He is a member and leader of an outlaw biker gang named 'The Polecats'. He and his gang hang mainly around Highway 9, with their most used bar being Kick Stand. Ben is big, bulky, strong and tough, and has spent most of life biking. He's very streetwise and knows how the world works. He was a good friend of Malcolm Corley, and they were each impressed by each other. *********************** * II - Maureen Corley * *********************** Maureen Corley spent just about her whole life working with machines and in the mechanics area. She assembled her first carburettor at the age of four, making her father, Malcolm Corley think her a mechanics prodigy. She also spent most of her life being kept a secret from the outside world, as she was a bastard (child of unmarried parents ^_^). She thinks highly of her father, but he left her when she was young. Before Ben arrived, she spent her time rebuilding toasters. Her father's special nickname for her was Diapered Dynamo. ************************** * III - Adrian Ripburger * ************************** Ripburger, the villain of Full Throttle, has plenty of tricks up his sleeve. He is a killer instinct and will do anything to make a career for himself. Malcolm Corley even praised him for his killer instinct and his will to win. He expects to be left Corley Motors when he dies, and, as we are told, he would have dyed in a few months. His cronies include Nectar and Bolus, and he is the enemy of many. ********************** * IV - Malcom Corley * ********************** A genius in the eyes of bikers, Malcolm Corley earns much respect for himself. He is the owner of Corley Motors, the last motorcycle-making company in the country. He has a daughter, one, Maureen Corley, though she is not a daughter of his marriage. He regrets keeping Maureen a secret all his life, as told in his will. He also planned to give the company to Maureen when he died. A generous and kind man, Malcolm Corley is the friend of many. He was a true biker, but now he has settled for a life of wealth and of business. ********************** * V - Nestor & Bolus * ********************** Nestor and Bolus are the two cronies of Adrian Ripburger. They are hard workers though, even though they are quite evil. For example, in return for killing Ben, Nestor and Bolus were promised to be made vice-presidents of Corley Motors, and receive a lot of stock. Unfortunately, they were both killed in the attempt, and Ripburger showed little remorse for doing so. They both dress well. ********************* * VI - Miranda Wood * ********************* Miranda Wood was the reporter whom took photographical evidence of Malcolm Corley's murder by Adrian Ripburger. She was found out hiding in the nearby bushes, though, and had her camera taken from her. Earlier in the game, Miranda also found Ben after he had had a crash, saving his life, and also introducing him to Maureen who fixed his bike and acted doctor for him. ******************************************************************************* **====================================***====================================** ** 5. - Gameface ** **====================================***====================================** ******************************************************************************* As you may know, each game has its (usually) original Gameface. This section will detail that particular element of Full Throttle. Travelling is easy - Move the crosshair curser around the screen and left click to have Ben walk there. While you are playing, and you want to do something with a listed object, left click and hold to bring up the options. Clicking on the eyes of the skull will indicate you want to examine or look at the item. The Mouth of the skull will let you talk to the item or person, or use your mouth on it. The boot will have Ben kick something. The fist or hand will have Ben pick up the object, use the object or punch it. To bring up your inventory, right click on your mouse. The list will be in a skull. There are four items on each screen and you may scroll through the collected items by clicking the left or right arrows. To use an item with something outside the inventory, click on it and drag the curser to what you want to add the item to. Exit the inventory by clicking somewhere else on the screen. While travelling on your bike, swing the mouse to either side to have Ben move the bike to one side of the road. To make a turn, click both mouse buttons and go to the correct side of the road at which the turn is on. A road sign will be displayed before the turn appears. On the Old Mine Road, you might have to engage in a fight while on your motorbike. To take a swing at your opponent with whatever weapon you're holding, click the left mouse button. To change the selected weapon and to cycle through your weapons, left click. ******************************************************************************* **====================================***====================================** ** 6. - Walkthrough ** **====================================***====================================** ******************************************************************************* Table of Contents: I. - Prologue II. - Part One 'Enter Ben' III. - Part Two 'Bike Repairs' IV. - Part Three 'The Murder' V. - Part Four 'The Old Mine Road' VI. - Part Five 'Corley Motors' VII. - Part Six 'The Truth of the Death' VIII. - Part Seven 'The Demise of Ripburger' IX. - Epilogue **====================================***====================================** ** Prologue ** **====================================***====================================** Ben, the main character, reminisces back to the time when this tale starts, and talks about an accident he has. Soon after, we cut to a shot of a limo and two people inside, arguing. Malcolm Corley, the owner of Corley Motors, berates his employee, Adrian Ripburger, about a plan for an upcoming shareholder's meeting. Not long after, a gang of bikers named The Polecats overtake the limo. Corley is impressed by the leader's attitude and calls to his driver to catch up with the gang. *Cue the intro credits* After the credits, we cut to an outside shot of the biker bar, Kick Stand. Inside are the Polecats. One of the members talks to the leader, Ben, about their financial situation... Ben notes they are broke. He gets a feeling something big will happen. Mr. Corley then enters and asks who rode over his car. We then get a shot of inside the limo, where Ripburger wonders why Malcolm is taking so long in the bar. Back inside the bar, Corley and Ben talk about some memories of Corley. Ripburger then interrupts, and asks about a business proposal including the rent of The Polecats as an escort service. Ripburger mentions that Malcolm Corley is dying, and Ben asks to step outside with Ripburger. A chat about Corley's health ensues, and then one of the drivers hits Ben with a two-by-four. One of Ripburger's workers takes Ben's jacket and bike. Ripburger returns inside the bar and tells the Polecats that, not only has Ben has accepted the proposal, but he has gone ahead to scout the road. **====================================***====================================** ** Part One - 'Enter Ben' ** **====================================***====================================** You take control of Ben as he lies, beaten up in a dumpster. Use the lid to get out and then go to the front side of the bar. If you try to use the door, you will find that it is locked. Kick it in instead. Talk to the Bartender (Quohog), and you will find some useful information... Stop talking to him and use the fist on him. He will give you your keys and you can continue on your way. He also mentions something about an ambush farther up the road on the Polecats. Exit the bar and use your bike. Ben then thinks about his excellent road skills, somewhat arrogantly. Soon, a Rottwheeler appears on the road ahead of Ben. After some fighting talk, you will engage in a fight on your bikes. Punch with the left mouse button or by pressing enter on your keyboard. Once you knock him off his bike, you can continue with the game. Ben then speeds on, eventually pulling a wheelie. In an odd twist of fate, the front wheel of his bike falls off. In vain, Ben tries to keep the bike in a wheelie stance, but Alas! not to be. The front forks touch the road sending up a shower of sparks and then engulfing the bike in flames. Ben wakes up with his head spinning and some scratches. The weight of what is going to happen and what is happening crushes down on him. He sighs and falls asleep. Ben later wakes up but he has still not recovered enough strength to move. He returns to slumber. Later that night, someone comes by and starts taking pictures of Ben. Ben groans and she gets him some help. **====================================***====================================** ** Part Two - 'Bike Repairs' ** **====================================***====================================** When Ben returns to consciousness again, he finds someone in a gas mask looming above. He asks vaguely who she is, and she introduces herself as Maureen. She tells the story hastily of what happened, and then mentions Ben's bike. Ben gets up to discover Maureen has fixed it almost. Chat to her for a while to fins she needs some gas, some front forks and her welding equipment to finish the job and get Ben out of Melonweed. Pick up the hose in the corner. Pick up the gas can also. Leave the garage when you're ready. Go to the trailer up the way. Bang on the door thrice and then kick it in. Open the cabinet above the couch. Pick up the lock pick inside and then open the refrigerator. Pick up the meat inside and use the white panel on the top right side. This is Todd's art forge. It seems he has stolen Maureen's torch, so pick up the torch below and Ben will return automatically to the garage to give the torch to Mo. Go to the tower in the Northeastern corner of town. Use the lock pick on the lock. Pick up the lock when it is flung on the ground. Enter the grounds then. Touch the ladder and an alarm will sound. Run to the top left of the screen behind the small silo. The guards will come, but will not be able to find anything or anyone. They land to take a closer look. Open the gas cap and put the hose inside. Use the gas can with the hose. Suck on the hose to get some gas out and start it going. The guards will spot you, so high-tail it out of there. The leader will then call in reinforcements. Ben will take the gas back to Maureen. All you need now are some front forks. Go to the large building by the trailer. Use the lock on the door to keep it in place and then climb up the chain nearby. Get down off the wall and look in the pile of parts. A vicious guard dog will appear, and Ben will scatter. The dog then runs off to a different part of the grounds. Get down off the wall again and walk to the right. Enter. Use the meat with the blue car. Leave and return to the wall. Continue to the right again and enter the crane control area. Move the leftmost lever thrice down. Hit the red button and then use the leftmost level up a few times. The dog will be trapped inside the car suspended in mid- air. Return to the main area and pick up forks from the pile of parts. Ben will then return to Maureen's place, giving her the forks. She will ask him to wait outside, also saying there is a surprise to be added. If you haven't looked at the picture before, Ben will return inside and enquire about one of the pictures on the wall. He finds it's her dad on their Mink Farm. She mentions she sometimes goes there if she suffers from stress. Anywho, once you see the bike, Ben will be very thankful. He discovers the surprise is a top-of- the-rage booster pack modified onto the bike. Mo leaves some hints about where she got it. Ben then says his goodbyes while setting her garage on fire... Ben speeds off on his bike, but Alas! he cannot pass, as there has been a roadblock set up on the way to the ambush. He reluctantly turns back. Go to the gas tower on the edge of town and touch the ladder. The guards in their flying hover things will think he's back at the tower. They all (stupidly) leave their positions at the roadblock while Ben escapes on his bike. **====================================***====================================** ** Part Three - 'The Murder' ** **====================================***====================================** Ben catches up with The Polecats and enquires about Corley. One of Ben's Polecat friends tells him how he has such a small bladder... A cut-scene ensues... Corley comes back from the bathroom trying to close his zip. The reporter who found Ben starts taking pictures, trying to get Corley to lessen his image. Ripburger looms up behind Corley and hits him with his cane. Bolus then finds the reporter in the bushes and brings her out to show Adrian. She escapes and runs off. Ripburger mentions how Bolus has an appointment with another Corley family member. Ripburger then poses to finish off Corley, but Ben appears. Ben speaks to Corley while he dies. He mentions how Ripburger attacked him and asks Ben to make a promise to hurt Ripburger bad. He also mentions his daughter... Maureen... I wonder who he could be talking about (*Mock Puzzled Face*) Ben speeds back to Melonweed, knowing Ripburger is way ahead. He arrives, but finds no limo, then thinking he has beaten Ripburger there. He takes a look at the outside of the garage and dismisses those thoughts instantly. You will then retake control of Ben. Drive along the highway. Ben then finds another roadblock is situated where he just came from. He will return to Melonweed. Get back on the bike and drive to Kick Stand in the opposite direction. Enter the bar when you arrive. Once inside, Quohog will say something along the lines of "Hey Killer..." Watch the screen and listen to the story. You will find there are roadblocks along Highway 9, and all of The Polecats have been arrested. If you try to talk to Quohog, he won't listen to you. Oh, the injustice of it all... Emmet is the guy with the knife. Talk to him. Ask about getting a ride with him. He will flatly refuse. If you want to play the knife game, keep saying, "I can do that." or "Let me show you how to do that." You can cut up your hand pretty good, if you want. Anyway, exit the bar and go around to the side where the dumpster is. Miranda is there, and she will be calling you. She will tell Ben how she has pictures of the Corley Murder, and will ask you to call her editor. She will give you a fake ID to get through the roadblocks, also. Bring the ID inside and give it to Emmet. Ben will explain the situation and then will ask Emmet to take him to the Mink Farm. Emmet will get Ben to ride in the engine compartment, and will also put your bike under some fertilizer. Good cover. Inside, Ben will mutter to himself that Emmet has a fuel leak. When Emmet is stopped by the Feds, he will be able to smooth his way past them. Ben wakes up and finds they have stopped moving. He gets out of the engine compartment and finds Emmet fixing his truck. He will have already left out your bike and will speed off with little backchat. When he's gone, Ben finds his fuel line has been stolen by Emmet to fix HIS fuel leak. Ben swears an oath of revenge to claim Emmet's life. Go inside the house and go upstairs. Pick up the pillow and the tyre iron beneath. Use the tyre iron with the lock on the chest. Ben finds a hose to use on his bike. Not long after, Mo speeds out on her bike. Ben rushes out and speeds up to catch her. When he draws near, she speeds off. It seems she has used Ben's booster fuel! Emmet then passes Ben. He rams him once and then drives off. Ben then notes the passing sign, which denotes he has entered Cavefish territory. Cavefish then spot Ben, but pose him no threat. They then catch up with Emmet, which they feel is a target, it being a freight truck. Emmet sees the Cavefish and drops his cargo. It only destroys one of the Cavefish. One of the others shoot a bomb at Emmet, which hits. Emmet, thinking he has won, drives across the bridge with little caution. The bomb blows up while he is halfway across the bridge. Once the Cavefish find what Emmet's cargo was, they abandon it and drive off on their cool bikes. We then cut to a shot of a blue car parked outside the mink farm. Ripburger's cronies are inside. **====================================***====================================** ** Part Four - 'The Old Mine Road' ** **====================================***====================================** Ben slows up at the fertilizer spillage. Pick up some fertilizer and use the tyre iron with the wheels of the truck. Ben will try to knock over the trunk, and will block one side of the road. Lucky we didn't crush Ben's bike when tipping the truck over, huh? Anyway, go down highway 9, away from the screen. Get off the highway at one of the Mine Road exits. The first biker you'll meet is Father Torque, the now-retired previous leader of The Polecats. You can talk to him about some things, but he offers no help about your current situation. He explains about the Old Mine Road, and why it's there. If you ask for fighting tips, he will give you some, but only on each different type of biker on the roads. He gives good advice when he says, "Remember, Ben it's not about muscle, it's about TIMING." though. Father Torque is one of the few helpful people in Adventure games. Torque also mentions the famous Ricky Myran when you mention the Gorge. Myran jumped it on a bike from a ramp. He mentions how to get to the Cavefish hideout. Anyway, he will leave your company when you have little left to say. Here follows a little in-game of Full Throttle. You will notice that you will find many different bikers on the Old Mine Road, whereas any confrontation will lead to a fight, with the loser being the first to fall. You can use weapons of your choice. The chainsaw is the strongest weapon, usually you can fall any opponent with one shot. The mace is next, although it will take much longer to defeat any opponent. Next is the chain, which is also the quickest weapon. The two-by-four is the next best, with its range being it's best advantage. The other two weak weapons are the tyre iron and your fists. The optional weapon is the fertilizer, which is found at the truck crash. This is also a powerful weapon, but bikers will learn how to avoid it. Some can already evade it as some wear goggles or glasses. Also, after you acquire a new weapon or piece of equipment, a short cut-scene will appear with Ben lifting the new item. The Rottwheelers are the larger balder bikers with the thick wheels and usually red bikes. They usually carry either maces or chains. The odd one will carry a two-by-four, though. Most Rottwheelers can be downed in between eight and fourteen shots of any weapon. These are the easiest of the bikers on the Mine Road to down. Cavefish are easy to spot, as they are the crouching ones with the yellow bikes. They will not attack you unless you get too close. Then they will squirt out a slippery substance, which makes you fall instantly. The only way to defeat them is with the two-by-four or the by using the cheat. Once you defeat a Cavefish, you will get their Cavefish-adapted goggles. This will help you enter their cave. The Vultures are the whiney people, which usually have boosters. The easiest way to down these is via manure. There are only three types of Vultures: A dark-skinned guy with glasses, a guy wearing black with sunglasses and a goatee, and the bitchey girl with the chainsaw. They are both very tough to beat, without fertilizer or a chainsaw. It is easiest to down the two without boosters with fertilizer, but the dark skinned guy you should down with a chain, however. When you defeat the dark-skinned guy, you will receive boosters. Note that if you go too close to the side of the road, you'll fall anyway. Also note that the cheat, Left Shift + V will automatically defeat your opponent. Don't use it though. By the way, you can exit the Old Mine Road at any time. Just go near an exit and right click. Once you get the boosters, the goggles and each of the weapons, you can continue on with the story. Put on the goggles when the icon appears. To do this, right click to bring up the new view. Wait until 'cave' appears in the bottom left corner. When it does, enter. Pass the stops until you get to the main cave where the ramp is. Bring the ramp over and hook it to your bike. Bring it to the next screen. Take the ramp off and knock some of the yellow dots off the road. The Cavefish will follow the trail and then crash, seeing as how they are guided by the dots. Leave and set the ramp up. Get back on your bike and go as far down the road as possible. Nestor and the other guy will be in a blue car. Drive past the overturned trailer, and they will crash. Ripburger will pick them up. Go back to where they crashed and use the tyre iron with the car. Use the hover equipment with your bike. Travel down to the bridge and use the highway sign. Ben will make the jump. He will travel on by night and eventually find the Corley Motors factory. **====================================***====================================** ** Part Five - 'Corley Motors' ** **====================================***====================================** Get off your bike. Go down the path and enter the Stadium. Use the joystick and the batteries will get weak. Look at the T-Shirts to get Horace to turn around. Pick up the bunny. Leave and get back on your bike. Go to the Vultures Hideout. It is off the road down a dirt track. Mines protect the Vulture's hideout. Use the bunny with the minefield. When he's blown up, pick up the batteries and return to the souvenir stand. Use the batteries with the toy car and use the joystick again. Drive the car up the corridor. Then, drive it through the turnstiles. Horace will chase after it. Return to the stand and pick up a box of bunnies. Return to the hideout. Use the ox of bunnies with the minefield. Pick them all up before they can be destroyed. Return to the Smash-A-Torium and pick up another box of bunnies. Return to where the hideout is and let them loose again, but pick them all up before they blow up. You might reach your limit of maximum inventory here. Return to the stand and pick up another box. Set them loose. Set loose all of the bunnies *IN THE SAME LINE* until they have cleared a path through the minefield. Once they do, Ben will automatically walk to the hideout. The Vultures will capture Ben and tie him up, each limb tied to a motorcycle. A form of torture, they accelerate whenever you do something incorrect. Converse thusly to get somewhere: "Let me go, or else..." "I'll call you names." "Diapered Dynamo" She will hear the true story after she gets confused at how Ben knows the name. She looks at the roll, and apologises to Ben for what her gang did. Suzi, Ben and Maureen make a plan to make it appear as if they have died. The plan is to have Ben and Mo's cars crash head on into each other. When they do, an explosion will take place and Maureen will be ejected from her car. To distract the audience, Ben will run around on fire. Simple, no? Once the destruction derby starts, get a small start on run over the ramp on the left. You will bounce off the roof of the orange car and stall it. The blue car will get in the way of Maureen and won't let you go near her. Bash the orange car over to the ramp on the other side and put it beneath it. Jump across the ramp to stall the blue car, leaving you free to take our Maureen. Do so. After the cut scene, run to the top left side of the stadium and set all of that section on fire. The spectators will start to panic and will then start fleeing from the stadium. The Boom-Boom Brothers will still have to kill you. After the blue car chases you atop the orange car, it will start ramming you. Run across onto the Blue car's roof. When you get a chance, run into the flames from the previous explosion. The blue car will follow and will eventually explode, killing the two. **====================================***====================================** ** Part Six - 'The Truth of the Death' ** **====================================***====================================** You will be returned to the Vulture Hideout. Maureen will have dismantled the old motorcycle and will be searching for a 'key'. If you ask her about it, she will explain that it is the key to her father's safe in his office. She also explains about a secret entrance to the office. Note all she says. Look at the parts and you will find some code numbers. The only useful one is the six-digit one, 154492. Note it. Return to the Corley Motors Factory and go around to the back. When the meters all have black in the centre kick the wall somewhere along the crack where it would be eye level to a six-year-old. It shouldn't take too long. Anyway, a hatch will open, and you can go inside. Once in the office, look at the floor safe. Enter the code previously found on the bike. 154492, if you fail to remember correctly. Press the square beneath when entered. Pick up the film and key card and leave the office into the corridor. Enter the first room. Watch the speech. Once you've been chased away by security, return to the corridor. Use the key in the lock at foot level. Enter the now unlocked door. Use the motor lever once, and switch off the lamp lever and then turn it back on to ruin the apparatus. Leave. Return inside the first door and put the photos on the easel. Use the film with the film reel. Watch the cut-scene. Ben shows the shareholder what really happened to Malcolm Corley. Meanwhile, Mo is introduced as the new owner and Ripburger flees the company. Mo and Ben then ride off into the sunset... Briefly. Ripburger appears behind Ben and Maureen and rams them. They land on the front of the truck. Maureen falls beneath the truck. Suzi and the Vultures then loom up behind Ripburger's truck. You then get re-control of Ben. **====================================***====================================** ** Part Seven - 'The Demise of Ripburger' ** **====================================***====================================** Open the grill in front of you. Open the panel above the grill, and when Ripburger reaches out with his cane to close it, grab his cane. Jam it in the grill and Ben will climb through to behind Ripburger. Use the tyre iron with the pipe farthest away from you. Ripburger then notices Ben and points a gun at him. Luckily, Mo then tackles him and the truck slows down. It enters the aeroplane. Ripburger is still inside the truck though. He shoots the gun at Ben. Quickly climb up the ladder. Press the green button and enter the following: Take Off, Post Take-Off, Gear, Raise Gear. Ben tackles Ripburger. The plane stops at the edge of the bridge, luckily (*cough*cliché*cough*). Ben and Ripburger are hurled through the window. Get back in the cabin of the truck. Press the red button in the circle. Enter the following: Main Menu, Defence Menu, Machine Guns, System Off. Ripburger's ledge will be taken in, and he will fall to his demise. Note that if you screw this up, you will get another chance anyway. The Vultures will exit the plane, leaving it unsteadier that ever. Walk to the left, past the truck. Use your bike to escape from the plane in all your cheesy glory. **====================================***====================================** ** Epilogue ** **====================================***====================================** The funeral, including many bikers, of Malcolm Corley takes place. Father Torque does the ceremony, and a good one at that. After the ceremony, Ben and Maureen sit in a limo, talking. Maureen's cell phone rings, but Ben leaves during the call. He knows things will change. Ben rides his motorcycle into the sunset and the credits roll. Very long credits, they are. Pretty pointless watching, as nothing happens. ******************************************************************************* **====================================***====================================** ** 7. - Frequently Asked Questions ** **====================================***====================================** ******************************************************************************* **====================================***====================================** ** Part One - 'Enter Ben' ** **====================================***====================================** Q: How do I get out of the dumpster? -------------------------------------- Use the lid. Repeat the process. Repeat the process once more, but don't pick them up when setting them loose. Wait until they've all blown up. Walk to the end of the trail.
