CHAPTER 1 - INTRODUCTION

************************

Well, if your reading this, then my quest for writing a guide and a review for
all 12 SCUMM games is going well. I finally have Full Throttle, I am only
missing one game, The Dig. But I can worry about that once I have finished a
guide for all the other SCUMM games. I am getting there, and won't stop at any
thing to get my guides on, Monkey Island 2 took me a while to get on, hopefully
this didn't. Day of the Tentacle is the sequel to Maniac Mansion, created by
Tim Schafer, who made a couple of the SCUMM games, like Full Throttle. This is a
great game, although Ron Gilbert didn't have much to do with it, this game has
it all. Weird story line, great design, graphics, music, humour, and is really
fun! Lets get on with the guide!

CHAPTER 2 - WALKTHROUGH

***********************

Straight onto the walkthrough. None of that how to play or characters and story
line stuff, you can read that inside the INSTRUCTION MANUAL. Playing DOTT is
pretty simple anyways. This is a full walkthrough, all COMMANDS are in caps,
and so are items. For example, PICK UP the FLYER is an example. Hope this helps
you more! Through out DOTT, you will control different characters, when you do,
I just put down BERNARD: then how to complete the section as him. It's pretty
simple really.

BERNARD:

After the introduction, you will start inside the lobby of the Mansion. There
are quite a couple of items you will be wanting to PICK UP. First, PICK UP the
FLIER, which is near the bottom left of the screen, then PICK UP the HELP WANTED
SIGN which is in the window just to the left of the FLIER. LOOK AT the pay phone
behind the counter, and PICK UP the DIME. OPEN the door to the left of the pay
phone, and PICK UP the SWISS BANKBOOK from the desk. OPEN the desk draw, and
PICK UP the BOOBOO-B-GONE™. Go back to the lobby, and OPEN the grand father
clock. After the cut-scene, you will regain control of Bernard. Head upstairs,
and back into the lobby. PICK UP the items you need in case you missed any,
then OPEN the double doors with the WELCOME sign above it. Here, OPEN the
grating not far from you, and head to the right. After the guy talks to you, go
to the right, and PICK UP the CHATTERING TEETH. They will run off to the left,
keep walking towards them and eventually they will get stuck in the grating, so
PICK UP the CHATTERING TEETH now. Go through the door to the left of the grating
into the kitchen. PICK UP the FORK, the DECAF COFFEE and the COFFEE, the FORK is
on the table, and the DECAF COFFEE and COFFEE are to the left of the table in
the pots. Go through the door to the right of the swinging door to find the
laundry room. OPEN the pink cabinet and PICK UP the FUNNEL. Go back to the party
room, and click on the open fire place. At the top, PICK UP the CRANK at the
bottom of the flag pole.

Go through the right window, OPEN it if you need to, then go out of this room to
the right, and down the trapdoor, you might have to OPEN this too. Then, OPEN
the door on the right, and go through. You will find Weird Ed Edison, when you
can talk, say lines 4, 4 and then PICK UP the HAMSTER. Leave this room, and in
the hallway, go down the stairs and the end. In this hallway, go through the
first door on the left, it has an F on it. You can't really see it well, but the
two other doors have R and W on. OPEN the F door, and go through. Say line 4 to
the Green Tentacle, and then PUSH the right speaker. Head over to the left
speaker, and USE the turn on/off button. When you get control, PICK UP the VIDEO
TAPE on the stereo, then USE the turn on/off button again. Leave the room, and
walk over to the W door. OPEN the ice machine, and USE the HAMSTER with it, then
CLOSE it. OPEN the W door, and go through. Here, CLOSE the door and PICK UP the
KEYS stuck inside the door. USE the television, and you will see that a REAL
diamond is being sold for 2 million dollars. Leave the room, head downstairs
into the lobby, and leave through the front door. Go to the right, and you will
see a guy trying to break into a pink car. GIVE the KEYS to the man in a ski
mask, and he will give you the CROWBAR. Go back into the Mansion, and PICK UP
the FAKE BARF. Then, USE the CROWBAR with the GUM WITH DIME STUCK IN IT to get
that item. USE the GUM WITH DIME STUCK IN IT and you will then have GUM and the
DIME as seperate items. Go through the grand father clock, and inside the
basement, PICK UP the battery plans to the right on that board. When Dr Fred
looks at the plans, you will need to correct them. To do this, look at the PAT
number at the top, and get out your DOTT manual. Find the copy protection bit,
and then find the picture with a matching PAT number under it. Then change the
picture so it matches the picture in the book. It's pretty simple really. Once
you are finished, click on the corner of the page (the bottom right bit) and
watch the rest of the cut-scene. As soon as you control Hoagie, click on the
little face of Bernard straight away. Flush the TEXTBOOK to Hoagie, switch to
him and PICK UP the TEXTBOOK. Repeat this with the FLIER, HELP WANTED SIGN and
the CHATTERING TEETH. Switch to Hoagie.

HOAGIE:

Once you have all of the items from above, go to the left down the path, and
towards the mansion. OPEN the mailbox and PICK UP the LETTER. OPEN the front
door, and go through. Inside the mansion, don't talk to the mummy, but carry on
and OPEN the grand father clock. When your inside the basement, GIVE the BATTERY
PLANS to Red Edison, and PICK UP the LEFT HANDED HAMMER to the left of him. Go
back to the lobby, and go through the double doors into the lobby. Go into the
kitchen, and PICK UP the OIL and the SPAGHETTI. OPEN the door to the right and
go into the laundry room. PICK UP the BUCKET, then OPEN the red cabinet to the
left, and PICK UP the BRUSH. Go back into the kitchen, and USE the BUCKET with
the water pump. Go into the party room, and go up the chimney. Go through the
left window, and into a bedroom. USE the bed nearest the cat, then USE the
squeaky matress with the other beds matress to switch them. After that, USE the
bed furthest from the cat, and it will come over. Quickly PICK UP the SQUEKY
MOUSE TOY. PICK UP the RED PAINT, and go through the trapdoor to the right of
where the cat is siting. USE the TEXTBOOK with the horse, then PICK UP the
DENTURES when he puts them into the glass. Go through the door behind you, and
say line 4. After, PICK UP his RIGHT HANDED HAMMER when he puts it down, and USE
the LEFT HANDED LADDER with the barrel. After the cut-scene, you will of changed
the statue! Anyways, go out of this room, and down the stairs at the end of the
hall.

Go through the first door to the left, and PICK UP the BOTTLE OF WINE. Exit this
room, and go through the last door in this hallway to the left. USE the bed to
mess it all up. PULL the rope to the left, and when the maid comes, go outside
of the room. USE the BUCKET OF WATER with the soap on her cart, then go down
stairs, and exit the mansion. Go to the right, and follow the path to the Ye
Olde Outhouse. USE the RED PAINT with the kumkwat tree to the left, then USE the
LETTER with the toilet on the chron-o-john. Now, go back to the mansion, and
to the party room. USE the FLIER with the suggestion box, and George will check
it out. After this, TALK TO George, and select lines 1, then select 2 after that
all the time. He will chop your tree down for you, and Laverne will become free!
USE the RED PAINT with the chron-o-john, then go back to the mansion. USE the
WINE BOTTLE with the time capsule on the table inside the party room, then
switch to Laverne.

LAVERNE:

Once you gain control, TALK TO the purple tentacle to the left, and say line 3
to get into the doctors room. After he has finished talking, and he leaves, PICK
UP the TENTACLE CHART from the right wall. Go through the door, and try to leave
through the single door to the left. A tentacle will stop you and return you to
the room you started in. TALK TO the purple tentacle again, and say line 2 and
you will be outside. Go to the right, to where the chron-o-john is. USE the
TENTACLE CHART with the chron-o-john, and switch to Hoagie, and pick it up. Send
the SCAPEL to Bernard. Switch to Bernard.

BERNARD:

Send Laverne the FAKE BARF, the FORK, the BOOBOO-B-GONE™ and the CRANK. Now,
go right, and USE the DECAF COFFEE with the doctors mug. After he falls asleep
and starts wandering around, and exit the basement. Go up the right stairs,
and enter the room with R on it. GIVE the LETTER to Dwayne, and when he goes,
PICK UP the DISSAPEARING INK and the FLAG GUN from the floor. Exit the room, and
head into the W room. USE both DIMES with the ficklefingers coint slot, and the
man will vibrate onto the floor. Once he is on the floor, PICK UP the SWEATER
thats on the bed, and leave the room. Go up the stairs, and head into Weird Eds
room. USE the DISSAPPEARING INK with his stamp book, and he will throw you out.
PICK UP the STAMP BOOK and the STAMP, and go back in. GIVE him the STAMP BOOK
and he will forgive you. At least you have the stamp now. Go into the hall, and
through the door to the left, and PUSH Nurse Edna out of the room. USE the
VIDEOTAPE with the VCR, and then look at the screen. When Dr. Fred closes the
safe, press RECORD which is the button with the red circle, and make sure the
little thing on the right is on SP. After its finished recording, press REWIND
which is the << button, then switch the thing to EP. Play it, and you will get
the code to the safe. Don't worry, you don't have to remember it, thank god. Go
downstairs, and downstairs again, and go into the office. OPEN the safe, and
PICK UP the CONTRACT. Go into the party room, and USE the SCAPEL with the clown.
PICK UP the BOX OF LAUGHS, then walk to the right a bit. Next to the man, USE
the FLAG GUN with the CIGAR LIGHTER, and you will get the CIGAR LIGHTER. Go back
upstairs, and USE the CROWBAR with the candy machine, and PICK UP the QUARTERS.
Now, go back to the party room, and TALK TO the guy there, and say the lines 2
and 1. Go up the chimney, and through the second window. PICK UP the ROPE on
doctor Fred, and go back onto the roof. USE the ROPE with the pulley, and then
go down the chimney. Head through the kitchen, into the laundry room, and USE
the SWEATER with the dryer. USE the QUARTERES with the coin slot, and once that
is done, go through the kitchen, party room, into the lobby and head outside.
USE the RED PAINT with dead cousin Ted, and USE the ROPE with him. Now, head all
the way back to the roof, and PULL the ROPE. Head back to the roof AGAIN, and
go through the window. USE dead cousin Ted with Dr. Fred, to switch them. USE
the ROPE with Dr. Fred, then go outside. PULL the ROPE again. Once your inside
the lab, USE the FUNNEL with Dr. Fred, then USE the COFFEE with it. Now, USE the
CONTRACT with Dr. Fred, and select the lines 4 twice, then walk to the left. At
the Chron-O-John, send Hoagie the EXPLODING CIGAR, the CIGAR LIGHTER, and the
CONTRACT. Send Laverne the BOX OF LAUGHS. Switch to Hoagie. Before sending the
CONTRACT, make sure its signed, and USE the STAMP with it, so it can be sent.

HOAGIE:

First off, send Laverne the SPAGHETTI, DENTURES, SQEAKY TOY MOUSE, and the CAN
OPENER. Go down to the main entrance, and USE the BUCKET FULL OF SOAPY WATER
with the dirty carriage. USE the SIGNED CONTRACT with the mail box. After the
cut-scene, go inside the house and into the big party room. Give George the
EXPLODING CIGAR, then the CHATTERING TEETH. After the cut-scene, PICK UP the
BLANKET that the guy dropped to the left. Head upstairs onto the second floor.
Go through the middle door, and TALK TO Betsy Ross. Say lines 1, then pick any.
USE the TENTACLE CHART with the patterns, and the flag will change. Go up to the
top floor, and onto the roof. USE the BLANKET with the chimney, then go back
to the party room, and PICK UP the GOLD PLATED QUILL. Go out to the lobby and
head through the grand father clock into the basement. GIVE the GOLD PLATED
QUILL to Red Edison, then GIVE him the HELP WANTED SIGN. PICK UP the LABCOAT and
then head to the second floor. Go into the end room, and GIVE Ben the LABCOAT.
Once your outside, when he says NOW, USE the kite, and it will drop to the
floor. Say any line, then the second line, and go back to the out houses. Switch
to Bernard, and send the CRANK to Laverne.

LAVERNE:

Once your in control of Laverne, head back to the house, and go through the door
and you will be back in your cell. Once your there, TALK TO the purple tentacle
again, and say line 3. Once the doctor is gone, go through the door, and through
the double doors in the party room. Go up the chimney. USE the CRANK on the
bottom of the flag pole, then USE it. PICK UP the FLAG, and USE it. Head down
the chimney, and TALK TO the blue tentacle to the right. Go through into the
lobby, and up the stairs to the right. OPEN the ice box, LOOK AT it, then PICK
UP the FROZEN HAMSTER. Go through the first door nearest to you, which is W.
Inside, USE the CAN OPENER on the time capsule, and PICK UP the VINEGAR. Now,
head into the next room, R, and PICK UP the EXTENSION CORD and the ROLLER SKATES
then USE the ROLLER SKATES on the mummy. USE the NAME TAG on the mummy, then
PUSH him. Switch to Bernard and send over the FORK and the FAKE BARF. As Laverne
head over to the Chron-O-John, and collect these items. Go back to the third
floor, and down the hall way. USE the NOODLES (the SPAGHETTI wet), DRENCHES,
BOX OF LAUGHS and then USE the FAKE BARF with Harold, the person sitting next to
your mummy. Now, USE the FORK with the mummys head. Go to the right, and TALK TO
the judges. Pick all of the top three lines. Once the mummy wins all of them,
and your inside the bedroom, you will now have the TROPHY and DINNER CERTIFICATE
on you. Go down stairs to the lobby, and through the double doors, and into the
kitchen. USE the FROZEN HAMSTER with the microwave, then go through the door to
the right, and into the laundry room. OPEN the dryer, and USE the COLD, WET
HAMSTER with the SWEATER to make him warm. Go outside, and to where the
chron-o-john is. Switch to Bernard, and send over the BOOBOO-B-GONE™ if you
haven't already. Go back to the front of the house, and USE the BOOBOO-B-GONE™
where the cat was. Now, go back to the chron-o-john, and USE the EXTENSION CORD
with the power cord from the chron-o-john, and USE the combination with the
small window at the bottom of the house. Send the VINEGAR to Hoagie, then go
back to the front of the house. GIVE the SQUEAKY MOUSE TOY to the cat, and you
will get the CAT! Head into the lobby, through the double doors and through the
door to the left. Say line 4 to the purple tentacle, then GIVE him the DINNER
CERTIFICATE. USE the switch, then USE the CAT. After they run away, go into the
lobby, and OPEN the grandfather clock. Go through, then USE the HAMSTER with the
hamster generator. It will run away, USE the vacumm cleaner with the hole, then
OPEN it, and PICK UP the HAMSTER again. USE it with the hamster generator again,
and then USE the EXTENSION CORD with the outlet to power up the chron-o-john!
Head over ot the chron-o-john, and switch to Hoagie.

HOAGIE:

As Hoagie, go into the basement at the mansion, and GIVE Red Edison the OIL and
the VINEGAR. Once he has made the battery, PICK UP the battery from the wall.
Go outside, and onto the field. TALK TO Ben, and select line 1. Now, USE the
BATTERY with the kite, and when he says NOW, PUSH the kite. After the cut-scene,
PICK UP the FULLY CHARGED BATTERY, head over to the outhouse, and USE the FULLY
CHARGED BATTERY with the plug. Switch to Bernard.

BERNARD:

Head into the office, and USE the phone. Watch the cut-scene.

BERNARD/HOAGIE/LAVERNE:

Wow, your some kind of monster! Anyways, after the long conversation, head into
the next room along the hall. Go through the mouse hole quick, and when your
inside the next room, wait until you turn to normal size again. PICK UP the
BOWLING BALL. Head all the way downstairs, and into the basement. USE the
BOWLING BALL with the purple tentacles, and watch the cut-scene. Say the lines
1, 4, 1, 4 and you will of finished the game! CONGRATUALTIONS on finishing Day
of the Tentacle! Enjoy the ending.

*****************

All items here will be listed in alpha betical order, where to get them from,
and whether its the past, present or future. If its PAST, you get it with Hoagie
if its present, you get it with Bernard, and future, Leverne. Also, any other
form of an item will not be listed, like the FROZEN HAMSTER, check the guide for
more information on how to get them.

BATTERY:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: Inside the mansion in the basement, on the shelf next to Red Edison.

HOW: Basically, you need to get the BATTERY PLANS, GOLD PLATED QUILL, VINEGAR
and OIL, and GIVE them all to Red.

BOOBOO-B-GONE™:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: OPEN the desk on the table inside the office, and the BOOBOO-B-GONE™ is
inside.

HOW: ABOVE

BOWLING BALL:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Inside the Green Tentacles room, you can only get it at the end part,
PICK UP when your big again after going through the mouse hole.

BOX OF LAUGHS:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: USE the SCAPEL on the clown inside the party room to find this item.

BRUSH:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: OPEN the red cabinet in the laundry room to find this item.

BUCKET:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: It's inside the Laundry room.

CAN OPENER:

TIME: PRESENT/PAST

WHERE: Hoagie starts with it, so its kinda present but more or less past because
you start with him in the past.

CAT:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: USE the BOOBOO-B-GONE™ on the fence where the cat is outside, you must
be inside the tentacle disguise.

CHATTERING TEETH:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Inside the famous Party room, go to the right, and its on the table. OPEN
the vent first, and chase after it, it will soon jump in, PICK UP the item then.

CIGAR LIGHTER:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Make sure you have the FLAG GUN with you, go into the party room, and USE
the FLAG GUN with the CIGAR LIGHTER which is on the table next to the salesman.

COFFEE:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Found inside the kitchen, on the left.

CONTRACT:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Inside a safe in the office, in Nurse Ednas room, PUSH her, USE the VIDEO
TAPE with the VCR, and record Dr Fred opening the safe. See the walkthrough for
more details.

CRANK:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: On the roof, attached to the flag pole.

CROWBAR:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: GIVE the KEYS from the W room to the guy in a ski mask outside of the
mansion, he will give you the CROWBAR.

DECAF COFFEE:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Found inside the kitchen, on the left.

DENCHES:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: USE the TEXTBOOK with the horse on the fourth floor, and PICK UP the
DENCHES from the glass.

DIME:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: You can get it from the coin return in the phone in the lobby, also, USE
the CROWBAR with the DIME STUCK IN GUM which is on the lobby floor, and then USE
what you get from it.

DINNER CERTIFICATE:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: A prize for the human contest.

HOW: After pushing the mummy into the competition, USE the NOODLES, DENCHES,
the BOX OF LAUGHS, and then USE the FORK on his head after putting NOODLES on
him.

DISAPPEARING INK:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Inside room R, get the guy outside, GIVE the LETTER to him, and he will
run out, go inside and PICK UP the DISAPPEARING INK from the side.

EXPLOSIVE CIGAR:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: TALK TO the salesman inside the party room, and say you want to try one,
make sure you switched the CIGAR LIGHTER with the FLAG GUN first.

EXTENSION CORD:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: Inside the room with the mumny in it, on the second floor.

FAKE BARF:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: In the lobby, PUSH the right speaker in Green Tentacles room, then USE
the turn on/off button on the stereo, the FAKE BARF will fall down from the
ceiling.

FLAG:

TIME: FUTURE:

WHERE: On the roof, USE the CRANK with the flag pole, then USE the CRANK and
PICK UP the FLAG.

FLAG GUN:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Go inside the room with the depressed guy in it, and GIVE him the LETTER
and he will run out of the room, go inside and PICK UP the FLAG GUN from the
floor.

FLIER:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: In the lobby, its right near the bottom right of the screen.

FORK:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Inside the kitchen, on the table.

FUNNEL:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Inside the pink cabinet in the laundry room, OPEN it then PICK UP the
FUNNEL from inside.

GOLD PLATED QUILL:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: After you get everyone to go up and think theres a fire (see walkthrough
for more detail) you can get this item from the table in the big party room.

GUM WITH DIME IN IT:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: USE the CROWBAR with this when its on the floor to get this.

HAMSTER:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Found in Weird Eds room, just PICK UP the HAMSTER from its cage.

BLANKET:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: After you make the people light a fire inside the party room, the BLANKET
will be on the floor to the left of the table. See the walkthrough for more
details on getting the fire started.

HELP WANTED SIGN:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: In the lobby, its in the window to the left, next to the FLIER.

HUMAN NAME TAG:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: When your in the tentacle disguise, TALK TO the blue tentacle inside the
party room, and he will give you the HUMAN NAME TAG.

KEYS:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Go into the room to the far left on the second floor, CLOSE the door and
the KEYS are in the door.

LAB COAT:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: In Red Edisons basement, GIVE him the HELP WANTED SIGN, then PICK UP the
LAB COAT, its to the right of him.

LEFT-HANDED HAMMER:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: You can PICK UP the LEFT HANDED HAMMER straight away, its on the bench at
Red Edisons basement.

LETTER:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: In front of the mansion, its inside the mail box, its easy to find, just
PICK UP this item.

OIL:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: Inside the kitchen, its to the left of the entrance.

QUARTERS:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: USE the CROWBAR on the candy machine to get Quarters.

RED PAINT:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: In side the top room of the mansion with the cat in it, its near the trap
door.

ROLLER SKATES:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: Inside the room with the mummy on the second floor, its to the right of
the entrance.

ROPE:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Once Dr. Fred is taken by those guys after you record him opening the
safe, go up to the roof, and through the window (enter the roof via the chimney
in the party room) and PICK UP the ROPE from on Dr. Fred.

SCALPEL:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: Laverne starts with it.

SPAGHETTI:

TIME: PAST

wHERE: Inside the kitchen, to the left of the entrance from the party room, not
the laundry room.

STAMP:

WHERE: Inside the office, it is clearly lying on the desk, just PICK UP the
SWISS BANKBOOK.

TENTACLE CHART:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: Inside the Tentacle doctors office, on the right wall.

TENTACLE DISGUISE:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: Basically, in the PAST, you need to give the TENTACLE CHART to that flag
making woman, which will change the american flag, and then you can get it from
the top of the mansion in the future, and wear it. USE the CRANK on the flag
pole then USE it to get this item.

TEXTBOOK:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: Bernard starts with this item.

SQUEAKY MOUSE TOY:

TIME: PAST

WHERE: When your in the attic, USE the squeaky matress with the other matress,
USE the squeaky one, and the cat will come over to you. Quickly PICK UP the
SQUEAKY MOUSE TOY.

VIDEO TAPE:

TIME: PRESENT

WHERE: On top of the stereo in Green Tentacles room.

VIEGAR:

TIME: FUTURE

WHERE: Inside the first room on the left on the second floor, USE the CAN OPENER
on the time capsule to get this item.

WHERE: In Ben Franklins room, its on the second floor, the WINE BOTTLE is on the

Q. How do I get Laverne out of the tree?

A. Once Hoagie has the RED PAINT, USE it on the tree to the left of the outhouse
and get George to chop it down, because he thinks its a cherry tree, and because
of this, the tree will no longer exist in the future.

Q. Some items won't go through the Chron-O-John, why not?

A. Some items can't go through, any item you need to go through time will,
although some might go differently.

Q. How do I play the original Maniac Mansion?

A. Go into Weird Ed Edisons room in the present, and USE the computer. If you
are using SCUMMVM, just go on Add game, and find the folder MANIAC in side the
DOTT folder, and you can play it without having to go to the computer.

Q. Do I have to remember the combination to Dr. Freds safe?

A. No, Bernard will remember it for you.

Q. I can't get the BATTERY charged, how do I do this?

A. Once you have it, offer to help fly the kite, and USE the BATTERY with it
before you PUSH it into the air. It will get electricuted and powered up.

Q. How come Bernard is friends with Green Tentacle, but in Maniac Mansion, he
couldn't go in the same room as him because he didn't like him?

A. Actually, im not really sure of this my self.

Q. Do you have to give Weird Ed Edison his STAMP BOOK back?

A. No, if you don't he just tells you to go away whenever you go inside his
room.

Q. How do I get 2 million dollars to buy the REAL diamond?

A. You need the CONTRACT, and you need to sign it, and also put a STAMP on it,
and send it in the past. See the walkthrough for more detail on this.

Q. Is Day of the Tentacle hard?

A. Not really, but there are some hard bits in it.

Q. Is Day of the Tentacle long?

A. It depends, if you are really really good at Adventure games, not really.

Q. How do I buy the diamond?

A. Once you have the money, and the SWISS BANKBOOK, go into the fat guys room on
the second floor, and USE his TV, and the channel selling the diamond will come
on. Go downstairs and USE the phone inside the office.

Q. Is the whole game set around the Mansion?

A. Yeah, but different bits are different in all three time zones, the PAST,
PRESENT and FUTURE.
