Cheat Codes:
------------
Submitted by: RM

Note: v1.1 of the game is required to enable all codes. Some, but not all, codes can
be used with earlier versions. This procedure involves editing a game file; create a
backup copy of the files before proceeding. You will need to allow hidden files and
folders to be shown in order to edit this particular .ini file. Use a text editor to
edit the "User.ini" file found in the following locations:

Windows XP: C:Documents and Settings[username]Application DataBioshock
Windows Vista: C:Users[username]AppDataRoamingBioshock

Set a key binding in the User.ini file to any of the following codes (for example,
"F10=fly"). Then, press the key during game play to activate the cheat function.

Note: Any active codes are disabled when a new area loads or intermission sequence plays.

Easy money:
-----------
When you find any slot machine, use Incinerate Plasmid to corrupt the machine. You will
nearly always win money when you use the burnt out machine.

Save game recommendation:
-------------------------
After becoming a Big Daddy, make a new saved game. At this point you are near the end of
the game. If you missed something you can go to the bathysphere and explore Rapture again,
but also you are a Big Daddy now so the splicers will not harm you, security cameras will
not set off alarms, etc.

Defeating security robots:
--------------------------
If you are up against a stationary security robot (RPG, etc.), use Telekenesis to grab a
crate or pallet. Hold it in front of you until you can find a place to hide and plan what
to do next. The item you hold up will block some attacks.

Restore hacked robot's health:
------------------------------
After hacking a robot, it will begin firing at your enemies. If the robot gets hit it
will begin to lose health, catch on fire, and eventually blow up. To stop this from
happening, deactivate the robot, then reactivate it a few seconds later.
This should make the robot have full health again.

Defeating Atlas Fontaine I:
---------------------------
This is the final Boss and he has three different styles of attacks:. Flame Plasmid
Form, Ice Plasmid Form, and Electric Plasmid Form. The easiest way to defeat him in
the first part is to use your Ice Plasmid and freeze him. Then, switch to your
Telekinesis Plasmid. Grab an explosive tank and throw it at him. Also, if desired,
just use your telekinesis. He is very predictable if you are far away from him.
Wait for him to throw a fire ball at you then move out of the way. He will
continue to run past you. Use this chance to fire the machine gun, which does the
most damage to him. Once he goes back to his chamber to gain his life back, change
to the Flame Plasmid and get ready for some bots. Once he starts his routine of
fire and run, blast again him with the Flame Plasmid. The more you blast him, the
faster he loses life. Continue to use the machine gun while he is aflame. He will
now go back to his chamber one last time. He now has electrical powers. Keep your
Flame Plasmid ready. This time, shoot him with the Flame Plasmid and he will run
for the water. Once he jumps in the water and comes back out, hit him with it again.
Be aware that there are splicers all over as well. Also set them ablaze to get some
extra life. There are many different ways to defeat him but this seemed to be the
easiest.

Defeating Atlas Fontaine II:
----------------------------
The easiest way to defeat Atlas is to make sure that you have the fully upgraded
shotgun and the Decoy ability. After you drain his Adam, drop a decoy and while
Atlas is attacking it, use the shot gun. After you have used all four rounds
immediately cast Decoy again, reload your shotgun, then begin shooting him again.
Repeat this until you have to drain his Adam. Once again, reload your shotgun and
Plasmids before you drain his Adam. Then start over using Decoy and the shotgun.
Use Health Packs as needed and ignore any Splicers in the area, as they will be
paying attention to your Decoy just like Atlas.

Defeating Rosies:
-----------------
When fighting a Rosie, use armor piercing rounds from the machine gun or pistol. For
a more effective way of killing, launch frag grenades and run out a door. The Rosie
will follow you, fire proximity mines at the door, and when it walks through it will
be damaged or destroyed.

Alternate endings:
------------------
There are two different endings in the game, depending on how the Little Sisters
were treated. If more than one Little Sister was harvested, the "bad" ending will
play. If no more than one Little Sister was harvested, but the rest were rescued,
the "good" ending will play.

Star Wars reference:
--------------------
Get to the point when you reach the medical pavilion and must unlock the doors.
When you pull the first switch and go to the second, pull it and Atlas will say
"Now you have stirred the Wookie cage".

Slot machine:
-------------
Save the game before you start playing. Just keep reloading the game until
you hit it.

Weapon Upgrade Station locations:
---------------------------------
1 - In Peach Wilkins' hideout (Neptune's Bounty), bottom floor. As soon as you come
downstairs it is directly in front of you.
2 - On the way to Farmer's Market in Arcadia, the station is located to the left
after you go up the first stairs coming from Tree Farm.
3 - The Winery's basement in Farmer's Market. There is a flooded area with one of
     them attached to the wall. It is in front of you when you come down the stairs;
     just keep going forward.
4 - In Fort Frolic, from the Atrium bottom floor, go towards the bathrooms. Then,
move right and follow the path until you see some small stairs to your right
leading up to a door. Go inside then go down into the basement. The basement
is filled with cigars and the like. The upgrade station is on the wall.
5 - Go to Poseidon Plaza in Fort Frolic. Go to the other end of the bottom floor
(the opposite end of where you enter). Go into Sinclair Spirits (the room that
has a corpse on a sort of "altar"). In the basement of this store is the
     station.
6 - In Hephaestus Core Room, go down to the bottom floor and run around (literary).
Eventually you will see it attached to the wall.
7 - In Hephaestus, Kyburz's office. It is attached to the left wall (back turned to
the entrance) in the rear of the room.
8 - At the bottom floor of the Mercury Suites area, on the back of the center pillar.
9 - In Sander Cohen's secret room, in the Olympus Heights' Mercury Suites area.
10 - Go to Atlas' Headquarters in Apollo Square (Fontaine's Home For The Poor area).
It is located on the fourth floor. Go down the stairs in the room and look to the
right. The station will be in front of you.
11 - When you enter Point Prometheus and chase Fontaine, eventually you will end up
in a little square and Fontaine will go behind a locked Museum door. At the
opposite end of this square (from where you came) is a dead Big Daddy. Next to
     it is the upgrade.
12 - In the Voice changing labs in Point Prometheus, one of the labs has it.

Quick Reloads:
--------------
The following works with both the Crossbow and the Grenade Launcher. While shooting
either, you can rapidly reload by pressing the left trigger, then quickly after
pressing the right trigger. This will allow you to start shooting without having to
wait longer (several seconds) for your weapon to reload.
This is especially useful against powerful enemies like Big Daddies.

Security Drone Manipulation:
----------------------------
Use a blast of the Electric Shock Plasmid to temporarily disable security drones before
you do anything else in a room. Then, run up to them within five seconds and hack them!
You can hack while the game is on virtual "pause." You'll have security drones on your
side for the rest of the time you are in a fight after doing this.

Big Daddy Battle:
-----------------
In order to do this, you need the Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid and the Natural Camouflage
Tonic. All you have to do is use the Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid on a Big Daddy so that
he thinks you're a Little Sister and protects you. Now here's the fun part - simply find
and attack another Big Daddy and your Big Daddy will attack it to protect you.

Big Daddy Kills:
----------------
When fighting a Big Daddy, use armor-piercing rounds, as they will deal considerable damage
compared to regular rounds.

Big Daddy Kills II:
-------------------
Once you get the Grenade Launcher and the Proximity Mines, this technique can be employed.
Find a red fuel tank (all over the place), and cover it with about 6 Proximity Mines or so.
Next, use Telekinesis to lift the massive explosive device and hurl it at a Big Daddy.
This deals massive damage, leaving you with minimal effort to finish the job. Just be
careful not to have the bomb blow up before you get there. (The launcher upgrade that
deals no damage to you is a great thing to have just in case.)

Easy kills:
-----------
From the start you will have a wrench and the Electric Bolt Plasmid at your disposal. Using
these is rapid succession against most Splicers can often result in an efficient, quick kill.
First, shock the Splicer. Before the convulsion ends, switch out the wrench, aim high, and
hit the Splicer over the head. The most efficient way of eliminating the agile Spider
Splicers however is to unleash a few clips of anti-personnel ammo, preferably from the
machine gun.

Defeating: Frank Fontaine:
--------------------------
To defeat Frank Fontaine very fast, when you first enter the room hit him with the tool
the Little Sisters gave you. Fight him when he throws you off. Once he is back on the bed,
run up and hit him again with the tool to drain his Adam. This works a lot faster due to
him only have four or five jars of Adam to drain, and the fights are not very long
afterwards.

Defeating Peach Wilkins:
------------------------
When the dark cloud envelopes the icy battlefield upon which you must face Peach Wilkins,
save the game and locate the hostile turret at the end of the room when the cloud clears.
Load the game and run to it before the cloud clears, so that you can quickly freeze or
shock it. Then, hack it so it shoots your enemies. Crouch down by the area to your right
when facing the turret. There are a few barriers here to protect you from enemy fire.
However, to avoid damage by Wilkins' grenades, keep Telekinesis as your active Plasmid.
He will avoid the turret's fire, but as long as you stay behind the barriers by the turret
he will stay at a safe distance. This gives you time to calmly return his grenades using
Telekinesis until he dies. The turret will take out most of the Splicers.
This method makes things much easier because it eliminates the hectic "run around and
whack people with the wrench" strategy that is otherwise your only option. That turret
if not used as an ally would probably be the main cause of your death, along with the
bots triggered by the security camera. By hiding near the allied turret however, you
also hide from the camera's view.

Reaching Fontaine's penthouse:
------------------------------
The code to get to Fontaine's penthouse is from the diary: "5744".

Chompers Dental key:
--------------------
The key to Chompers Dental in the Medical Pavilion is acquired by using Telekinesis through
the broken window to the left of the door. There should be a corpse hanging over the broken
window. The key should be grabbed with Telekinesis because it is hanging on a wall on the
other side of the window. You can get Telekinesis in an area near here. You will need to
get that first, but do not follow the arrow back to the rubble that you need to get rid
of until you explore Chompers Dental. There is a safe and other good items to be found
inside. Note that both Telekinesis and Chompers Dental are near where you find the shotgun.

Defeating Big Daddies:
----------------------
Once you have obtained the crossbow and at least five Trap Bolts, it will be very easy to
take down a Big Daddy. Face a wall and stand about three feet away. Make sure it is not
something that the bolts can bounce off of, and also make sure you have a nice ten foot
long straight wall. Once you are better skilled at this technique, you can try for shorter
lengths if desired. Point straight ahead and fire out a bolt. Take about two steps to the
left or right, depending on which way the Bid Daddy is, and at your location, and fire
another. Fire all five bolts out, then shoot the Big Daddy once with anything. If done
correctly, it will run through the line of traps, taking enough health down so he can be
killed with a few shots of your weapon of choice. Note: This may not work in an open area
because Big Daddies strafe frequently. If you have the damage increase for the crossbow,
it will only take three or four bolts to kill him. Do not crouch while setting up the
traps. If the Big Daddy walks another way and gets out of sight, you may need to go back
to get him. If you do get him, you can crouch under the set traps. An easy way to trigger
bolt traps is to pick up something with Telekinesis and drag the object through it.

Unlockable: Good Ending / Bad Ending:
-------------------------------------
There are two possible endings for BioShock that depend on how you treated little sisters
throughout the game. If you choose to "harvest" more than one little sister, you will get
the bad BioShock ending. If, however, you "harvest" no more than one little sister but
"rescue" the others, you will get the good BioShock ending.

Free Health Packs:
------------------
While you can buy health packs at health stations for $10, you can get them for free by
simply smashing the machines with your wrench. After a few hits, between 1-3 health packs
should lie on the floor for you to grab, for free.

Molotov cocktails:
------------------
The various alcoholic beverages (for example, Arcadia Merlot, Old Tom Whiskey, etc.)
scattered throughout the game, while normally used to recover health, can be turned
into Molotov cocktails similar to those used by the "Nitro Splicer" enemy. To do this,
one needs a source of flame, such as the chemical thrower, the "Incinerate!" Plasmid,
or an environmental source. Ignite the alcohol bottle, pick it up with the "Telekinesis"
Plasmid, and throw at your enemy of choice.

Easy Splicer Kills:
-------------------
For easy Splicer kills, simply use Telekinesis on one to hurl its body at others in the
vicinity. This method usually results in a one-hit kill and is especially useful against
higher-level Splicers.

Defeating Rosies:
-----------------
While in levels that have more than one Little Sister in them, you may see a
Rosie roaming the level alone. The following should only happen if you have
already harvested or saved at least one, but not all the Little Sisters in
that level. The lone Rosie will walk up to one of the many holes in the walls
through which the girls crawl through. It will bang on the metal and wait.
Then it will help a Little Sister jump down from the opening. The girl will
then lead the Rosie throughout the level. Therefore, when hunting these
formidable enemies, do not attack or ignore a Rosie if it walks alone (as
long as in the pause screen it says that there is still at least one Little
Sister remaining). Rather, follow it. Wait for it to summon a Little Sister
out of the wall, then attack it using whatever strategy suits you.
If you attack it when it's alone you will not get to harvest or save any
Little Sister as a reward for killing it.

Repair Security Bots:
---------------------
If you happen to have hacked a damaged security bot (has a burning back, and is
almost destroyed), simply deactivate and reactivate the little abomination,
you're bodyguard will be good as new.

Research Help:
--------------
There are 7 research subject achievements, and then there's one for filling all
research. Research is acquired by taking photos of the enemies. There are seven
organic(?) enemies, and then there are the security enemies. Although the security
don't have their own achievements, they still count towards the PhD. Here are tips
for getting these achievements, if you need them:

1. Although you can (usually) only get a perfect picture score once on a subject,
you can continue to take photos of the same subject for another 2-4 pictures
(5 was the most I got).

2. If you don't get all the research before the final boss (little sisters are the
hardest) you can take your Big Daddy Suit into all the other levels. Not only does
it give you an extra 25% damage resistance, none of the splicers, big daddies, or
security will attack you. This leaves you free to take photos of all the enemies
you need.

3. If you "dealt" with all the little sisters and still haven't gotten the research
for them, you can go to the beginning of the "Proving Grounds" level. Go to the very
end of the track to the second to last "hidey Hole." bang on it with your wrench,
then take pictures of the little girl that comes out. She will lead you for a short
ways, and then go back into the final hole. GLITCH: if you do this more than once,
the girls start to stack. I don't know how high it goes because I only did it once,
but I think they can go into the wall. If you need to, go back to the beginning and
repeat.

The only bad thing about this is that there is an annoying message that continues
to flash "Ride the elevator to face **Final Boss**." This message will flash until
you actually ride the elevator. If you follow tip #3, then you will have an annoying
message saying "Take the **** Harvesting Tool" flash. This message will flash until
you beat the boss.

Telekinesis Drop:
-----------------
While using the Telekinesis Plasmid, you can drop the item you are holding instead
of throwing it across the room. To do this you must have an item currently being
held. Pick up any item, with the Telekinesis Plasmid selected. Using the LT button,
keep holding the item, and don’t let go of the LT button.
When you’re ready to drop the item, press the RB button to open your weapons menu,
and in the transition of the weapons menu opening, let go of the LT button. Choose
your weapon and the item will drop safely to your feet. If done correctly, the item
falls at your feet, instead of being thrown, which makes the item easier to find
when you need it.

A simpler way to drop the item you're holding is to just hit 'X'. So, with the
Telekinesis Plasmid armed, hold LT to TK something to you. While it's 'in your
face', press X to drop it on the ground. No need to switch to weapons.

---------------------

destroyed), simply deactivate and reactivate the little abomination, you're bodyguard
will be good as new.

Sander Cohen's Death:
---------------------
Sander Cohen will ask you to take four pictures for him to complete his masterpiece.
After you do that, you can kill him at your convenience.

Easy Splicer Kills:
-------------------
Simply use Telekinesis on one to hurl a body at others. This method usually results
in a one-hit kill and is especially useful against higher-level Splicers.

General Tips:
-------------
* The first Plasmid, and the first weapon you find are the best in the game.
* Zap em and whack em, that's all you need to know.
* Research everything, it's well worth it. The Houdini Splicers are well worth your
time since you'll get the most useful Tonic in the game.
* Get over being scared, the enemies aren't that bad.
* Explore every room in every area and you'll get more out of the game.

Weapon upgrades:
----------------
Use a text editor to create the file "upgrades.txt" in the "ContentSystem" directory
in the game folder. Add any of the following codes as separate lines in that file. Then
use a text editor to edit the "User.ini" file in the
"Documents and Settings[username]Application DataBioshock" directory in Windows XP or
the "Users[username]AppDataRoamingBioShock" directory in Windows Vista.
Note: You may first need to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed first. find it.
Scroll down to the "[Default]" header. Choose a currently unbound key bind by inserting
the line "Exec upgrades.txt"; for example "F7=Exec upgrades.txt".
Note: If you upgrade a weapon you do not have yet, they will be enabled when you pick
up that weapon.

When playing Bioshock money plays a promising but not that much imortant role in the game.
Although it helps a lot buy Ammo and First aid kits, it is not much important once you get
the hang of it. after a while you don't even want money to buy those things. And the most
important problem is you can't carry more than 500$ so make sure that you have money of
350-450$ only after that amount try to buy some ammo. we don't want to leave the money on
the floor do we?. the same thing occurs to AutoHack thingies they are also limited to 5
only so if you 5 of them dont try hack it yourself unless you are hack-o-intelligent.

Unlockable Endings:
-------------------
Ending A - Rescue all of the little sisters in the game.
Ending B - Harvest all of the little sisters in the game.
Ending C - Harvest one little sister in the game, and rescue the rest.

Defeating Big Daddies:
----------------------
Most of the time, Little Sisters will return to the same corpses several times. You can
use this to your advantage by placing the corpse near a security camera with the Telekinisis
plasmid. Then, wait for her to show up and tag her Big Daddy with the Security plasmid. He
will keep returning if he survives. You can stay in the same safe location and wait for the
bots to finish off the Big Daddy.

Avoiding Splicers, Bots, Big Daddies and turrets:
-------------------------------------------------
Research the Houdini Splicers enough until you get the Natural Camouflage Tonic. If you
have this equipped, if you remain still you will become invisible. This will protect you
from Splicers, Big Daddies, and Bots if you set off an alarm. If you move again you will
become visible. If an enemy sees you, you cannot become invisible. If you are invisible
and an enemy besides a Bot touches you, they will see you. The cameras and turrets also
cannot see you if you are invisible.
