It's an open-world game in the likes of Burnout Paradise, which in my opinion was a nice game. This game however, is not Burnout, and while it does share many similarities, it is ultimately in need of more speed than Burnout. Honestly though, I have no other words to share about the Need for Speed franchise, as the most recent Needy Speedy game I played was Pro Street, which... was a mild experience to say the least (the DS one is the one). The last Need for Speed I played? The one for Windows 95/98, NFS III Hot Pursuit on an AMD K6 500mhz computer with 8MB of video RAM. So as you can see, I am coming into this series somewhat as a newbie, my first taste of Burnout being the one on the Xbox, that first Xbox, and being a huge fan of Burnout Paradise, I was quite stoked to return to cop avoiding fun in an open-world form, and my final opinion is: it's an okay game. It's not fantastically awesome, but good driving fun. So! Buckle up and jump into your favorite (class) of car, because we're going to drive so fast, the cops will spit out their coffee in surprise like that guy in Top Gun, because you can go as fast as over 200MPH, and if you drove by me at that speed, I'm sure I'd Top Gun spill my coffee too. ==- 2#-->--PC SETUP TIPS--------------------------------------------------------- ==-/ The common FPS results shared among gamers is that this game is poorly optimized, and their FPS is just low, like lower 30's low. Those folks who have Nvidia GTX cards and their Core i7 CPU's. Me? My specs are as follows: AMD APU A4-3400 2.7Ghz Dual core processor Radeon HD 6410D graphics with 1GB VRAM force-allocated (Catalyst 13.6 Beta) 19" 1440x900 LCD monitor on DVI output (game res at 800x600) 8GB DDR3-1600mhz RAM, CAS 11-11-11-31 A dying, 2% S.M.A.R.T. health HDD at 250GB (note that I am always multi-tasking, in this case a HDD regen was running on another hard drive while playing.) As you can see my computer is a sad sight and somewhat pathetic. My FPS? Highest is 34, lower is 26, averages at 30. If I overclock my RAM to 1866Mhz, I will have it fully stable at 30FPS with no drop in frames. (Note that I am using MSI Afterburner to display my frame rates, which displays less than Fraps, ie fraps may show 40 but MSI will show 37. I do not know why, but that is that.) I do somewhat agree though that this game isn't optimized well, considering enabling motion blur, or low shadows makes a .5 of a difference. Regardless though, I have everything on low or off where applicable, but there's some things to look into besides those. -First off, let's look at your graphics card setting. As I am AMD, I will be referring to Catalyst Control Center, but if you are Nvidia, do look for the similar setting. Now, my setup is a custom profile, if you have a better AMD graphics card than me, your default profile should be good enough, otherwise, I'll share this anyways. I set Tesselation to AMD optimized, as I found turning that off to have worse minimum frames than with it on. Texture Filtering Quality is set to Performance. Now in the game, there was one interesting setting which had quite an effect. Gamma correction, when lowered very low, like 10% low, gave me an additional 5FPS! Now I know I didn't raise it (which was around 55%), but lowering that has made it much more playable. I would guess this could be the same for any regardless if you are AMD or Nvidia. Now this being a PC game, I do not recommend using the keyboard. Unless you really want to cramp your hands, or if you reconfigured the whole thing to be more pleasing to your carpal-tunnel-allergic hands. I suggest using a game controller, as it's much easier to use, and very much more natural. I do not have a racing wheel, so I don't know about those, but I do have a chinese USB Playstation Dualshock clone thing that works fine, despite how low quality it is. I borrowed a Xbox360 controller, and that was the best. No re-configuring, it worked right out of the USB port. Er >_> As for sound, I turned off Music because searching for the jack spots was a chore. Was that my radio or was that his? I also enabled Reverbration, as it makes tunnel driving so much more better, with no noticeable hit in FPS. ===- 2.a#->-Controls---------------------------------------------------------------- ===-/ Here's a list of the controls for the Keyboard. Here are their descriptions: -AMBUSH Someone tattled on you, and the cops are on your tail. You must shake them off in the lowest time possible. -CIRCUIT RACE A race against other AI cars in multiple laps, on either asphalt or dirt. -SPRINT RACE A one way trip against other drivers. -SPEED RUN Try to maintain your highest driving speed throughout a one way trip. I recommend lowering your vehicle's weight before doing these events. ====- 5.a#-->--Races per Class----------------------------------------------------- ====-/ So while there are different races, each class of cars have the same types of races, but different locations. The goal of this section is to have all the races listed in one place so that if you were to drive for example a muscle class, you'll find Muscle Class cars under one section, instead of listing cars in alphabetical order, I figured this was the most sortable solution, similar to my Luminous Arc 2 FAQs, my style is intended for "reading while playing", as many time I come across a FAQ that wanted to be more stylish than usable. Notes: -All races are preferrably driven during the day. -1st place is 12000 SP, 2nd place 8000 SP, 3rd is 4000 SP -Winning second, and then first, will not give you 8000 + 12000SP. No matter what position, it will always equal 12000 total. For example, if you placed 3rd, and then you retry and place 1st, you will get 4000+8000SP respectively. -When using EasyDrive's recommended races, the prize per race in order of difficulty from Easy to Hard: --Burn Nitrous + Off Road tires --Lightweight Chassis + Track Tires --Long Gears + Reinforced Chassis --Powershot Nitrous + Impact Protection Body --Aero Body + Short Gears --Reinflating Tires only won if placed at least 3rd in all races per car. -You can expect to race against similarly specc'ed cars in races. What you won't see is Vin Diesel bringing a truck to an Exotic class race :P -All races are listed per my default setting of Miles Per Hour (MPH). ====- 5.b#-(MUSCLE CLASS)>--------------------------------------------------------- ====-/ ------------------------------\ /=/=/=/=/=BMW M3 COUPE=====\ --------------------------------\ HARBOR RUN_____________________________ -Difficulty: Easy -Type: Sprint Race What kind of sprinty Ambush race is this? Cops right at the start, so just never let go of the accelerator if you can. FAST TRACK_____________________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: Speed Run -Speeds: 110MPH, 100MPH, 90MPH Nothing much to say except, there are what you'd call turn shortcuts, as in some parts of this race takes place on wide turns, and you may be tempted to cross over these shorter turns, but I suggest you don't. That shortens your driving time, and in this speed run, it's more important to use every available time it takes to reach your top speed. CONTINENTAL DRIFT______________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: Circuit Race This one is easy. It's just a big around and round race, how hard can it be? DOUBLE PARKED__________________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: AMBUSH Oh these Ambushes are always fun. Once you land the jump of the cut scene, head straight until you see what looks like a courthouse, and turn into the street to its left (Pearl Street), and then turn left and heads towards the Body Shop up ahead. Once you exit that body shop, make a hard left into Beltway South, heading straight you will see what looks like another road to the left of Beltway South, take that while hugging the bend, and you'll have passed a police roadblock, then turn right into a little green pasture that has trees on either side, and make a run for the Body Shop up ahead. Once you exit the Body Shop, make a run for the freeway underground by taking the off ramp, and once you are on the freeway take the next available off ramp to exit the freeway. Continue driving straight until you see those 3 arches, drive through one of them and then make a right onto Vicennes Road, and make a run for that little ramp in the middle of the road, best speed to prevent overshooting it is 90 MPH, and this will take you onto the top of the bridge for the trains. Stay put and make sure you don't move so that your engine can shut down, and you should make the 2:30.00 limit for 1st. This is the easiest way to ensure cops are taken down by your constant switching between roads, so that they will hit obstacles and not you, remember to avoid hitting the cops as that will increase your Heat level. Note that if there is a cop heading your way from the train bridge, you can skip going through the 3 archs and instead turn into them and hide there instead. SPRINT EASTWARD________________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: Sprint Race Sprint eastward it said. I think that means we are going east, ja? A mostly asphalty race, so equip lightly and racingly. ---------------------------------------\ /=/=/=/=/=DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8=====\ -----------------------------------------\ FAST TRACK_____________________________ -Difficulty: Easy -Type: Speed Run -Speeds: 100MPH, 90MPH, 80MPH Nothing much to say except, there are what you'd call turn shortcuts, as in some parts of this race takes place on wide turns, and you may be tempted to cross over these shorter turns, but I suggest you don't. That shortens your driving time, and in this speed run, it's more important to use every available time it takes to reach your top speed. RUNNING THE GAUNTLET___________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: Sprint Race You start off on the freeway, and end up somewhere near downtown. No off roading, despite how slow this car is >__> If it gets incredibly frustrating, You have to smash everyone in your path, seriously. I kept retrying this, beating my personal best each time by 3 seconds, and it wasn't enough until I layed waste to the streets. THE HUNTED_____________________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: Ambush Probably one of the more stranger Ambush's in this game, where you start off trapped in a building with a bunch of cops in your vicinity. Your goal is to make it to the top of the building, and head down the only exit (it's basically just the edge of the roof), and you'll see a billboard in front of you, make sure you are going slow because your goal is to drop right down, and you'll see a body shop on your radar. You must take the route around to this body shop, in a way that it will make you exit towards that construction pit that is beside a railyard. If you did this correctly, you will have entered cooldown by the time you make it into this construction zone, and then head towards the body shop to the upper left. Make sure before you enter this body shop, Heat Level 2 should be almost down, enter the body shop once you enter Heat Level 1, and kaboom, completo. For this slow donkey-butt car, you can try another way, and that is to enter the body shop from the other direction, and it will make you exit to a that left turn that has a secondary road underneath it. I went on the upper street and then turned around to hide in the lower dirt path, which is just as good for 1st. POWER STRUGGLE_________________________ -Difficulty: Hard -Type: Circuit Race I don't even know why this car is in this game. Seriously, "Need for Speed"? This dang car really needs speed. It's off road, so equip them off-roady tires. CANNONBALL RUN_________________________ -Difficulty: Hard -Type: Sprint Race It's an asphalty race, so equip accordingly. CRASH LANDING__________________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: Circuit Race -Location: Hodges Airfield off I92 North It's a race around the airfield, so I suggest removing track tires. There will be plenty of chances to take down other drivers due to the amount of obstacles on the track, so take the opportunity when you can. SPRINT EASTWARD________________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: Sprint Race Sprint eastward it said. I think that means we are going east, ja? A mostly asphalty race, so equip lightly and racingly. There's only one off-road moment, and that is a shortcut. Depending if that shortcut is important to you, equip accordingly (I beat this race with Track Tires :P) Of course, if you are great with easydrive quick part switching, then you can simply equip off-road tires once you approach the shortcut XD GRAVITY________________________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: SPEED RUN Fairly easy speed run, except for the many turns. You'll have to drift like a master to make sure your speed does not drop. DOUBLE PARKED__________________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: AMBUSH Oh these Ambushes are always fun. Cops see you halfway through lap 1. TURBULENCE_____________________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: Circuit Race Oh, what a race around town. You'll attract cops on the first lap, and there will be roadblocks on lap 2. THE FUGITIVE___________________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: AMBUSH Oh, it might look like a doozy of a nightmare, but this one is plain and simple: lose the cops inside the airfield. I went straight through some hangars and went through what looks like a car garage, and up the ramp onto the roof and drove off, and headed straight for the exit onto the freeway, and U-turned right towards the Body Shop, by this time you'll have entered Cooldown, so going through the Body Shop should drop you -1 Heat Level, and then head back into the Airfield (YES) and hide in there. GET TO THE CHOPPER_____________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: SPEED RUN -Speeds: 110MPH, 100MPH, 90MPH -Location: Callahan Industrial on Beddoe Drive You'll drive a highway 2/3rds of the way, so try not to crash at the end. CRUSH HOUR_____________________________ -Difficulty: Hard -Type: CIRCUIT RACE A rather fun race for 3 laps. You will face cops at the end of Lap 1, so be prepared for that. Mostly because it's a long donkey-butt drive, and for a speed run, one little mistake, and it's ruined. So drift smartly because dropping your speed is a no-no. GRAVITY________________________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: SPEED RUN Fairly easy speed run, except for the many turns. You'll have to drift like a master to make sure your speed does not drop. You will face cops at the end of Lap 1, so be prepared for that. I do like taking that shortcut around the big left turn bend but don't hug the bend too much as you will pass the checkpoint. STOREHOUSE STAKEOUT____________________ -Difficulty: MEdium -Type: AMBUSH I love ya, Ms. Ambush. Nothing better than having a time limit when playing hide and seek. Once you start this one, head as straight as the road will allow you and take the left turn at the end of this pier/dock. You will see what looks like a path through some containers, take this straightaway and you'll see a white car garage building. Worm your way around inside, by this time you'll see a Body Shop on your map. Make your way to that as quickly as you can, and by the time you reach this, you're out of the cops radar zone. There should be a roadblock ahead once you exit the Body Shop, so make a left onto the freeway, go straight a bit until you see another Body Shop appear on your radar, take the off ramp to exit the freeway, make a left and that body shop will end pursuit. I managed this whole event in under 1 minute. CRASHDOWN__________________ -Difficulty: Medium -Type: Sprint Race This is a one way race. There's only one off-road moment, and that is a shortcut. Depending if that shortcut is important to you, equip accordingly (I beat this race with Track Tires :P) Of course, if you are great with easydrive quick part switching, then you can simply equip off-road tires once you approach the shortcut XD DOWNTOWN RUN___________________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: SPEED RUN -Speeds: 150MPH (1st), 140 MPH (2nd), 130MPH (3rd) I actually found this quite hard. MAke sure before you enter this body shop, Heat Level 2 should be almost down, enter the body shop once you enter Heat Level 1, and kaboom, I did it in 1:06.40 BURNING RUBBER_________________________ -Difficulty: Hard -Type: Sprint Race A rather simple race, honestly. This is the easiest way to ensure cops are taken down by your constant switching between roads, remember to avoid hitting the cops as that will increase your Heat level. A freeway, cop laden speed run that has you running at a higher speed than usual. It might be maddening, but you have to watch out for the cop who will try to ram you from the right, at the very start of the race. Now, it gets even more crazier: you have to drive through Hodges Airfield, so you have no choice but to equip off-road tires. If you are pro enough, you can have track tires going to the airfield, and then easydrive switch to off-road when approaching the airfield. It's a dirty run for sure. ----------------------------\ /=/=/=/=/=-LEXUS LFA=====\ ------------------------------\ Note: A most wanted car. Must shut down first to do the following events. DOWNTOWN RUN___________________________ -Difficulty: Easy -Type: SPEED RUN -Speeds: 130MPH (1st), 120 MPH (2nd), 110MPH (3rd) I actually found this quite hard. CRASHDOWN__________________ -Difficulty: HARD -Type: Sprint Race This is a one way race. There's only one off-road moment, and that is a shortcut. I'd hold down that accelerator if I were you. ====- 5.i# (THE COPS)>------------------------------------------------------------- ====-/ NOTE: This section is about cop pursuits in the open-world, not in race events like Ambush, Sprint Race, etc. I normally would have given this it's own section, but since you do race against the cops for the sake of hiding from them, I feel it's best here. Disclaimer: the mangatron does not condone running from the cops IRL. If you are flagged by an officer, it's better to stand your ground instead of resisting arrest. So how do you start a pursuit? You can either: -Bump into a cop car. -Cause a traffic accident in front of the cop car. -Drive over 60MPH beside or cutting across a cop car. -Sitting on the middle of the road, blocking a cop car. They will warn you with a "whoop" sound from their siren, if no movement then arresting time. This will begin cop pursuits at Heat Level 1. Heat Levels are from 1-6. From my gameplay experiences, they are as follows: ___HEAT LEVEL 1: A Cop who was on donut break saw you, and wants to take you down. ___HEAT LEVEL 2: The previous cop crashed, and wants backup, calling for more cops who finished their respective donut breaks. ___HEAT LEVEL 3: You have taken down one too many cops. Here comes the Highway cops, who are tougher (they equipped Reinforced chassis :P) ___HEAT LEVEL 4: Cops are having difficulty taking you down, so they ask for SUV's to help out. ___HEAT LEVEL 5: The SUV's were apparently too slow, so they asked for the sleek speedy black widow interceptors to entrap you with spike strips. These cars primarily overshoot your highest speed to lay spike strips in front of you. ___HEAT LEVEL 6: Apparently those spike strips kept being avoided as if you couldn't see them in the first place, so they call for armored cars to take you down. As per the game, you actually get SpeedPoints for whatever you were doing with these cops. Do keep in mind that you will only get all the accumulated SP if you succesfully ended pursuit without getting caught. Here I will list the points from what I was able to see: -Begin Police Pursuit: 600SP -Head-on Takedown: 400SP -Traffic Takedown (Crashing cop into civilian car): 500SP -Slam Takedown: 500SP -Shunt Takedown: 450SP -T-bone Takedown: 475SP (unconfirmed: repeated above takedowns add 50SP?) -Hitting Trafic (no crash): 35SP -Ramming: 25SP -Slam: 25SP -Entered Heat Level 3: (too quick to see) -Entered Heat Level 4: 5000SP -Go through roadblock (no crash): 250SP TIP: The easiest way to build up SpeedPoints is to initiate a cop pursuit. What I do is a Demolition Donut Derby, and that is to choose a six lane part of the I92 freeway, and drive back and forth, drifting 180 to turn around and build up Nitrous, all while using said Nitrous to boost smash the nearest cop. When you do this in a small area, there is a higher chance of the cop being confused about which direction you are going, and while they are busy trying to turn around, they are mostly stationary, making it easier to take them down. Heat Level 5 is the easiest, as the Interceptors do not back up in reverse that well, and being lightly armored, they are a cinch to take down. ==-- 6#=-->--Defeating the MOST WANTED-------------------------------------------- ==--/ Ah, the most wanted. Too bad there's only 10 of them. I really think there should have been more, or at least some variation. Like, how about a Most Wanted SUV? Make the race inside that construction zone in McClane. But I digress. These 10 Most Wanted races are races around Fairhaven, no laps, just a one way ride with a bunch of cops on your tail. Notes to remember: -Defeating these cars unlocks their locations on the map (jack spots). -I seriously recommend getting the parts for the car you want to use, please don't use the Ford F150 Raptor without Burn Nitrous, just don't. -Burn Nitrous Pro is a recommended upgrade to equip. This will increase your boost bar, so that in the event there's no Body Shop around, 10 bars is better than 5 bars of Nitrous. See 4.a# for details to unlock. -12000 SP awarded for defeating a most wanted driver. --------------------------------------- #10: ALFA ROMEO 4C CONCEPT ---------------------------------------/ --SP needed to challenge: 60,000 -Car I used: Ariel Atom 500 V8 -Heat Level: 3 You start off very off-roady, and you'll have to drive through the sandy beeches at the end. How you want to play it depends on how you will handle the middle of the race, which takes place very much on asphalt. --------------------------------------- #9: SHELBY COBRA 427 ---------------------------------------/ --SP needed to challenge: 135,000 -Car I used: Ariel Atom 500 V8 -Heat Level: 3 Do not, I repeat, do not hold the accelerator button at the start of this race. Control it in bursts as there are 2 little jumps, at high speed you will overshoot the sharp turn that occurs right after the second jump. As for the rest of this race, this Shelby likes to take its time, a nudge can take it down quite easily lol. --------------------------------------- #8: MERCEDES BENZ SL 65 AMG ---------------------------------------/ --SP needed to challenge: 220,000 -Car I used: Bac MONO -Heat Level: 3 I would have to suggest Off-road tires, if only due to the very off-roady part near the beginning of the race, it is unavoidable so, if your car does not have a decent off-road rating, I suggest equipping off-road tires. --------------------------------------- #7: LEXUS LFA ---------------------------------------/ ---SP needed to challenge: 315,000 -Car I used: Bac MONO -Heat Level: 4 This one is kind of the opposite of Most Wanted #8, so if that dirt shortcut means a lot to you, then I say use a car with good off-road ratings. Besides that, it's an asphalt race the rest of it, except for the very end, where your off-road rating should matter because it's basically a dirt ramp that will land you at the finish line. This Lexus has what I believe to be a top speed of 175MPH, so if you have a car that can do better, then you're good. --------------------------------------- #6: MCLAREN MP4-12C ---------------------------------------/ -Car I used: Bac MONO -Heat Level: 4 This is probably the time to stop using the RACE class cars, as this race was a chore for my upgraded, not-so-pro-parts Bac MONO. The sewers are at the end of the race, and if you know those, you'll need a good off-road rating to get through without this guy passing you. I had to use full Burn Nitrous just to bring myself to 180MPH inside the sewer tunnels, which is the only good thing about the RACE class (good accel). --------------------------------------- #5: PORSCHE 918 SPYDER CONCEPT ---------------------------------------/ -Car I used: BMW M3 Coupe -Heat Level: 4 I recommend equipping off-road tires as there are several dirtcuts to take, and they can greatly help. --------------------------------------- #4: LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR ---------------------------------------/ -SP needed to challenge: 630,000 -Card I used: Porsche Carrera S -Heat Level: 5 There are some shortcuts, but this is one winding asphalt race. I would have to say off-road tires first half, track tires second half. --------------------------------------- #3: BUGATTI VEYRON SUPER SPORT ---------------------------------------/ --SP needed to challenge: 750,000 -Car I used: Audi R8 GT Spyder -Heat Level: 5 The serious part of this race occurs when you near that coastline part of the map. You must equip off-road tires during this segment, unless you want to use off-road tires all the way, but if you do that you will miss out on the freeway segments, which are quite long. Easydrive! --------------------------------------- #2: PAGANI HUAYRA ---------------------------------------/ --SP needed to challenge: 875,000 -Car I used: Audi R8 GT Spyder -Heat Level: 6 It's an asphalt race true and through. Starting at Hughes Park, you need to control your speed here as the jumps are continuous. Not long after leaving Hughes park with be a couple of Interceptors with a Spike Strip Roadblock. The only other part to worry about is the construction zone at the end of the race, you can cut through it, but that would mean equipping off-road tires to do so. If you can take down this guy before that, that's even better. --------------------------------------- #1: KOENIGSEGG AGERA R ---------------------------------------/ --SP needed to challenge: 1,000,000 -Car I used: PAGANI HUAYRA -Heat Level: 6 This was one serious race. I had used the Ariel Atom, the Bac Mono, I ended up going with the Pagani Huayra, which I think is the only way to beat this guy because if he falls behind, he'll zoom right back to your butt. It's over 4 minutes long, and it ends right at that Pagani construction zone. How close was it? I took him down right near the finish line, that's how. ==-- 7#=-->--Multiplayer>--------------------------------------------------------- ==--/ I unfortunately do not have a good connection, so I can't even race. I felt this FAQ is not the place to share my sordid experiences with the quality of my internet, which you can read plenty about on my blog. What I can do is share some info regarding multiplayer: -The Higher your speed level, the more you can unlock, such as cars, more Milestones to beat, or license plates. -Note: You must have a Speed Level of at least 2 to see your Milestones list. There are basically 2 game types (not modes), simply put it is similar to the old days of public servers and private servers. The 2 types are: --Public games. These are simply those who are online and joined an event (race), and Criterion's preset events will handle the rest. --Friends list. These are people you invite/joined, folks you know and not some random dude who didn't get the invitation. This is where you can organize your own events into SpeedLists. -SpeedLists are comprised of 5 races back to back. -To race, you will have to meet up with the other drivers at a certain location. The following types of races are available: -TEAM RACE: players are split between 2 teams. The objective is to earn as much speed points through your Finish position, takedowns and spot bonuses. -SPEED TESTS: For 90 seconds, all players race to set the highest speed through either a Speed Trap, the longest jump, drift or time. Taking down a player will freeze their score. -CHALLENGES: everyone must complete certain challenges within a time limit. The one who contributes more gets more Speed Points. If you want to submit info I missed, I'll add it to my FAQ here, and credit you where necessary. ==-- 8#=-->--Achievements/Milestones>--------------------------------------------- ==--/ Some may not realize it, but there's quite a number of records to be broken in this game. Achievements, or Milestones as the game calls them, is when you accomplish a particular action, and be rewarded. You know how there's a free-to-play model for games these days, I don't like that. I would much rather see some cash payouts for completing a near-impossible feat :D (*)-(*)-(*)-(*)-(*)-(*) CAR MILESTONES (*)-(*)-(*)-(*)-(*)-(*) Note: typically, each car has their own milstones, but comparing some indicates that they are all the same for each car. In an open world game, describing these locations are not going to be easy. What I do believe in is that a picture is worth a thousand words, so visit the following link for screenshots of these locations. I have unfortunately not found all the locations of the billboards at the time of version 1 of this FAQ, but I intend to drive around more now that this guide is done. A: Uh, okay... Q: He also flew without wings. Killed the movie for me, man. A: Wait what? That scene was in the trailers! A man will do anything for the girl he loves, even fly. That didn't stop you from going to the movie theater, apparently. Q: He also drove through the nose of an AN-124 Condor. A: Hoover Dam SPOILERS :P Diesel Sneasel, I don't want to talk about Diesel anymore. I was just making an example. Q: Did you know in the Philippines, they use a type of gas called Diesoline? A: Oh for farming's sake... Q: Where do I submit info/typo fixes? A: Visit the post on my blog, and comment there. I am not going to give out my email because I have been fighting spam for 14 years of email use. You newgen's don't know what it was like in the old days, posting one's email anywhere was like a classified ad for anyone to contact you. Comment here: themangatron.blogspot.com/2013/08/need-for-speed-most-wanted-criterion.html Q: What's a newgen? A: I consider a newgen anyone born within the last 18 years. They got it spoiled alright. Back then we had to deal with a simple internet, no torrents slowing down ISP's, no Youtube, no Broadband, no Rottentomatoes.com to help us decide what movie sucks and what doesn't, nowadays you got smartphones, portable consoles more powerful than the home consoles of the 90's, Facebook & Twitter for everyone to share pics of their latest breakfast. :P Q: Not all newgens are spoiled. A: I know, but there sure are some bad ones too. Q: What does "donkey-butt" mean in this FAQ? A: I'm not the sweary type like some newgens are these days. It kinda irritates me, they add "F*cking" to anything, like "F*cking awesome!" or "so f*cking epic", do they even realize what they say? That also means "That's so mating awesome!" or the hilarious "that's mating ridiculous". So I'm sticking to donkey-butt instead of azz, and considering the education system these days, people could learn a thing or two about the work-horse, and that emule program. That thing was great when it works :D Q: Help! My chinese clone controller doesn't work properly! A: There's an update. I usually got the message that I configured a button on my controller too fast, but it still works. Q: I can't beat ____ car/race. A: If you can, go and unlock all the PRO parts of the cars. I don't even have a car with all PRO parts, just the ones that mattered, maybe unlocking all PRO parts will make it a supercar >__> Q: My car is too slow. A: I'd say it's common knowledge, but don't confuse your car with parts mixing. For example, if you want to go fast, it's best to equip Lightweight chassis + Aero Body. You don't want to equip Reinforced Chassis + Aero body, it's just making things neutral. There are exceptions though, but hey, not all cars are perfect. Q: How do I hide from the cops? A: I don't know if this game has True Sight like Company Of Heroes 2, but it does sort of work by line of sight. That is, if they can see you, you are still under pursuit. The only exception to this is if you are still within their heat radius, no matter if you are hiding in a box, you will still be under pursuit. Once you enter cooldown, if you are not in their sight, you will be hidden. Be sure to stop the car, no buttons pressed in order for the engine to shut down, thus cooling down faster. Yes, hiding behind a ledge as high as your car's height does help, even if the cop is on the other side. ________________________________________________________________ (You too can be mentioned here if you submit something helpful!) -Special thanks go out to ...EA?
