Donations
===============================================================================

After a few generous emails and suggestions from readers and because donations
seems to be a growing trend among other contemporary guide writers, I have
decided to put in the option to allow you to donate some money to me for
helping you out if you wish to do so.

Although I make these guides for free in my spare time, I probably don’t
need to point out to gamers that purchasing games is an extremely expensive
hobby (games in Australia cost on average $90 - $120) and writing guides for
them can be a very long, incredibly difficult and thankless task at the best
of times, but one that is very challenging and occasionally rewarding.

Considering you could be paying upwards of $20+ for guides in a game shop, these
free and easily available guides make a cost-effective substitute. Whilst most
are happy to use and move on without a word I would move that a simple donation
is a great, easy way to say thanks if you feel that my guide has saved you some
time, money and frustration in some small way.

By no means feel obligated to donate just for viewing my guide, but if you are
feeling a little generous I certainly won’t object! Any amount is appreciated
whether it be 10 cents or $10.

Thankyou far all that read this far, if you are interested in donating, my
Paypal address is listed below, if not, skip down to the table of contents
below and get stuck into the big ball of fun that is Call of Duty: Black ops 2!

*** WALKTHROUGH *** [WLKT]
 ***********************
   *******************

The Demon Lord Belial is the third piece of post-launch DLC available for
Darksiders 2 and features a lengthy new dungeos and three brand new legendary
weapons.

You can access the DLC through the Downloadable content option in the main
menu and selecting the Demon lord Belial campaign option. this guide will walk
you through the new dungeon collecting all of those pesky treasure chests and
legendary weapons hidden along the way.

Let us begin...

===============================================================================
Part 1 - Town of Ash [DLB01]
===============================================================================

>> Town of Ash <<

As you begin the DLC you will find yourself back on Earth. Head down the street
in front and as you enter the main open area there are angels taking on some
demons. It’s Uriel! Help the angels repel the waves of demons that appear. Once
the zone is clear, a scene will play.

After a short conversation, use the nearby Serpent Tome if you feel the need.
Note that Uriel will stay in this starting area and act as a merchant should
you want to buy potions, sell gear or do other merchant-related things. When
you are good to go, proceed thorough the now accessible door along the wall
opposite of where we entered the area.

As you enter, you will encounter a new type of enemy – the ravager, there are
6-8 of them in this room. These guys have a magical quarterstaff that they can
use either as a melee weapon or to charge up to drop purple energy bombs around
the room or cause a small shockwave to force you back if you get too close.
Fortunately, they aren’t much tougher than your standard legion soldier, so
you shouldn’t have too much trouble taking the lot of them down.

Once the room is clear, climb back up the stairs and follow the upper platform
around to the east. In the alcove here you will find a chest. Return to the
centre of the room and wall run across to the death grip ring which will pop
you up on the platform on the west side of the area. Open the chest there,
before going into the nearby hallway. Grab the bomb plat here and drop back
down to the room below. Toss it onto the corruption crystals here and blow them
up. Proceed through the newly formed hole in the wall.

In the hallway, turn right and duck into the first alcove for a chest. Follow
the hallway until you reach the door at the end. Inside, kill the hell slaves
here and death grip your way across to the far side of the room. Enter the
hallway and follow it, past the tunnel to the left until you reach the very end
for a chest. Backtrack to the side-tunnel heading west, descend the stairs and
enter the room at the end.

Inside, kill the hell slaves before you. In this room, you’ll find a skeleton
key door straight ahead, a door to the right and an open passage to the left.
Proceed through the door to the north. Collect the chest from the far end of
the room and head back to the stairs for a short scene and an encounter with a
new type of enemy – the defiler. These guys are also about as tough as a
standard legion soldier, but have some very damaging abilities including a
boomerang style weapon toss and another attack where they spin their weapons
in a small circle around themselves to force you to keep your distance. After
killing the initial defiler, another 6-7 will spawn. Kill them all to unblock
the stairs and return to the previous room.

Head down the stairs through the doorway to the south and death grip swing
across the gap. Here you will notice a switch in the alcove to the right.
Ignore this for now and look back towards the death grip ring we just used.
To the right you will see another platform. Wall run along the left hand wall
and when possible, jump across to the platform on the right.

Move into the hallway and look to the left, behind the crystals here you will
find a bomb growth on the wall. Death grip it and destroy the crystals below
it for a chest. Grab another bomb and continue to the end of the hallway, turn
right and toss the bomb at the switch. This will drop the fence to the left.
Run over here and death grip across to the chest on the far side, open it for
the skeleton key. Return to the skeleton door room and open it up.

Kill the hell slaves that attack you and then open the chest. Climb either set
of stairs, kill any additional baddies and proceed through the door at the
top.

===============================================================================
Part 2 - Finding the Hunter [DLB02]
===============================================================================

>> Town of Ash <<

You will find yourself outside. Turn to the right and head down the street.
Kill the hell spawn and defilers that appear until scene plays. Mop up any
remaining bad guys and continue to the end of the street, kill the ravager
here.

Once the street is clear, enter the door on the left. At the end of the
corridor, drop into the water and dive below, head over to the hole in the
floor on the left and follow the underwater tunnel to the end. When you can go
no further surface and find the block sitting above the water on one of the
walls. Wall run up to this and then death grip up again to the platform above.
Open the chest here for a legendary weapon ‘Hell Maul’. Turn around and note
the opening opposite the gap we just climbed up that is blocked by a half
fallen door. If you jump to the left wall, wall run and then wall jump over
here you can leap over the broken door to a small room behind for another
chest.

Drop back into the water and swim back to the main pool. On the opposite side
from where we entered, you will find a block you can wall run up to. Do so to
reach a higher up ledge. Enter the door to the left and push the block down to
the hallway below to create a short cut. Backtrack all the way back to the
street and this time around, enter the door on the opposite side.

Go down the stairs, death grip across the room and climb the stairs on the far
side. Enter the door at the top and drop down the hole in front. As you do, the
view will zoom out and you need to make your way across the room to the far
right. As you reach your destination, a scene will play.

When you regain control, continue to the end of the hallway and drop down into
the pool of water below. Wall run up to the ledges on the far side and enter
the door.

>> The Underground <<

Kill the hell slaves that attack here and proceed to the far end of the room,
noting the skull door on the left. Climb the stairs and before opening the
door, turn around and wall run over to the ledge above the stairs to find a
chest. Open this, then head back to the door and go on through.

On the left side of the balcony, wall run across to the opening on the far
side of the room. Grab the stone block on the left and drag it over to the
right. Plant it on the pressure plate. This will open the gate between the
spikes to the east, so grab the chest there. Return to the block and push it
over as far as you can into the opening on the north side of the room. Run back
to the south and drop down into the room below. Run over to the north wall and
note that due to the block being there, we can now access a higher area. Once
up top, follow the handholds all the way along until you drop down onto a
platform. Enter the nearby door.

Open the chest opposite the entrance, kill any hell slaves around and then
cruise up to the doorway at the top of the stairs in the north east corner of
the room. Use it to exit back on to the streets.

>> Town of Ash <<

Turn left and at the end of the road, drop down to the lower road below. Fight
off the demons that appear until a scene plays to signify the end of the fight.
Head over to where the concrete slab fell down during the scene and behind
this you will find a set of stairs leading down. Descend all the way to the
bottom.

>> Safe House Three <<

After a short scene in this area a boss fight will ensue.

-------------------
Boss: The Warmaster
-------------------

Moves:

> Charge – The warmaster will glow red and then charge at you from across
the room, dash to avoid it.
> Jumping Slam – The boss will jump at you and try to drop his axe on your
head. Upon contacting the ground, this will also cause a
circle of blades to emerge from the ground causing area of
effect damage if you are too close.
> Melee Swing – A standard slash. Blades will emerge from the ground below,
doing extra damage if you are too close.

Strategy:
> To defeat the Warmaster, the plan of attack is to, like many of Darksiders
> II's many bosses, dodge his attacks and slice him up a few times once he has
> just finished an attack. Once he reaches half health he will become enraged,
> regenerating all of his health. At this point, he will also start moving a
> lot faster and his attacks will receive a small damage increase. Fortunately,
> the strategy remains essentially unchanged: it’s just a matter of learning
> his attack patterns and dropping a few cheap shots on him when you are able.
> Once he has taken enough damage, a scene will play to end the fight.

For finishing off the Warmaster, you will earn the skeleton key.

===============================================================================
Part 3 - The Demon Lord Belial [DLB03]
===============================================================================

>> Safe House Three <<

After polishing off the Warmaster, enter the door in the room here for a chest
containing a legendary item – Ice Reaver, before climbing back up the stairs
to the street. Once outside, enter the door to the right, just below where we
dropped down from the upper road previously to return back inside. Make your
way all the way back to the underground.

>> The Underground <<

Return to the room with the skeleton door and use the key to open it up.
Proceed on through. Enter the hole in the wall to the left and death grip
across to the far side to enter Belial’s Lair.

>> Belial’s Lair <<

Follow the train tracks until you reach the open room. Kill the hell slaves
that come to attack you and jump up to the platform on the left. Head for the
open doorway and grab the grenade launcher weapon from the floor in front.
Climb the stairs and continue shooting your way through the next few rooms
killing the hell slaves and defilers as they appear. When you reach the end, a
scene will play and show two new openings for you to explore. Check out the
right for a chest and a door back to the subway platform. Head left to
continue.

Climb up the wall to the ledge at the end of the tunnel and proceed into the
large room for a boss fight.

-----------------------
Boss: Demon Lord Belial
-----------------------

Moves:

> Energy impale – He will point his trident at you and an extension of it made
of energy will try to stab you from across the room.
> Tailwhip – If you get behind him and close, he will turn around quickly,
hitting you with his tail if you are too close to him.
> Spin toss – Belial will spin in a circle, throwing energy tridents in
                  different directions.
> Blade Geyser – If you get in too close, for too long, he will summon blades
around him that will damage you if you get too close.
> Ethereal Bomb – After taking a bit of damage, he will phase shift and become
see through. During this phase shift, he will plant his
weapon in the ground and a glowing blue ball will appear,
unless you shoot this with your pistol quick enough, he will
explode, causing you damage no matter where you are.
> Lava fissure – Belial will slam his trident into the ground and red cracks
will appear in the ground at random around the room. After a
moment, lava will burst up from these damaging you if you
                  are on top of them.

Strategy:
> Belial is a fairly large, slow moving boss that has a nasty ranged and even
> nastier set of close proximity attacks. The trick is to dodge his energy
> impale move, get in close to whack him a few times and then dash away before
> he can perform his blade geyser attack. Repeat the process until he phase
> shifts for the first time. During this mode, he will become ethereal, he will
> plant his weapon in the ground and charge up. As he does, he will also have
> a small blue sphere appear, if you are unable to shoot this enough withing
> the short window in which it appears, Belial will explode, damaging you
> before repeating the process. Continue shooting the blue ball until he
> re-appears.
>
> At this point, he will now start to use his lava fissure attack in addition
> to the attacks listed above. Again, repeat the dodge, attack, dash combo to
> whittle his health away. Once enough has been done, he will phase shift for
> a second time. This time, he will also use his energy impale attack before
> summoning the blue ball. Again, when you see the ball shoot it until he
> transforms back.
>
> This final stage of te fight is exactly the same as the previous one, except
> when he has no health remaining, he will enter etereal mode for a final time.
> Here he will use the enrgy impale attack, but to mix things up, instead of
> being stationary, the blue energy ball will be moving around. Destroy it one
> final time to complete the fight.

Once Belial is dead, loot his corpse and then hop into the teleporter nearby.
Talk with your newfound friend in the safe house to complete the dungeon, the
quest and the DLC.

Note that Vulgrim will also deposit a legendary weapon - Belial's Trident in
your mailbox for completing the quest!
