1.2. About the game [1.2]
*************************
In this game you take control of an emerging demolition company in a large
city. A multitude of missions lead you to various demolition sites in different
districts of the city. You take a seat behind the steering wheel of a variety
of detailed construction and demolition machines. You bring old buildings to
the ground with wrecking balls and excavators. You place explosive charges or
tear down walls manually with the jackhammer. You can invest the earned money
in new vehicles which in turn unlock new assignments in the city and tutorials
in your company's practice area.

This game is different from the subsequently released Demolition Company: Gold
Edition because it doesn't have the DLC as standard, doesn't have the airport
set of missions and also doesn't have the dump truck.

**************************
4.1. Starting career [4.1]
**************************
It's time to start a career. Click on the career option from the main menu.
There are 6 save slots where you can save your game and there are three
difficulty levels.

Easy - On Easy you receive more money and experience points. This allows you to
advance much faster and you don't have to complete all assignments,
Normal - Normal is the best choice for most players new to the game.
Hard - If you are up for a challenge, try the Hard difficulty. You have to
complete almost all assignments in order to reach the very top.

I played the game on normal. (It said it was the best choice for me so who was
I to argue?) That means all the below relate to the normal difficulty.

As you begin you will see an animation. Your house is in Evergreen Terrance,
and is continently situated opposite the demolition company HQ. Walk across to
there. On the way you will notice that there is a stats tracker in the top
right hand side of the screen. This shows your progress and right now will be
saying the following:

Capital: $1,000
Experience points: 0
Level: 0
Rank: Rookie
XP for next level: 1,000
Completed missions: 0
Aborted missions: 0

Your capital enables you to buy new tools and vehicles. More capital can be
earned through completing missions.

Your experience points (XP) help you up levels and can be gained from
completing missions. Increased levels will mean you gain access to more of the
city districts giving you more (and better) things to destroy.

The levels unlock new bits of the game. Here are the levels:
Level 0 is where you start at.
Level 1 (earned after 1,000 XP) unlocks the first city district (Old Town) for
you.
Level 2 (earned after 2,000 XP) unlocks the Industrial District for you. Also
unlocks the ability to purchase the pickaxe and Explosives Level 1 from
DestructoMart.
Level 3 (earned after 4,000 XP) unlocks the Freight Yard for you. Also unlocks
the ability to purchase the Jackhammer 'Hornet', Crawler Excavator and
Explosives Level 2 from DestructoMart.
Level 4 (earned after 8,000 XP) unlocks the Financial District for you. Also
unlocks the ability to purchase the Explosives Level 3 from DestructoMart.
Level 5 (earned after 16,000 XP) unlocks the Port for you. Also unlocks the
sonic blaster for you to buy.
Level 6 (earned after 32,000 XP) unlocks the ability to freely select vehicles
for all missions. For example it allows you to play an assignment which was
initially intended for an excavator, with a wrecking ball. At level 6 you will
additionally get to use the shovel version of the crawler excavator.
Additionally, you will access to the so-called Mod District. In this district
you can find missions that created by other players.
Level 7 (earned after 64,000 XP).
Level 8 (earned after 128,000 XP).

Your rank moves up with your level:
Level 0: Rookie
Level 1: Amateur
Level 2: Upstart
Level 3: Entrepreneur
Level 4: Adept
Level 5: Engineer
Level 6: Expert
Level 7: Veteran
Level 8: Luminary

Now you will have walked across to the Demolition Company HQ but you wouldn't
have been allowed in there because they need you to take your tutorials first.
These are available in the large practice area beside the HQ. We'll go there in
a minute but a bit further along is DestructoMart. This is where you will go to
buy your equipment and vehicles when you earn money so that you can take on
bigger jobs. The next section shows what they have available:

************************
4.2. DestructoMart [4.2]
************************
Here is the equipment available from DestructoMart. Buy it as it becomes
available to you so that more assignments are open to you.

4.2.1. Vehicles [4.2.1]
4.2.2. Hand Tools [4.2.2]

***********************
4.2.1. Vehicles [4.2.1]
***********************
Without vehicles you will never get far in Demolition Company. The following
machines can be acquired at the DestructoMart:

1. Mini Excavator
2. Skid Steer Leader
3. Wheel Excavator
4. Small Wrecking Ball
5. Large Wrecking Ball
6. Crawler Excavator
7. Wheel Loader

Mini Excavator:
The mini excavator is part of your starting equipment. Due to the short reach
of its arm, this vehicle is mainly suitable for smaller buildings only.
Price: ALREADY IN YOUR POSSESSION.

Skid Steer Loader:
The compressor of this vehicle is attached to an arm that can only be moved
vertically. The skid steer loader's compact shape makes it manoeuvrable and
stable.
Price: $60,000

Wheel Excavator:
Compared to the mini excavator, this vehicle comes with a longer arm that
allows you to work on larger buildings. The wheel excavator is considerably
faster, too.
Price: $80,000

Small Wrecking Ball:
With the right momentum, a wrecking ball can destroy entire walls with a single
blow.
This vehicle can be used in several ways. Consult the corresponding tutorial to
learn them.
Price: $120,000

Large Wrecking Ball:
As the name already suggests, this impressive wrecking ball is ideal for
bringing down larger structures. Its penetration power is significantly
superior to the small version's.
Price: $240,000

Crawler Excavator:
This is the largest excavator available in the game. When you acquire this
vehicle you will also get two additional versions: One version comes with a
shovel instead of a compressor, and the other variant has an extended arm which
allows you to work on even taller buildings.
Price: $260,000
Required Level 3

Wheel Loader:
Some assignments require that you move debris to a certain spot. This is a job
the wheel loader was made for.
You can also use it to dump rubble into the debris crusher.
Price: $100,000

*************************
4.2.2. Hand Tools [4.2.2]
*************************
Sometimes it is advisable to leave the vehicle and start working on structures
directly with your hand tools.

1. Sledgehammer
2. Jackhammer 'Wolf'
3. Jackhammer 'Hornet'
4. Explosives Level 1
5. Explosives Level 2
6. Explosives Level 3
7. Sonic Blaster

Sledgehammer:
The sledgehammer is part of your starting equipment. Batter pieces of rubble in
order to pulverize them.
The hammer comes in handy if a vehicle gets stuck in debris and you need to
free it.
Price: ALREADY IN YOUR POSSESSION

Jackhammer 'Wolf':
This is the tool of choice when you are working on foot. The jackhammer allows
you to knock chucks out of walls until they collapse.
Price: $3,000

Explosives:
You can attach explosives to walls and, once you have gained a safe distance,
activate them with the detonator.
With increasing experience you gain access to three different levels of
explosives which differ in strength.
There are three levels of explosive:

Explosives level 1:
This is the entry-level version of explosives. Their blast force is comparably
weak, but by placing charges at the right spots you can achieve effective
detonations nonetheless.
Price: $5,000
Required Level: 2

Explosives Level 2:
This level is used for more stable structures. The stronger blast force allows
you to work more efficiently. The costs for each detonated charge are
considerably higher, though.
Price: $10,000
Required Level: 4

Explosives Level 3:
This is the most powerful version. Be careful not to place too many charges,
otherwise the explosion might get too unpredictable.
Price: $20,000
Required Level: 5

Sonic Blaster:
This appliance might look like a leaf blower, but it does way more than just
move around a couple of leaves.
The sonic blaster is a highly experimental device only a few chosen experts are
allowed to handle. Are you one of them?
Price: $1,000,000
Required Level: 5

Now we know what tools and vehicles are available it's time to start the
tutorials which will be the first of your assignments.

********************
4.3. Tutorials [4.3]
********************
Inside there are seven tutorials. At the moment though you can only do the
first two. The other 5 can only be done once you have bought the relevant
tools. These can be bought from the building that isn't too far from the HQ,
the DestructoMart. They can also be bought in game when they are offered but
it's worth paying them a visit anyway. A description of the vehicles and hand
tools in the game is available above.

Completing the tutorials will give you XP but not money.

The two tutorials available to you at the beginning are:
Sledgehammer
Mini excavator

Here are the eight tutorials:
4.3.1. Tutorial 1/7: Sledgehammer [4.3.1]
4.3.2. Tutorial 2/7: Mini Excavator [4.3.2]
4.3.3. Tutorial 3/7: Jackhammer [4.3.3]
4.3.4. Tutorial 4/7: Explosives [4.3.4]
4.3.5. Tutorial 5/7: Skid Steer Loader [4.3.5]
4.3.6. Tutorial 6/7: Wrecking Ball [4.3.6]
4.3.7. Tutorial 7/7: Wheel Loader [4.3.7]

*****************************************
4.3.1. Tutorial 1/7: Sledgehammer [4.3.1]
*****************************************
Familiarize yourself with the sledgehammer with the sledgehammer in this
training mission.

Since its impact solely depends on your strength, it's rather slow compared to
the other tools. However only the sledgehammer allows you to completely
pulverize pieces of rubble.

XP bonus: 700/700 (Easy: 900, Hard: 500)
Time limit: -
Money bonus on success: -
Time bonus: -

Required equipment for this mission: Sledgehammer.

Walkthrough:
There are 4 parts to this mission. You do these in order. The first part is the
brick. There is a brick in front of you. You need to pulverize it by swinging
your sledgehammer at it. Once done more on to the next part of the mission: The
Wall. Here you need to break the wall. The next part is called the collapse,
where there is a structure with pillars and you need to break the pillars.
(Don't worry about standing under the structure as it falls because you have a
helmet on so suffer no injury.) The fourth part is called Whack a brick. Here
there are a number of bricks to pulverize and a number of bricks that are not
to be pulverized. You can tell which is which by pressing G on the keyboard.
This highlights the bricks you need to destroy as green and the ones that you
shouldn't destroy as red.

Now each part of the mission successfully completed you will have filled up
your green bar (each part being a quarter of the bar). If you had failed you
would have filled up the red bar.

*******************************************
4.3.2. Tutorial 2/7: Mini Excavator [4.3.2]
*******************************************
The mini excavator is part of your starting equipment. This tutorial shows you
how to steer the vehicle, its boom and the attached compressor.

***************************************
(You are missing this equipment at beginning so need to buy before doing this
mission.)
Strategically placed explosive charges can bring down entire buildings in a
controlled and efficient manner. This tutorial shows you how to use explosives.

Pyrotechnic material must be handled with care. Miscalculated detonations could
send debris flying in all directions and damage nearby buildings.

XP bonus: 1,200/1,200

4.3.5. Tutorial 5/7: Skid Steer Loader [4.3.5]
**********************************************
(You are missing this equipment at beginning so need to buy before doing this
mission.)
The skid steer loader has lift arms that can only be moved vertically. it's a
very compact and agile machine.

The skid steer loader is often used in areas too narrow for larger vehicles.

although you may get stuck in which case you need to use your hand tools to
free the vehicle.

******************************************
4.3.6. Tutorial 6/7: Wrecking Ball [4.3.6]
******************************************

way is to swing the wrecking ball both back and forth and side to side.

*****************************************
4.3.7. Tutorial 7/7: Wheel Loader [4.3.7]
*****************************************
(You are missing this equipment at beginning so need to buy before doing this
mission.)
The wheel loader is mainly used to transport debris. Its spacious bucket can
hold rubble of nearly any size.

Due to the loader's articulated frame steering the turning behaviour is quite
different compared to the other vehicles. Play this training mission to get
familiar with the wheel loader.

XP bonus: 3,000/3,000
Time limit: -
Money bonus on success: -
Time bonus: -

Required equipment for this mission: Wheel Loader.

Walkthrough:
First there is a course you have to drive along with six numbered waypoints. Do
this and stay between the cones. Then you come to the next part of the tutorial
called Debris Crusher. Here you need to demolish the structure in front of you
and transport the rubble to the debris crusher. Once enough debris is crushed
the tutorial is complete.

*********************
4.4 Assignments [4.4]
*********************
After completing the first two tutorials you can now access the Demolition
Company HQ. Inside the main office is the city map. The green pins on the map
depict districts that you already have access to. Golden pins stand for
districts you have recently unlocked. Red pins are districts which you cannot
access because you have not reached the required level yet.

Select a district on the map to see the available missions there. Each
assignment requires certain vehicles and tools. If you do not own these, you
can acquire them directly at the mission selection screen (if you have enough
money) or you can go to DestructoMart.

Click on start to accept a mission. While the game is loading, a series of
illustrated directions explain what you need to do in order to complete the
assignment. Once the mission has started you can always consult these
directions by pressing escape.

During an assignment several bars in the bottom right corner inform you about
the mission's current status:

The topmost bar displays the amount of money you have already earned in this
mission.

The grey bar shows the time remaining. If you finish a mission within the given
time limit, you receive an additional bonus. However, you can still finish a
mission successfully even after the time has run out.

The green bar tracks your progress in the mission. Once it is full, the mission
is considered a success.

The red bar stands for collateral damage you caused. If it gets full, the
assignment is a failure and ends prematurely. A botched mission only earns you
half the experience points. Luckily, you can always replay a failed mission,
and when you complete it you also get the other half of the XP.

After each mission a stats screen will come up showing you how you fared you
the fee and XP you earned in the mission. It'll also show you how many piles of
scrap metal you picked up during the assignment. Each pile you collect gets you
a sum of money. If you manage to find all the piles in a mission, you receive
an additional bonus.

The assignments are split into districts which are viewable from the city map.
The districts are:

4.4.1. Old Town [4.4.1]

***********************
4.4.1. Old Town [4.4.1]
***********************
Your first batch of assignments take you to a construction site in the old
town.

This is your chance to make a name for yourself and to grab the attention of
clients in other areas.
(Required Level: 1)

There are 5 assignments in this area. These are:
4.4.1.1. Breakthrough [4.4.1.1]
4.4.1.2. Vertigo [4.4.1.2]
4.4.1.3. Police Station [4.4.1.3]
4.4.1.4. Explosive [4.4.1.4]
4.4.1.5. Balconies Away! [4.4.1.5]

*******************************
4.4.1.1. Breakthrough [4.4.1.1]
*******************************
Smack in the middle of the construction site there is an old building that has
been vacant for years. Construction work already began several months ago, as
authorities took their sweet time granting permission to demolish this old
house.

To prepare the demolition, you have to locate all the walls that have been
marked with spray paint and tear them down with your sledgehammer. The green
bar in the lower right corner indicates how much more you need to destroy.

Be on the lookout for still usable scrap metal and secure it before it gets
stolen.

XP bonus: 900/900
Time limit: 8 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $4,000
Time bonus: $2,000

Required equipment for this mission: Sledgehammer.

Walkthrough:
This is straightforward. Enter the building and knock out the marked walls.

You may also want to collect the 16 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment
too. These are at:
8 are in the building you need to knock walls down inside.
3 are in the other tall building on the site.
1 is in the small building on the site (used to be a police station).
1 is behind a rubble pile.
1 is near the perimeter where there is a Frizzy Spizz Xtreem advertising
hoarding.
1 is on top of a skip.
1 is on the top of a metal crate. You need to jump on the fence support and
then jump from there onto the top of the crate.

**************************
4.4.1.2. Vertigo [4.4.1.2]
**************************
Your next step is to dismantle the small hut on the building's roof. This is a
task for your jackhammer.

Be careful working up there and avoid debris from dropping off the roof. The
red bar in the bottom right corner glows with each piece of rubble which falls
to the ground, and if it fills up entirely, the mission is considered a
failure.

Should you fall off the roof by accident, do not worry: In Demolition Company
you cannot get injured.

XP bonus: 1,000/1,000
Time limit: 8 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $6,000
Time bonus: $3,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer.

Walkthrough:
This is straightforward. Enter the building, go to the top, collapse the hut.
Make it collapse inwards so that the bits don't start falling over the edge.

You may also want to collect the 8 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
2 are in the building you need to climb (one on the roof of the hut you need to
knock down and one on the bed).
1 is on a rubble pile.
1 is on the rubble pile on the corner of the site that has been cordoned off.
1 is near the perimeter where there is a Bread Man Bakery advertising hoarding.
1 is under the half-built building.
1 is behind the police station.
1 is in the corner of the site behind the other tall building you can climb.

*********************************
4.4.1.3. Police Station [4.4.1.3]
*********************************
There is a small building on the construction site which supposedly used to be
a police station. Evidently, it hasn't been used by anyone for decades, and you
are allowed to raze it to the ground.

Get behind the steering wheel of your mini excavator and start breaking down
the old walls.

If your vehicle gets stuck in the debris, you can dislodge obstructing pieces
of rubble with your sledgehammer.

XP bonus: 1,200/1,200
Time limit: 11 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $10,000
Time bonus: $5,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Mini Excavator.

Walkthrough:
This is straightforward too. Enter the mini excavator and knock down the old
police station.

You may also want to collect the 6 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is behind the police station.
2 are in the main building (1 on sofa, 1 on roof).
2 are in the other tall building.
1 is on a second-level girder of the half-built building. You need to knock
this off using the arm of the mini-excavator.

****************************
4.4.1.4. Explosive [4.4.1.4]
****************************
Due to an unexpectedly fierce storm, part of the building's top floor has
already collapsed. Thanks to this incident the building's detonation has been
given the green light.

Place explosive charges in the building and activate the detonator once you
have reached a safe distance.

Try to conduct the detonation in a controlled manner and prevent debris from
flying out of the construction site or colliding with nearby buildings.

XP bonus: 1,400/1,400
Time limit: 6 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $24,000
Time bonus: $6,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Explosives Level 1.

Walkthrough:
Go into the building, lay all your 3 charges (I did ground floor near the doors
and windows). Then detonate. Once done if the building has failed to collapse
then go in and lay your 3 charges again. Hopefully it'll collapse now but if
not repeat until it does.

You may also want to collect the 5 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is on the ground floor of the building you need to detonate.
1 is under the half-built building.
1 is on the ground floor of the other building you can climb up.
1 is on the pile of rubble beside the debris crusher.
1 is behind the metal huts in the corner of the site.

**********************************
4.4.1.5. Balconies Away! [4.4.1.5]
**********************************
It was recently discovered that the balconies of the buildings being
constructed in the southwest do not meet safety standards.

You need to use the crawler excavator for this task as it is the only vehicle
with a boom long enough to reach the topmost balcony.

This assignment is a challenge since you should leave the building's facade as
intact as possible.

XP bonus: 1,600/1,600
Time limit: 10 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $32,000
Time bonus: $12,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Crawler Excavator.

Walkthrough:
One way of doing this is with the crawler excavator; the other is from the
inside of the building with the jackhammer. The second of these is probably
easier for minimising damage for this delicate operation.

You may also want to collect the 6 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
2 are in the building with the balconies.
1 is next to the cement mixer.
1 is next to the noodles advert.
2 are on the second floor of the half built building. To get up there you need
to climb the arm of the strategically-placed crawler excavator.

**********************************
4.4.2. Industrial District [4.4.2]
**********************************
Outside the city there is an old industrial district whose factories have been
vacant for decades.

The crumbling buildings must give way to modern constructions and you take
charge of their demolition.
(Required Level: 2)

There are 5 assignments in this area. These are:
4.4.2.1. Substation [4.4.2.1]

*****************************
4.4.2.1. Substation [4.4.2.1]
*****************************
Your first mission in the industrial area is quite simple. Destroy one of the
old electric power substations.

For this assignment you use the skid steer loader which is ideal for
demolishing smaller buildings.

XP bonus: 1,800/1,800
Time limit: 8 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $20,000
Time bonus: $10,000

Required equipment for this mission: Skid Steer Loader.

Walkthrough:
Go ahead and destroy the building. it's the one with the windows already taken
out. You can destroy it with the boom or by driving through it, although you
may get stuck in which case you need to use your hand tools to free the
vehicle.

You may also want to collect the 9 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is in the substation you need to demolish.
1 is in the train.
1 is in the building on the corner of the lower level of the site next to the
WISK advertising hoarding.
1 is on the other corner of the lower level on a rubble pile.
1 is next to the chimney.
1 is in the tall, half-demolished building in the middle of the lower level.
1 is next to the steps that take you to the upper level.
1 is in the corner of the upper level behind the building near the one you
demolish.
1 is behind the red structure near the train. You need to drop in here from the
level above.

******************************
4.4.2.2. Job Sharing [4.4.2.2]
******************************
This assignment is somewhat unusual thanks to a peculiar contract wording: You
are to demolish the pictured (not here but in the intro screen to the
assignment) factory with one condition: Half of the walls must remain standing.
The rest will be torn down later by a competing company.

Use the wrecking ball for this task and be careful not to damage the wrong
half. If things get tricky, you can also get out of the vehicle and use your
hand tools.

XP bonus: 2,000/2,000
Time limit: 8 min 20 sec
Money bonus on success: $35,000
Time bonus: $20,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Small Wrecking Ball, Mini
Excavator, Wheel Loader.

Walkthrough:
Go ahead and destroy the half of the building for which you are meant to.

You may also want to collect the 6 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is on the pile of rubble on the upper level.
1 is behind the small building in the corner on the upper level of the site.
1 is in one of the small buildings near the railway and gates of the site.
1 is inside the train carriage.
1 is on the top of the half of the factory that you aren't meant to destroy.
You can knock it down with the wrecking ball if you want.
1 is on the roof of the building next to the factory. You can position the
wheel loader between the adjacent wall and the building s that you can jump
across.

**********************************
4.4.2.3. The Final Sweep [4.4.2.3]
**********************************
The 40 metres smokestack needs to be demolished with explosives today.

This calls for your experience as an expert blaster: Can you make the
smokestack collapse in a controlled manner without scattering debris everywhere
within a radius of two kilometres.

XP bonus: 3,200/3,200
Time limit: 5 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $20,000
Time bonus: $15,000

Required equipment for this mission: Explosives Level 3.

Walkthrough:
The way I did this was to use the level 1 explosives and place 5 of them around
the bottom of the chimney, all a roughly equal length from each other so that
they went all the way around the bottom. Stand back and explode. Now you may
need to blow up the bigger parts of the chimney that are left into smaller
pieces.

You may also want to collect the 5 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is on the step of the building on the upper level.
1 is between the wall and the railway pylon.
1 is behind the square building on the lower level.
1 is on the pile of rubble next to the debris crusher on the lower level.
1 is inside the chimney. You can get it when you knock the chimney down.

******************************
4.4.2.4. Roof Damage [4.4.2.4]
******************************
You get the assignment to destroy the flat roof of the western building. The
walls are to be left unscathed, if possible.

Pull the wrecking ball's rope and let the ball drop onto the roof several
times. The roof's border pieces can be removed with the excavator.

XP bonus: 2,800/2,800
Time limit: 6 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $20,000
Time bonus: $15,000

Required equipment for this mission: Mini Excavator, Large Wrecking Ball.

Walkthrough:
Just use the Ctrl key to lower the wrecking ball once in position above the
roof and use the p key to lift it back up again. Keep bashing that roof until
the green bar is full.

You may also want to collect the 7 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
2 are in the building you are demolishing.
1 is by the gates of the site near the WISK advert.
1 is on the train platform.
1 is in the red walled structure in the corner of the lower level of the site
(you can drop in from above).
1 is on the pile of rubble on the upper level.
1 is on the roof of the 2-storey white building on the upper level. Climb up
the wrecking ball's arm to get this one.

************************************
4.4.2.5. Fall of the Walls [4.4.2.5]
************************************
Nobody really remembers what purpose the walls in the two corners of the
factory once served. You however, remember quite well that these walls need
tearing down.

Due to the height of the walls you will need to use the large wrecking ball for
this mission.

XP bonus: 2,400/2,400
Time limit: 8 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $20,000
Time bonus: $20,000

Required equipment for this mission: Large Wrecking Ball.

Walkthrough:
You can lower the wrecking ball's arm and ram those walls if you want to get
them down quickly.

You may also want to collect the 8 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is in one of the buildings you have to demolish.
1 is in the other one of the buildings you need to demolish.
1 is under the lamppost next to the El Taco advert.
1 is in the corner of the site next to the railway.
1 is next to the rubble pile in the corner of the upper level.
1 is behind the 2-storey building on the upper level.
1 is on the top of the small hut next to railway just up the ramp. You can
climb the wrecking ball arm to get this one.
1 is on top of the perimeter wall in the corner. You can get there from the top
of the hut.

***************************
4.4.3. Freight Yard [4.4.3]
***************************
There are large scale plans to renovate the southern freight yard, but first,
some of the old structures need to be torn down.

All assignments in this area take place at night so as not to interrupt the
regular train schedule.
(Required Level: 3)

There are 5 assignments in this area. These are:
4.4.3.1. Monument Preservation [4.4.3.1]
4.4.3.2. Time Stands Still... [4.4.3.2]
4.4.3.3. Unpreserved [4.4.3.3]
4.4.3.4. Support Domino [4.4.3.4]
4.4.3.5. To the Tower! [4.4.3.5]

****************************************
4.4.3.1. Monument Preservation [4.4.3.1]
****************************************
The old station building has been in disuse for years and it evidently looks
that way. Since it's apparently under a preservation order it needs to remain
untouched, for now.

The awning, however, is under no such preservation order and you can tear it
down. Use the wheel excavator's compressor and try to keep any damage to the
main building to a minimum.

Push the resulting debris with the wheel loader into the freight wagons which
are positioned near the platform's border.

XP bonus: 3,600/3,600
Time limit: 8 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $15,000
Time bonus: $10,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Wheel Excavator, Wheel Loader.

Walkthrough:
Knock down the awning delicately and slowly with the wheel excavator. Then get
in the wheel loader and push the debris into those wagons.

You may also want to collect the 8 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is in the building you are taking the awning off.
1 is in the nearest freight wagon.
1 is at the top of the stairs inside the tower.
1 is under the green train.
1 is in the other building without a roof.
1 is on the rubble pile next to the tower.
1 is on the step of the building near the El Taco sign.
1 is hidden under leaves in the corner of the site by the railway gates.

***************************************
4.4.3.2. Time Stands Still... [4.4.3.2]
***************************************
Time's up for the old clock tower in the north. You received the assignment to
blow it up.

Plan the detonation carefully. The railway tracks should remain clear of any
debris. If too many pieces of rubble get into the tracks, you will fail the
mission.

XP bonus: 4,000/4,000
Time limit: 4 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $20,000
Time bonus: $10,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Explosives Level 2.

Walkthrough:
Go into the clock tower. You need to lay down the charges on the same side as
the railway. This is because the blast will send the building toppling the
other way. Once you've lain your level 2 charges up and down the building get
out and detonate. Keep detonating until mission is complete but remember to
place the charges on the railway side so that the blast sends the debris away
from it.

You may also want to collect the 6 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is under the buffers near the red carriage that is on its own.
1 is under the underhand of the red building on the lower perimeter of the site
near the trains.
1 is on the pile of rubble near the Bread Man Bakery advertising hoarding.
1 is under the tree.
1 is on the step of the building near the El Taco advertising hoarding on the
upper level.
1 is on the pile of rubble next to the debris crusher.

******************************
4.4.3.3. Unpreserved [4.4.3.3]
******************************
A bit of research in the city archive revealed that the station building isn't
under any preservation order after all. Time to make it level with the ground.

Use the wrecking ball and the wheel loader as you like. You can even use the
compressor and try to bring down the station by hand. Explosives are not
allowed though, because residents were complaining about the noise.

Once you've demolished the building, you can push the rubble into the freight
wagons.

XP bonus: 4,400/4,400
Time limit: 11 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $25,000
Time bonus: $12,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer, Small Wrecking Ball, Wheel
Loader.

Walkthrough:
Go and demolish the building - you can use the small wrecking ball arm as a
battering ram if you want to do it quickly. Then use the wheel loader to move
the rubble into he wagons. Once enough is in the wagons then the assignment
will be complete.

You may also want to collect the 6 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is on the roof of building you are demolishing.
1 is in the building you are demolishing.
1 is on top of the building with no roof - you can climb up the arm of the
wrecking ball to get it.
1 is on the roof of the building at the bottom of the ramps.
1 is under one of the bridge supports.
1 is by the freight wagons on the rails.

*********************************
4.4.3.4. Support Domino [4.4.3.4]
*********************************
In the east there are parts of an overhead road which never got completed due
to financial problems and poor planning. The supports have become increasingly
unstable and need to be detonated now.

As always, you need to be careful where to place the explosive charge: There
are buildings nearby that should not be damaged by any debris flying their way.

XP bonus: 4,800/4,800
Time limit: 6 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $25,000
Time bonus: $15,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer 'Hornet', Explosives Level 3.

Walkthrough:
The way I did this one is I placed a level 1 explosive charge on each support
on the building side (so that the blast sent everything the other way). I
detonated and they fell. Then you may need to break up some of the bigger
pieces into smaller pieces with more explosives.

You may also want to collect the 8 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is under the tree in the dead-end bit at the edge of the site.
1 is next to the metal huts.
1 is on the rubble pile next to the Bowl of Noodles big flavour advertising
hoarding.
1 is on the pile of rubble next to the debris crusher.
1 is on the platform next to the green train.
1 is on the step of the red building next to the tree.
1 is on the second level of the small building next to the tree, you need to
jump up there.
1 is on top of the middle part of the bridge. You can collect it once it falls
down.

********************************
4.4.3.5. The Last Step [4.4.3.5]
********************************
Your remaining task in the freight yard is to remove those old walls.

You can choose to use the mini excavator or the skid steer loader as you
prefer. You also need to transport part of the rubble to the debris crusher.

XP bonus: 5,200/5,200
Time limit: 10 min 0 sec
Money bonus on success: $25,000
Time bonus: $16,000

Required equipment for this mission: Jackhammer 'Hornet', Mini Excavator, Skid
Steer Loader, Wheel Loader.

Walkthrough:
You could use the wheel loader to knock down the building, that way you can
pick up some debris straight away to transport to the debris crusher. Continue
until the building is knocked down and 20 pieces of rubble have gone into the
crusher.

You may also want to collect the 6 pieces of scrap metal in the assignment too.
These are at:
1 is in the building you are demolishing.
1 is on the rubble pile near the Bread Man Bakery advert.
1 is under the overhanging part of the side building.
1 is on the building next to the tree. You need to climb and jump up here.
1 is on the back step of the other building next to the tree.
1 is on the side-wall next to this building.

*********************************
4.4.4. Financial District [4.4.4]
*********************************
The planned renovations in the financial district open some lucrative
opportunities for you.

Among other things you'll be demolishing a movie theatre and parts of a parking
garage.
(Required Level: 4)

There are 4 assignments in this area. These are:
4.4.4.1. Breaking the Fourth Wall [4.4.4.1]
4.4.4.2. Going Down [4.4.4.2]

*******************************************
4.4.4.1. Breaking the Fourth Wall [4.4.4.1]
*******************************************
The disused movie theatre in the financial district has been crumbling for
years and is now just a shell of what it once was.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to demolish the building and clear
away most of the debris with the wheel loader.

You can switch between wrecking ball and excavator, depending on the part of

advertisement campaign and he gave you detailed instructions on how to go about
destroying the building.
