THE FIREPLACE AND ROTATE TO THE OTHERSIND OF THE FIREPLACE OPEN THE GREEN 
BOOK AND VOLLA!!YOU HAVE FINISH MYST!


Go to the end game:
------------------- 
Turn all of the marker switches up. Go to the dock and turn the lever down
and a sheet will appear (if you don't know how to go to the clock tower then
turn the big handle 8 times and the small handle 2 times). Go to the chimney
and access diagram 158 and the chimney will turn so you are facing a book. 
Enter the book and gave the page to the person you'll meet. The end.


The Secret Age, Rime:
--------------------- 
Do what the strategy guide made my Philbo said. Then go underground in the
trapdoor at the ship dock. Go to the projector. Turn it off. Go to the paper
on the wall. Press the green button. Press the arrows until it gets to the 
number 40. Turn the projector on. You see a mountain. Go around the projector
slowly. Look for a flashing button. Press it. The switch panel comes down 
revealing a golden plaque. Press all of the circles on the plaque. Zoom out.
Go the rocket, but don't go in, go more towards the tower beside you. See 
that room cut into the brick walkway? Go into it. Make the number 2735. 
Go into the library. Click on the bluebook that has appeared. Now click 
on the link. You go to Rime, a secret age. Go to the side of the small 
building a switch the knob around. Go into the building and click on the
burner button. (It's red). Enjoy the coziness! 


How to Get to Channel Wood Age:
------------------------------- 
Go to the cabin . Type 724 in the vault. there are matches in the safe. Turn
on the furnace. light the match. look for the red dot at the bottom of the 
furnace. Light it with match. Quickly go to the big tree. You will see a 
elevator going up. Go back inside. turn off the furnace. Quickly go back 
outside. Quickly go back to the tree. Quickly get in the elevator. It will
go down, under the ground. The book is waiting for you.


Quick solution:
---------------
These steps will allow Myst to be completed in thirty minutes, without 
iewing the entire game. 

* Turn on all markers (marker switches to up positions and symbols to green).
  At the clock tower, rotate the small wheel twice and the large wheel eight 
  to set the clock to 2:40. Cross the bridge and turn on the switch. 
* Return to the dock and turn off the marker switch (down position). 
  Get the white page. 
* In the Library, look at the far right book on the middle shelf for the 
  pattern for page 158. 
* Input the pattern on the door in the fireplace opening. 
* Save the game. Decide which ending to display and deliver the appropriate 
  page. 


Rush Limbaugh Understands audio:
--------------------------------
Use Windows Explorer and open the "channelwood" folder on the CD-ROM. Find 
the "holoamth" file. Play it backwards with Quicktime, starting at the end. 
You will now understand what the man is saying when he's talking in the 
Channelwood language. The message is "Rush Limbaugh Understands". 


Mosaic:
-------
If you have completed the game, you will have been to D'ni, the place that 
you arrive in after you have used the green book in the library's fireplace.
You will also notice that the floor is a mosaic, forming a picture of a man's
face. That man is not Atrus, Sirrus, Achenar, or any other game character. 
The face belongs to Chuck Carter, who created a lot of the graphics for the 
game.


Easter Egg:
-----------
If you play the file x:QTWChannelholoamth.mov you will see a clip of Achenar
muttering gibberish in Channelwood. If the movie is played backwards, Achenar 
actually says something like "Rush Limbaugh understands."


Library Walls:
--------------
Access to the places of protection starts by examining everything on the 
library walls.


The Map:
--------
Access to the places of protection starts by understanding the function of 
the map in the library.


Access Keys:
------------
* Turn on the marker switches on Myst Island to activate locations on the map
  in the library. 
* Rotate the Tower to locations that turn the line red by clicking and holding 
  the flashing icon on the map. 
* Go to the Tower to find the access keys.


Getting to the Mechanical Age:
------------------------------
To reach the Mechanical Age, go to the southern edge of Myst. There should be 
a building in the water with a large clock on it and two wheels you can reach.
The two wheels represent the hands on the clock, the large one controls the 
large hand and the small one controls the small hand. Click the small one twice
and the large one eight times so that the clock says 2:40. Gears will come up 
from the water and allow you to access the building. Once inside, there will 
be three levers and a machine that says 3,3,3. The lever on the left turns the
top two gears and the one on the right controls the bottom two gears. 

Pull the levers until the machine says 2,2,1. If you pull the lever and nothing
happens, pull the one on the far right to reset the machine. Once it says 2,2,1,
the large gear on the northeastern part of the island should open up. 
Look inside it to find a linking book that will teleport you to the Mechanical 
Age.
