To get the EA Dream Team ------------------------ When at the select team screen just right click with the mouse a few times on the scroll button, and the EA Dream Team will appear. Game Tips --------- Tip 1 ----- When playing against a computer-controlled batter with a wide swing, pitch him tight inside. You probably won't get a strikeout, but there's a good chance that he'll shank the ball or pop it up for an easy out. Tip 2: ------ When pitching against a human opponent, try to drive him back from the plate and then alternate between outside strikes and balls. The visual difference (for the batter) between a low and outside fastball strike and a ball is nearly imperceptible, and you just might be able to get him to whiff. Tip 3: ------ When a computer-controlled runner takes a long leadoff from the base, go to work on him--he won't learn his lesson, and you should be able to pick him off if you just keep trying. Tip 4: ------ Due to the little hiccup in control when you field a ball, don't try to toss the ball to the pitcher if you've grabbed it as the first baseman. Your best bet is to run your fielder over the plate before the runner gets there. Tip 5: ------ If you want to hit a home run, move so that the meat of your bat is over the plate and wait for a low pitch. Swing just a fraction of a second later than you think you should, and hopefully, you'll hear the resounding boom of a ball well hit (the Home Run Challenge is a great place to practice this). Tip 6: ------ Don't forget to keep an eye on your pitcher's stamina (accessed from the menu screen). Before he gets too tired, be sure to warm up another pitcher. Tip 7: ------ If you want to play this game on the Internet, select the "Internet Slow" connection option and drop all of your detail levels down to the lowest level you can tolerate. It might not look as good, but you might be able to achieve a marginally acceptable frame rate this way. Hint: ----- Submitted by: josh to get an easy out pitch a high striked fastball and then sometimes the batter will hit a popup and the backcather will be able to catch it and get the batter out.
