Unlock Skins (2005): -------------------- From the Main Menu, go to Extras - Cheats - Unlock Skin then type any of the following codes: Code Result ------------------------- CEILINGFAN - 2000 Skin WOODCHIPPER - 1990 Skin NAILGUN - 1980 Skin Hint: ----- Submitted by: Hrishikesh Bawa First Grab an enemy and use him as a shield. Then get your best gun and get the zoom aim (Default button : F) and aim for the head! This takes out enemies faster, plus you get protection from the shield due to the process being slow! Against loner bosses, just zoom aim on the head!. Hint: ----- Submitted by: Hrishikesh Bawa Always use quick kill to fill up "THE SLAUGHTER METER" quicker, and then enter slaughter mode when u see the baddies, and throw knives to regain health! You can kill bosses in a more easy way in slaughter mode! Strategy to beat "The Russian: ------------------------------ Submitted by: ashwini sharma The first time you encounter "The Russian", wait for him to thump on the apartment floor after which he will get dizzy, then sieze your chance and jump on his back from the behind. then control him and smash him onto the fridge, tv etc to knock him down. The second time you will encounter him on grand nixon island. here he will run on the above ledge and try to throw barrels at you. you should shoot the barrels right when they are above his head ( while he is lifting them) to inflict maximum damage to him. after sustaining some damage he will climb down and chase you. try not to get into his hands and keep running around in circles( he will follow as a dumb bot). there are certain inflammable barrels in the area. shoot them whenever he is near to them while he is chasing you. ( they will blast only when lighted earlier by "The Russian" himself.) Concept art: ------------ Get at least a bronze medal rank on each level. Comic covers: ------------- Successfully complete challenge and punishment modes to unlock all comic covers. Weapons: -------- Successfully complete the indicated level to unlock the corresponding weapon. .40 caliber submachine gun: Gnucci Estate .45 caliber machine pistol : Chop Shop .50 caliber semi-automatic pistol: Igor Baltiysky 5.56mm machine pistol : Grey's Funeral Home 5.56mm assault rifle: Central Zoo 5.7mm submachine gun: Fisk Industries 7.62mm assault rifle: Pier 74 Anti-tank weapon: Pier 74 Revisted Auto shotgun: Takagi Building Battle rifle: Stark Towers Flame thrower: Igor Baltiysky Grenade launcher: Pier 74 Hand cannon: Gnucci Estate Machine gun: Grey's Funeral Home Revolver: Lucky's Bar Sniper rifle: Grand Nixon Island Full weapon ammunition pick-ups: -------------------------------- Complete the game without purchasing any upgrades in the apartment menu. When you now pick up weapons, you will get a full clip every time. Note: If you purchase upgrades it will no longer work. Defeating Bullseye: ------------------- When in Kingpin's office, throw grenades at him. Do not try to shoot him unless you aim for the head; bullets do not hurt him. Just keep throwing grenades until he dies. Defeating Bushwacker: --------------------- To defeat Bushwacker you must do two things. First, aim for his head and fire. Eventually, his glasses will fall off. Once, his glasses are off it is a free for all as long as you have some flashbangs. If you do not have flashbangs, then just kill some henchmen and they will drop some. Begin launching flashbangs near Bushwacker and he will get disoriented. When he starts moving around like he is drunk, start shooting him. He will begin to fire his weapon, but most of the time he is inaccurate. He eventually will die after enough damage is taken. Defeating Bosses: ----------------- There is a good gun with rapid fire that can be used to easily defeat Bushwacker, Bobby Gnucci, and Eddie Gnucci. The M60 machine gun can take down these three guardians and they will fall very easily to your punishment. It will not penetrate Jigsaw's armor, but it might work on his jetpack. Then, use the proximity mines on him to defeat him. Defeating armored opponents: ---------------------------- Shoot them in the head with any gun to kill them. The battle rifle and assault rifle with a scope are the best weapons to use. This will help you take down the white and black commandos that are part of the Yakuza gang. Special kills: -------------- When you grab enemies with skulls over their heads, you can get information from them. In order to do special kills, you must walk over to a gold skull shining out of the ground with the enemy. To do this, you must grab him and return to shield position. Take him over to the gold skull. Then, use his own method. Kill while reloading: --------------------- If you are reloading and have enemies in front of you, do a ''quick kill'' on them while you reload. Regenerate health: ------------------ While you are in slaughter mode your health will regenerate slowly. Scared or disgusted enemies: ---------------------------- If you get close enough (just slightly further than the Quick Kill/Grab point) an enemy will sometimes (especially in the earlier levels) back off, wave his hands as if to say "don't shoot" then say similar to "It-- it's you!!!!"; giving you time to shoot him. Also, sometimes by performing a quick kill near another enemy, sometimes they will put a hand over their mouth as though they are about to vomit, and say something similar to "I think I'm gonna be sick!" or "Oh my God!" followed by a vomiting sound. This also gives you some extra time to shoot the enemy. Note: This does not work on all Yakuza gang members. Easy points: ------------ To achieve a high score, grab a human shield and use him. Shoot some enemies and try not to get hit. The longer you go without getting hit, the higher your points get. However, if you somehow get hit your points are rounded up and you must start again with not getting hit. Flashbacks: ----------- Interrogate enemies normally. If their words echoes, this indicates that you have unlocked a flashback. Replay the levels to unlock more of them. Sesame Street reference: ------------------------ If you choose to side with the Mafia at the slaughterhouse, when you get to a certain point you will hear two men. One will say "Damn they killed Ernie!" The other will say, "First Bert, now Ernie. We'll get those bastards." Bert and Ernie are the names of Sesame Street characters. Style points: ------------- If you get hit once by your enemies, your style points will be on your score, and it would not be good enough for a massive score. Always take your time. Do not rush into every room because there is no time limit. If you are having difficulty shooting them, try aiming for precise headshots to kill them instantly. Use interrogations first then do the quick kill on them. Watch your back and keep an eye on enemy numbers. Be aware of where they are going to attack from and defeat multiple enemies without getting hit. Unlockables: ------------ Get a gold medal rank on the indicated level to unlock the corresponding cheat in an apartment sub-menu. Note: You cannot progress in the game if any cheats are enabled. Crazy Deaths : Lucky's Bar Gun Splitters : Crack House Unlimited Ammo : Pier 74 Revisited Invulnerability : All levels No Reloads : Stark Towers One Shot Kills : Ryker's Island Unlimited Slaughter : Takagi Building Central Zoo: The arch: ---------------------- Frank says that he must avoid the arch, otherwise he will get crushed. However, the same goes for the enemy. Do not kill all of them. Once you get all the other Gnuccis except for him, you should hear an explosion later. That the thug has actually been tricked by The Punisher. Stark Towers: Helicopter battle: -------------------------------- Pick up the anti-tank launcher and go back to where the white guard keeps appearing all the time. By doing this, you should not be in the line of the Yakuza snipers on top of the platform, which is above you. Shoot the helicopter from there. Aim for the men inside the chopper and keep using rockets on it. The rocket man can only hit you if you are closer to him. He cannot damage distant targets. This makes it difficult for the commandos to target you. If you need ammunition, return to the unlimited ammunition cache, However, you can get more ammunition for the rocket launcher if it is low. Captain American and Sunfire reference: --------------------------------------- In the Takagi Building, after you interrogate a member of the Eternal Sun he runs into the bathroom to distract Yasuke. He then asks Yasuke who would win in a fight between Captain America and Captain Japan. Yasuke says that there is no Captain Japan, that his name is Sunfire, and that Sunfire would probably win. Captain America is from the Captain America/Avengers comics and Sunfire is from the X-Men comics. Half-Life reference: -------------------- At the beginning of the Stark Towers level when the Yakuza start their attack, the scientists working behind the glass talk about an interdimensional portal, and one refers to the other as Doctor Freeman. Gordon Freeman is the main character in the popular Half-Life game series by Valve Software. Daredevil references: --------------------- When in Lucky's bar, two men will be talking. One asks "Who do you think would win in a fight between Daredevil and Sonny Corleone?" The other one will say, "You idiot. Daredevil's a comic book character." Daredevil comics were made by the same company that made The Punisher comics. The irony is that later Punisher's lawyer is Matt Murdoch (the real life identity of Daredevil). Also, later two Yakuza will be talking about Daredevil talking on one hundred of their men hopped up on some drugs. After the battle with Bullseye, Frank's blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Daredevil's alter ego.) comes in and Frank fires him. Writer reference: ----------------- The first guard you encounter in Ryker's will be held up by a prisoner. The prisoner refers to him by the name "Dixon". He is named after Chuck Dixon, a writer for the Punisher comics, Daredevil comics, and Marvel Knights comics. Easy style points: ------------------ To score style points, do not get hit by enemy. Use the following tips to score style points without getting hit to get a high score. * If the score was not high enough to get concept art, bronze, silver, or gold medals, go to the statistics screen. There will be three skulls of bronze, silver, and gold. The number of style points you must earn is next to the color. Replay the levels and keep practicing until you get the score needed to access the cheats and unlockables. * If you mix it all up, you can get to higher score totals. You can use interrogations mixed with quick kills, special interrogations and special kills, knockout kills and interrogations, and melee weapon kills. You should get a higher total. * If you grab an enemy, interrogate him and spare him. Then, use him as a human shield and shoot enemies to not get hit. You can get a good score. * After interrogating an enemy, try getting him to a position near an explosive barrel. Shoot it at close range. It will take your enemy out, and you will get a huge points increase. * You must get five successful kills or interrogations to get higher score totals. Try to remove all enemies before attempting an interrogation, as they always shoot on sight. Defeating the Russian on the island: ------------------------------------ When you get off of the gondola, take a right into the shed. Do not go to the launch pad yet. Get the ammunition for the sniper rifle. Leave the shed and make a right to the steps to the missile launch pad. Walk up the steps and the Russian will say "We have to stop meeting like this, Big Boy!". He will stay on the catwalk above, throwing flaming barrels at you. Shooting him is useless. Watch the Russian through your more precise aiming (it is easier this way). When he lifts a barrel, he will walk a little way, lift it above his head, and it will catch fire. Shoot the barrel while it is on fire before he throws it at you. It will explode in his face. After two or three explosions, guards will begin to appear from the right and left sides of the map. Take them out if they give you a problem, however try to focus on the Russian. After the Russian's life gets half-way down, an intermission sequence featuring him catching ablaze will play. He will then jump down and chase after you. Get him to chase you into the piles of barrels scattered in the corners of the map. There is one barrel in each pile that will light (usually the brightest one). Get the Russian to walk into the barrel and it will ignite. Then, shoot the barrel to blow it up on the Russian. Be careful not to get too close or you will sustain damage. After about four to five explosions, he will be defeated. Note: If the Russian runs into a guard, the guard will also catch fire. Larry and Tom: -------------- In the Crackhouse level, in the dark living room with the two big windows just before you see Damage for the first time, there will be a door behind the couch. Do not approach it until you have killed everyone in the room. Also, make sure you do not go through the doorway to the kitchen Shoot the men in there from a distance. Once they are all dead, walk up to the door behind the couch but do not open it. Stand outside and listen carefully. You will hear Larry and Tom from the beginning of the level talking about the Punisher. The dialogue is as follows. Tom: "You see the look on the Punisher's face, Larry?" Larry: "Man, he looked pissed." Tom: "He always looks pissed like he bit into a shit burger." Larry: "Hahaha! Hey, that reminds me, I need to take a dump." Tom: "Save some for the Punisher, in case he's hungry!". When you go inside, Tom will say "He's the one you want, not me!" then Larry will take Tom hostage. You can then kill them both in one hit with the shotgun if aimed correctly. The names Larry and Tom could also possibly be a reference to Tom and Jerry if reversed.
