No the sound is not supposed to be as crappy as it seems. To get all
the sound, play the game with disc 2 in your CDrom drive.

It's worth paying to repair many items before you sell them, as the cost
of the repair is much less than the increased value of the item. Longswords
are a good example of this.

In many areas there are roaming groups of creatures that can easily turn a
one-on-one fight into a three-vs.-one battle. In locations such as this,
slowly creep up on one of the villains and lead him or her away from the
rest. This will ensure that the odds are always even. Another good tactic
to remember is to hit and run. Just remember to keep moving, especially when
you see your foe about to cast a spell. Ranged attacks using a crossbow or
magic are a good way to soften up an enemy before you engage in melee combat.

One of the most infamous spells in your arsenal has to be the gas attack.
Not only does it stun your foe, but also a direct hit sucks the life from
them. Using Pax to sedate your enemy and following up with gas can make
short work of many of the baddies you will be facing in no time. However,
focusing on only one discipline of magic redistributes the Seculorum in
its favor, thus weakening the other areas of magic. On the one hand, you
become immune to magic attacks of that discipline; on the other, it leaves
you terribly vulnerable to magic that is the polar opposite of the one you
are focusing on.

Occasionally you may notice that you are doing no damage while attacking a
creature. Don't fret--it doesn't mean that your character is necessarily
weak; it just may mean that your method of attack is wrong. Take time to
read weapon descriptions and pay close attention to combat tips offered
from NPCs. Skeletons and gargoyles are weak to blunt weapons, such as clubs
and maces, because they have no flesh. Swords like Scimitars have a hard
time penetrating armor. Knowing your weapon and your foe is half the battle.

Once you have gained access to your hex, don't forget the areas that you
previously explored! Because your carrying capacity is limited, you often
leave valuable equipment behind that can be sold for a nice profit. Take
time to go back and send those items to Mulcuth! Shadowguard is the easiest
place to sell objects, as a hex is right down the street from a blacksmith.
Though time-consuming, this will ensure that your pockets are always lined
with gold.

Extra money:
------------
Get items repaired before selling them. The difference in the cost of repair
and money given when the item is sold is often in your favor.

Defeating Bishop Mortan:
------------------------
Before fighting Bishop Mortan, defeat the Mercs, Gargoros, and the Undead
Kings. After this, you should have gone up at least two levels (use the
points for 2 health, 2 speed, and the last 2 for strength). With all the
gold you get, you should be able to get some Thardolin Boots from Hammer.
Mortan should be easy to defeat with the Fire Sword from the demon.

Defeating Hex Seekers:
----------------------
Do not use Hex Stakes on the Hex Seekers the first time you fight them.
Wait for when Skorn runs away. The first time they will be revived to
full strength and get all their items back.

Experience Glitch:
------------------
In the first battle inside Tortalaran City when you, Chant, and Lord Bane
reach the doors of the keep (and while he is hammering at the doors), Chant
gives you a quest to ensure your escape route. I go back to the gate and
kill the vampires fighting the bloodkin warriors and the other vampires
around the city fighting the others, but I did not get a note that the
quest to hold the escape route was complete. Oh well, I go on to the battle
against lightstealer. After that battle I get a note a quest was completed.
I go and check and yes, the quest to hold the escape route was completed.
As I exit, chant gives a speech about my killing lightstealer and we go
back the The Church of the White Moon. After the cutscene at the Church,
I figure to go back to Tortalaran and look for items. No sooner than
entering the city I get a message saying a quest was completed and 1000
exp. Nice! So, I go and get the items outside but as I go to the top of
the steps before the keep's gate, a message from Chant pops up
congratulating me on killing Lightstealer. Then I'm supposedly going back
to The Church of the White Moon but instead I get a black screen. After
pressing escape and clicking on the resume button, I get my picture back
but I can't pan or access any other menus. I exit my game and reload it
but it is still happening. I close down the whole game and restart it.
That worked.
I still want to get inside the keep and get the items, but the same event
above happens again when I go back to Tortalaran. Good thing I saved my
game just after the battle with Lightstealer. I figure that as long as I
can get all the items, why not exploit this glitch.
I do not have to keep exiting the game either, I can keep getting the
experience even without being able to pan the screen or access any other
menus. A small price to pay but the reward is 1000 easy exp.
