This is a guide to Escape From Paradise City.  I do not intend on rehashing 
the manual so you should refer to it if you are unsure of controls etc.  

This guide has been written by me after some long painstaking effort so please 
do not rip my walkthrough off.  

The game is very linear; objectives are mapped out at the start of each chapter.
The character you start he level with is the only character that you can use in 
that level.  The objectives are usually based around taking over all the 
neighbourhoods and defeating the bosses so there isn't much in the way of 
varied game play.  You will find that you can't win the game with the use of 
henchmen, powers and skills.  

One thing that struck me about the game is the bad spelling and grammar on the 
load screens to each level.  I guess it must have been missed in testing along 
with a few other annoyances.  However, I paid £4.99 for this so I think that’s 
a fair price for this game.  

This is more of a guide rather than a walkthrough.

{                              02 - General Hints                              }

- Each chapter restricts the character to a certain level whereby you cannot 
  get any further advancement.  I would recommend levelling up traits and 
  skills before attempting the main objectives.  

- There are a certain amount of trait points to be gained on each level. Don't 
  forget to get these points.  Easiest way is to take over neighbourhoods.

- Don't forget the suitcases guarded by gangers contain free items.  It would 
  be rude not to kill them and take the contents.

- Only $2000 can be transferred from one chapter to another.

- Try and take a full inventory from one level to the next.  You can sell these 
  items to get money or swap them for better items.  However, some levels, 
  including the last, you won't be able to sell anything.

- Henchmen will level up with the character so ensure they have been fully 
  levelled up before finishing the mission.

- Buy all available skills and best items before completing the missions

- Powers such as "calling in Robbie" and "task force" is very good at thinning 
  the enemy numbers before risking your gangers and henchman.  They only cost 
  power so you might as well use them.  I killed Oleg without using the dagger 
  this way!

- When buying gangers I tend to buy 2 healers, 2 bouncers and a gunman.  
  This tends to group gangers making it more difficult for enemies to take over 
  your neighbourhoods because when your gangers are low on health they run 
  away and are able to heal.

- Undefended neighbourhoods may be lost so don't forget to defend them!  

- Don't forget to buy the gangers upgrades for the gangers you have chosen to 
  defend your neighbourhoods.

- When you have defeated a neighbourhood boss wait for his energy to recuperate 
  before talking to him and sending him out around the neighbourhood.  If he's 
  attacked he'll be easily killed and you'll have to take down a new boss.

- If your inventory is full and a ganger drops an item.  Open your inventory 
  and drop one of your items then pick up the item off the ganger.  The item 
  dropped from your inventory will remain on the map until you want to pick it 
  up again, the ganger’s item will disappear if you don't pick them up.

The game has 3 characters; Porter, Angel and Boris and you'll use each of these 
in the different chapters (only one in each chapter).  They each have different 
combat styles:

* Porter - Uses guns
* Angel  - Use melee weapons
* Boris  -  Uses guns and bodyguards

Although Boris uses bodyguards I would always get at least one henchman 
regardless of the character.  Two guns are always better than one and two level 
3 characters can easily take down a level 8 ganger. In fact I always get the 
maximum number of henchman for each character.

With the exception of Boris (who starts the game with a henchman - "Crowbar").
Henchman must be hired from bars.  They will start with no skills and the same 
level as the character did when you started the chapter.  You can buy skill 
upgrades for henchman in the same way as you can for your main characters.  
However, you cannot buy any equipment for your henchmen.  

Henchmen will gain experience points with you and will continue to gain them 
until they reach their cap for the level (which is 1 level above your 
character).  They can only reach this level if you buy their skill upgrades.

If a henchman dies you can rehire them (assuming they are available on the 
level).  However, you will have to pay for all their skills again so losing 
them can become expensive!

As you progress through the game you will find that the computer will send 
hired henchmen against you.

The characters advance by gaining experience points (XP) and trait points.  

* Experience points are given for killing enemies and completing side quests.

* Trait points can be earned through capturing neighbourhoods or doing side 
  quests.

You can also pick up or buy extra equipment to give your character better 
armour, weapons, accessories, drinks and drugs.  You can pick up things you 
can't use because of your level or character type.  If you want you can sell 
these for cash or hold onto them until you reach the required level.  

Money is gained when you take over certain neighbourhoods, kill gangers or 
sometimes through completing quests.

All characters level up at the same rate and need the same amount of experience 
to reach the next level.  The table below indicates the amount of experience

Each time you level up you are given 5 experience points to spend on abilities 
and 5 trait points to spend on traits.  The add up so if you don't use them all 
on one level you can use them on the next.

You can't buy all ability points or traits so you'll need to be selective.

I would always try and make sure you hire the maximum number of henchman for 
your character.  In the case with Boris aim to be able to hire 3 and have a 
walking army!

The abilities you'll want to use for each character depend up their attacking 
method.  

Body          - Useful to all characters to increase hit points
Perception    - Only useful to Porter and Boris
Agility       - Good for Angel, although also useful for Porter and Boris
Concentration - Useful for all characters
Charisma      - Useful for Boris and other characters if you're hiring Henchman

This section will list all the items that you can buy in the game.  Generally 
the better the item the more expensive it is.  However, this isn't always true 
so check the statistics before buying.  Dual weapons will do twice the listed 
damage, because you have two of them, so bear this in mind.

My personal opinion on which weapons, armour and items are the best is:

* It is always have the weapon that does the most damage equipped.
* Always use the highest level armour, regardless of the speed modifier
* Try and use a combination of passive modifiers such as the Nanomeds, 
  Leadership Ring and Neural Shock equipped.
* If you don't have access to the best equipment early on so equip the 
  nanomeds 3 times to increase your health significantly.

Pure because they are attacking options.  Don't waste your time with the

"Get two neighbourhood bosses under your command!" his employer NSA Agent 
Kovacks has orders.  "Nice... gives me the opportunity to practice my new 
legshot kill" Porter thought as he entered Paradise City for the first time...

Objectives:

1) Kill all gangers in the point
2) Overtake the point
3) Take over east valley

There are two gangers flashing on the minimap.  Kill them to complete the first 
objective of the mission.

You need to build yourself up to level 3 and make sure you have spent all your 
skill points and traits.  You have to knock the boss down to about 90% of his 
energy to get him to take the point over for you (objective 2 complete).

The final objective is to take out the boss in the next neighbourhood.  You may 
want to take out the other neighbourhoods first.  

You won't need to hire any gangers on this level so save your money.

Angel didn't know anything about Porter's presence in the docks.  But she knew 
that her skills as a street fighter would only get her so far.  She would have 
to recruit new gang members to fight with her.  Kovacks had told her to 
research what neighbourhoods were the weakest and take them first.  "And 
remember to upgrade your weapons whenever you can in the markets!" he had said.

Objectives:
1) Take over the 3 neutral neighbourhoods.
2) Take over Docks Square

Fairly straight forward.  Take all three neutral neighbourhoods (objective 1 
complete).

Then take all the red neighbourhoods.  Recruit a henchman 
and upgrade all your skills.  Then when you are ready simply send all your 
gangers to attack the Docks.  They'll take it without your help.  Mop up and 
complete the level by defeating and talking to the boss (your gangers should 
beat him up for you).  Objective 2 complete!

leadership skills and hire some personal bodyguards to survive this first
 mission.  Kovacks had told him the bars where the place to look for hired

just waiting to be hired"  Kovacks had said.  "And buy some drinks while you're 
there!"

Objectives:
1) Take over shallow street.
2) Use call vehicle and go to Tight Turn and take it over.
3) Defend Tight Turn From the attack
4) Take over small road
5) Eliminate the Rat in Rat's Hole

Boris is the worst character as he can get killed at the drop of a hat early 
in the game so you must use your henchman.  Aim to get his skills up in the 
hiring so you can hire 2 bodyguards (3 in total).  

You will need to move away from the alleyway otherwise you'll be spotted by a 
scout.  You should be able to take out the three gangers where you start.  Use 
the guard to put Crowbar in between you and them then initiate an attack and 
lure one away.  Pick up the loot in the suitcases and wait until you heal.  

Now make sure the scout spots you and draws two other scouts to you.  Kill 
them, wait to heal then go after the boss.  You should take over the point and 
complete objective 1.

I would then take over small road to get access to a new henchman and an 
armourer to buy and sell stuff.  You should be in a position to update your and 
the henchmen’s skills so do that before taking on Tight Turn.

Take over tight turn and unlock a new power and complete objective 2.  This 
will trigger objective 3.  You must now defend the new neighbourhood from a 
series of attacks from the Rat.  Hire gangers to defend it along with your 
henchmen should be easy enough to repel.  After several attacks you'll 
complete objective 3.  

Objective 4 is to take Small Road which you may or may not own.  If not go and 
capture it now to complete objective 4.  

The final objective is to take out rat.  You'll want to take over the Docks 
Centre and Layer Road before taking him on to reduce the risk of any surprises.
use the "rally gangers" to send in all you gangers and take these out.

You may need to hit and run several times before reducing the number of 
gangers enough to kill the rat.  

The Rat can then be taken out in the same way - rally gangers.  Remember to 
stock up on items and have the 2000 limit, Boris's next mission is rather 
tough.

After completing her first mission Kovacks gave Angel the task to protect a 
powerful boss called Rocco. "Getting Rocco to trust you and conquering the 
neighbourhoods is key to success!" Kovacks had said.  "Use your Satellite Scan 
to find out where your enemies are and your street medic skill to heal Rocco if 
he gets hurt!" "I gotta move fast on this one", Angel thought as she went to 
meet her knew best fried.

Objectives:
1) Take all neighbourhoods and keep Rocco alive.

Basically you need to defend Rocco and take the neighbourhoods. Rocco goes to 
every bar on the strip, all 10 of them for a drink.  He'll also go into all the 
alleyways and fight anyone he comes across.  

The best strategy is to follow him and use the Street Medic, Call Robbie 
and Task Force (when available) powers to support him.  When you get close to a 
boss, and its safe, take him out and capture the neighbourhood then go after 
Rocco again.  

Eventually you'll have killed all the gangers and Rocco can run around to his 
hearts content.  He will find the last boss so subdue the boss but don't 
intimidate him and you will have plenty of time to explore the rest of the 
level.  

Don't forget to update your skills when you level up!

Rocco was happy with Angel's work on the strip.  So pleased in fact that he had 
a new assignment for her.  Angel called Kovacks.  "Play your part and do as he 
says Senorita.  We need to stay close to him a little longer!"  Kovacks had 
said with unusual elegance.  "Feels nice to have a new Task Force Skill" Angel 
thought.  "Makes me feel I'm not totally alone in this dump."

Objectives:
1) Kill Oleg Orrosiev

This mission is a trap, Rocco has set you up.  When you approach the shadow 
street neighbourhood you lose all your neighbourhoods and have to make it back 
to the road in Magnolia.

The basic strategy is to just level up and take the neighbourhoods to gain 
trait points and experience.  When you've maxed out both have your henchmen 
wait on the road above Magnolia.  Approach Shadow Street and trigger the 
change then simply run back to Magnolia and complete the mission.  You can 
probably beat this mission in under 10 minutes if you ignore all the levelling 
up!

Chapter 6 - Unfinished Business

After Angel escaped from Oleg Kovacks arranged a meeting between her and Porter.
"Word on the street is that these guys have some sort of supernatural powers.  
I'd go with you but our new friend Kovacks insisted you go in alone" Porter had 
said.  "Be careful Angel these guys are dangerous.  Go to the church and see 
what you can find.  Weird enemies are fought with weird weapons" he said as he 
emptied the glass of whiskey in front of him.

Objectives:
1) Get to the church undetected
2) Kill Oleg  with the ceremonial daggers

Your first mission is as straight forward as it sounds, get to the church 
without being spotted by any gangers.  If you are spotted you have around 10 
seconds to kill them or hide or you'll have to start again.  The easiest way to 
do this is to use the call vehicle power and ride in style to the church.  Make 
sure you have 1 slot free if you want to pick up the ceremonial daggers.  You 
don't need them but it can help.  Enter church and approach man at the back to 
complete objective 1.

The second objective is to kill Oleg.  You can be move around again without 
fear of detection.  Simply level up, take neighbourhoods and then take out Oleg 
to complete the second objective.

Chapter 7 - Rocco Must Die

Angel had killed the great Russian.  But before he died he had told her that 
Rocco had sent her in for Oleg to catch her.  "He wasn't expecting you to 
surprise him... He wanted you to become one of us..." Oleg had said before 
closing his eyes.  "One of them.  What does that mean?" Angel thought.  She 
called Kovacks again.  "You're clear to go after Rocco.  We have no further 
use of him!" Kovacks said.

2) Pick up a bomb suit from a market
3) Kill Rocco

Take over 3 neighbourhoods of your choice, Rocco won't bother you he'll just 
wander around Rocco's street. Once you have three this objective is complete.  
I would Backyard Butterfly, Eternal Street and Units place.  

Once you have three neighbourhoods you will need to take small street to get 
access to the bomb suit to complete objective 2.  Rocco will attack you 
relentlessly but will be easy to fend off.  

Finally go and kill Rocco to complete the final object and the chapter. You 
can't kill Rocco and complete the level without buying the bomb suit even 
though you don't need it.  

Make sure you have bought the best weapons, amour and equipment before 
finishing the level (you won't be able to buy them on the final level)

Chapter 8 - El Lobo

After Angel killed Rocco Kovacks gave Boris his next mission: Meet with 
Porter, another agent and help him kill a powerful boss by the name of El Lobo. 
Porter had already been in a fight with El Lobo but during the combat the boss 
had suddenly vanished into this air.  Kovacks arranged a meeting between Porter 
and Boris, "Like the rest of the bosses El Lobo has some kind of super powers." 
Porter said.  Boris laughed "I will kill him for you and I would ask you join 
me Porter, but my henchmen and I work best alone!"  "Kovacks wont be happy 
about you going after him alone!" Porter thought as Boris entered his vehicle.

Objectives:
1) Take El Lobo's 3 Safehouses.  Kill El Lobo

This is the only objective in this mission but it's not as easy as it sounds.  
El Lobo will come straight for you when and every time El Lobo is killed he 
will re-spawn and come after you again.  

What you need to do is to hire 2 more gangers in the only neighbourhood you 
own.  Wait for El Lobo to arrive and with the help of your henchmen and gangers 
you should kill him.  He'll regenerate soon so you need to be quick and take 
over an adjacent neighbourhood.  

Keep repeating taking over neighbourhoods and defending until you take over all 
3 safehouses.  when you do that the next time El Lobo dies he's dead for good.

Boris had killed El Lobo and was enjoying his stay in Paradise City more and 
more.  "I like this place" Boris thought.  His cell phone rang. It was 
Kovacks... "You've compromised the entire mission!" Kovacks shouted.  "Get out 
of the city now!" he shouted even louder.  "No way agent man.  I am not going 
anywhere.  I've become fond of my little city" Boris replied.  "Well then there 
is only one thing I can do..." Kovacks replied more silently.  Bois almost 
though the agent sounded like he was smiling

Truly his situation has changed for the better.  Kovacs and the damned NSA was 
now off his back.  In a lawless city filled with guns for hire Boris was now 
left on his own.  Not a bad situation for a man with his stature.  A great plan 
began to emerge in his big bald head...  What if he was the top man in 
Paradise? "President Boris sounds good to me" he thought.  Next milestone in 
his plan was getting rid of King Willie.  A powerful Jamaican boss who 
controlled a very dark part of the docks.  Boris decided the deadline for his 
next milestone was now.

Predator 2 rip off or what!

The only neighbourhood with a church is uptown so fight your way over taking 
all the neighbourhoods in the way.  Once you take over the church you'll 
complete objective 1.

I would take over Willow Centre if possible and hire gangers to defend it. You 
need a surprising amount of firepower to take the King down.  After 7-8 task 
forces, Robbie’s, crime scenes and assassins you should take him down and 
complete the second objective and the chapter.

equipment before finishing the level (you won't be able to buy them on the

The news of Kovack's death hadn't exactly made Porter burst into tears.  But 
now he wasn't sure what to do. Actually he decided to leave town when a 
beautiful women had approached him in a bar.  "I'm Lydia" she had said smiling.
She told him that her boss had heard about Porters skills and would offer him a 
job clearing out some of the scum in one of the old areas.  Porter thought 
about his boat in Miami and said: "Nice to meet you sweetheart.".  "if you 
upgrade your equipment and get some skills on this one I'll have more jobs for 
ya honey..." she had replied.

Objectives:
1) Kill the crazies in The Old Seaman Church

This is fairly straight forward, just kill the three vampire hunters in the 
church.  Unfortunately the ways to the Church neighbourhood is guarded by 2 
big gangs of gangers so you'll need to thin them out with Robbie’s and task 
forces.  Once the gangers have been removed you can take over all the 
neighbourhoods including the church.  You can then kill the "crazies" at your 
leisure.

Not having much time to think on why those crazies that bothered Lydia and her 
boss called themselves "Vampire Hunters", Porter put it out of his head and 
accepted  Lydia's offer to go and see her boss.  So Porter showed up at the 
"Imperial hotel" where he resided... "I am impressed Porter!  You have the 
strength I need in my clan!"  "You promised you wouldn't touch him!" Lydia 
screamed.  "And now I will make you one of us..." he said as he bared two fangs 
the size of beer cans.  "Run honey run!" Lydia shouted.  And that's exactly 
what Porter did...

Objectives:
1) Run to the end of the street
2) Find Lydia in Upper Centre
3) Escape to exit point

You don't need to do any of the first two objectives.  Kill gangers and level 
up to the maximum level for the chapter and take over some neighbourhoods to 
get the trait points.  It is possible to take Santiago's Tower by swarming the 
tower and subduing the boss.  You then need to lure Santiago out of the main 
room and keep him occupied with Robbie’s.  Run back to the boss and you can 
claim the neighbourhood.  This is the only neighbourhood with an armourer.

I wouldn't waste any money on protecting these neighbourhoods as they don't 
yield any power and once the money has gone they're pretty much useless.

You need to run to the marker on the map in central gate to complete object 1.
Then run to the marker in Upper Centre to meet Lydia and complete objective 2.
Lydia can't be killed so don't worry about rescuing her.

When you kill the group of gangers that attack Lydia will turn against you.  
When you do enough damage she'll run towards the flashing marker in easy street.
You'll be chased by several gangers including one that looks like El Lobo, 
who you can't seem to kill.  Follow the map to the marker to complete the 
level.

Lydia had helped Porter escape the vampire master Santiago Vargas.  they spent 
the night together but the next morning she was gone.  "I'm definitely taking 
the chick with me to Miami" Porter thought as he stepped into the street.  His 
cell phone suddenly rang.  It was Lydia.  She wanted to meet him.  Just before 
he hung up Porter heard her say "I'm sorry sweetheart... I'm so sorry".  He 
called a vehicle and drove off to meet her.

You start in Rocco's Square and Lydia starts in Backyard Butterfly.  Its a race 
to take neighbourhoods.  You need to be quick and take as many neighbourhoods 
as possible whilst levelling up.  

Lydia will take neighbourhoods in this order:

1) Backyard Butterfly
2) Units Place
3) Eternal street
4) Small Street

If you manage to kill her when she has neighbourhoods she will re-spawn but 
will stop trying to take over new neighbourhoods.  Take your time buying 
equipment and taking over the other neighbourhoods.  You'll need to take all 
the neighbourhoods and then attack Lydia to finish the chapter.

equipment before finishing the level (you won't be able to buy them on the 
final level)

It was like having reached the top of the stairs only knowing that he last step 
was higher than you could jump and more slick than oil.  This was where 
Santiago was hiding though, and cost whatever it must, the old vampire had to 
fall.

put you back to the main menu and you load the level you want to play.

Unfortunately you won't be able to buy or sell any weapons on this level so you 
will have make do with what you have or pick up.  Santiago won't send any 
enemies to attack you other than the usual 2 or 3 gangers when you take over 
one of his neighbourhoods

* Roadway Corner
* Green Rally Point
* Easy Street
* Upper Street
* Butterfly Backyard
* Hemmingsen Way
* Diamond Point

As soon as you enter Willys Street or Uptown Corner El Lobo will resurrect and 
come after you.  He won't resurrect and so just wait for him and kill him.  
When you have taken the neighbourhoods over, apart from Santiago Tower, kill 
all the gangers around the building.  Then to win the game just call on your 
offensive powers (crimescene, task force, sniper, call Robbie, assassin) and 
you'll probably kill Santiago without having to attack him yourself.  

The ending and mission is the same regardless of the character you use.
