Houses at odd angles or with open doors tend to have
important characters in them.
Carry two weapons so you're not defenseless if your
primary weapon breaks.
A good basic party will feature two dedicated fighters,
two fighters with spellcasting ability (including healing),
and two dedicated spellcasters.
Weak NPCs tend to rush into hand-to-hand combat.
Overencumber them so that they can't move in battle.
