                            FLO ON THE GO

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Well, that's the game- Diner Dash: Flo on the Go. It's the third game in the
series of Diner Dash. This game's storyline is much different that the other
two, though, but Flo on the Go pretty much runs on the same engine that Diner
Dash 2 ran on, with a few more modifications. Flo on the Go is a spectacular
game, along with all of the others in the Diner Dash series. It's my favorite
so far (I only have the first 3 games, but I plan on getting Hometown Hero
soon). It introduces 2 brand new customer types and new types of families as
well. There are 5 new restaurant locations, and new challenges. If you want,
check out my review for more information. This walkthrough does contain
spoilers and methods to get through some of the levels, along with customer &
object information and strategy tips, so don't expect it to be spoiler-free at
all.

Well, this walkthrough contains all of the things that you need to get through
this game. While some levels are quite easy to finish, some are rather hard,
especially when getting expert goals, so there's some strategy tips for each
level separately. Also, if there are any levels that you need specific help
for that isn't shown here, just post it on the GameFAQs Flo on the Go board.
I'll try to reply as soon as possible.

Part 1: Introduction
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I am a Diner Dash addict, I tell you. I love this game so much- I replay it
all the time, along with Diner Dash 2. The original definitely wasn't the
best, but it was a good starter for the series, and once I got Diner Dash 2, I
was eager to get Diner Dash 3. This game is lots of fun, but you'll need to
have plenty of strategy to get through it.

For those of you who are new to Diner Dash... there are some tips in the
chapter "Before You Start" on how to get the most out of a shift. I would
atleast recommend knowing the previous two Diner Dash games before you try
this one. The first one is tough, but it really gets you soaked into the world
of Diner Dash. Diner Dash 2 introduced some brand new features, such as
customers getting mad at eachother, a dessert station, and a phone. It was
much more sophisticated, and Diner Dash: Flo on the Go is even more. Really,
though, if you could get through Diner Dash 2, then you won't have much
trouble making it through this game.

Are you ready to play? This is a great game that you'll enjoy very much.
Although some levels may become frustrating, try very hard to enjoy yourself.

Part 2: Menu
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

  - Story Mode- start Flo's adventure...
  - Endless Shift- play an endless shift- choose your restaurant & difficulty
level
  - Flo's Closet- change Flo's clothes
  - How to Play- use this if you need more help
  - Options- adjust the volume levels. There are 3 different types: sound,
music, and environment. Turn the "Sound" bar up to hear sounds like food
cooking, customers ordering, happiness boosting, customers appearing, and
food/dessert being served. Turn the "Music" bar up to hear more of the
restaurant's music. And, a new but cool feature, turn the "Environment" bar up
to hear the sounds of the location (i.e., the waves in the cruise ship, the
ambience in the submarine, the motor in the blimp, the railroad in the train,
and the space ambience in the rocket.
  - Get More Diner Dash- check out some other Diner Dash games.
  - Quit- quit the game

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Part 3: How to Play
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

This is pretty much how it works with Diner Dash. Each of the steps below is
separate, and everything is required to do in order for the customers to leave
with tipping. Each action also shows what points you earn for doing the
action. If you chain actions together, you can earn more points, though. For
instance, if you chain 2 checks, you'll earn 50 points for the first one, and
100 more points for the second, and if you keep chaining, each one adds on
another 50 points, so for a third chain, you'd get another 150 points. If you
chain orders, you'll get 20 points for the first, 40 points for the second, 60
for the third, etc.

Seat customers
Take order (20 points- order chain)
Drop order at ticket rack (order chain)
Pick up food (food chain)
Serve food (30 points- food chain)
Give check (50 points- check chain)
Clear dishes (40 points- dish chain)
Drop dishes at dish rack (dish chain)

All of these actions are optional. Note that customers request snacks
randomly, dessert if they're really happy at the end of their meal, and the
mop if they spill drinks.

Serve snacks (100 points- snack chain)
Mop up mess (30 points- mop chain)
Pick up dessert (dessert chain)
Serve dessert (80 points- dessert chain)

Well... that's about all of things to do with regular service. As in Diner
Dash 2, though, you have to be careful, because customers can get angry with
other customers. Cellphone addicts are always noisy, families are noisy when
unhappy, and lovebirds kiss pretty randomly. All customers except for
families, joggers, cellphone addicts, and lovebirds don't like kissing or
noise, so be careful.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Part 4: Customer Types
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Whoa... nine customer types for this game, two more than the previous one. And
there are more types of families, too. This section shows the basic things to
know about them- how they tip, their patience levels, and how fast they eat.
Also, you'll notice that if you look at the "How to Play" section of the game,
some of the statistics are different than shown here. However, this is how I
think that the customers behave from having played the game many times. Also,
for the tipping counts, "customer addition" means that if you have 2 customers
of that type, then that's one customer addition. A single customer will give a
maximum tip of whatever is told, but customer additions will add on to the
maximum tip.

Part 5: Objects & Items
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

There is only one new object in this game, and it's not even something that is
"added" to the restaurant, it's something that Flo has all the time. Make note
that some of the objects have had a few changes with how they are used now,
but they're all still pretty much the same. No bench in this game, though,
except for in Endless Shift.

Drink Station
******************
Whenever a drink station lights up, you can serve some from it to any group
that looks like they need a mood burst. Drinks give 1 and a half hearts of
happiness, so use them wisely. Here are the different drinks per restaurant,
although I may be wrong on the Train drink station.
   - Fruit Drinks (Cruise Ship)
   - Lemonade (Train)
   - Beer (Submarine)
   - Milkshakes (Blimp)
   - Galactic Punch (Rocket)

Highchairs
***************
Give highchairs to families so that the baby won't make noise. The moms &
babies group will need double highchairs, though, but the highchairs won't fit
unless they sit at a 4-top table. Highchairs do not fit at the bar, either.

Mop
*******
If a family spills their drinks, use the mop to clean up the mess. Also, in
levels where turbulence is a challenge, use the mop to clean up messes when
the restaurant shakes. Mopping is very chainable, so try to always chain it
whenever possible. Also, unlike in Diner Dash 2, the mop will stay in Flo's
hand until she cleans up all of the messes around.

Podium
***********
Stand at the podium until the heart fills up to give everyone in line a good
happiness boost. The podium is quite useful for making customer happier in
line, and for chaining reasons.

Dessert Station
********************
If a group requests dessert after their regular meal, then always try to serve
it to them. Customers must be really happy to request it, though. You can also
drop their check if things are too busy, but try to never do this unless
you're forced to. Joggers never request dessert, just so you know. Oh, and one
very annoying thing about dessert; you cannot pick up dessert unless there is
demand. This means that although one group may request dessert, you can only
pick up one of them, and only one, unlike in Diner Dash 2. If two parties
request it, though, you can pick up two. These are the different desserts for
each restaurant, although, once again, I'm not sure about the Train dessert
station:
   - Chocolate Cake (Train)
   - Sorbet (Submarine)
   - Banana Split (Blimp)
   - Milky Way CrŠme Brule (Rocket)

Snack Station
******************
If a group requests snacks at any time during their meal, always do your best
to serve some to them. Snacks are very profitable, but if you wait too long to
serve them, and then the customers will get angry and won't want it any more.
Fortunately, if the customers get angry, then the snacks go into the trash
without you having to go over there. These are the different snacks per
restaurant.
   - Shrimp (Submarine)
   - French Fries (Blimp)
   - Onion Rings (Rocket)

Camera
***********
If tourists request a picture during the meal, you can take it with Flo's
camera that she carries everywhere. You must have one free hand, however, in
order to take the picture. Taking pictures gives a couple of tourists a 2-
heart happiness boost.

Staff Phone
***************
A very useful tool, call in a single staff member, once during a shift, for a
limited amount of time. There are 4 different staff members that you can all
in, as shown below. Choose wisely when you call in your staff member, though,
because you only get one call during the shift.
   - Busser (gives checks and clears dishes)
   - Drink Server (serves drinks continuously- drinks are worth half hearts)
   - Hostess (stands at the podium)
   - Entertainer- Pianist, Harpist, Singer, or Alien Musician (plays tunes
worth 1 and a half hearts)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Part 6: Before You Start
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

This game is lots of fun if you don't kill yourself at attaining goals. Don't
get frustrated. New players to the entire Diner Dash series will hit a few
levels that make them want to throw up. There are a couple of levels that even
I have not found a perfect solution to get the expert goal with, and I'm still
working at them. I'm also not done updating this walkthrough. Once I find
better methods for getting those expert goals, I'll post them, but for now,
this is all you've got to help you. It should be enough to atleast get you all
of the regular goals.

New players should know that chaining is essential for some expert goals. If I
were you- for both new players and veterans- try this game first without
making big long chains. I found it to be kind of challenging. And then go
through all of the levels that you missed the expert goal in, and do long
chains. You'll find that it goes more smoothly.

And don't forget to use your objects. Drink stations, the podium, and the
staff phone- the phone especially, sometimes I find myself forgetting about it
until the very end of the shift, when I don't really need it. Always try to
serve some drinks from the drink machine whenever it lights up, or if you're
using the podium to do a long chain, then reserve some drinks by putting them
in your hands.

Are you ready? This is a really fun game, I'm telling you. Good luck and use
this walkthrough whenever you hit any bumps! Oh, and if you manage to get all
of the expert goals in any of the restaurants, you'll unlock a secret level
for that restaurant... I won't spoil the surprises that are in each of them,
but they're all pretty cool. If you want to see what they are, though, check
out the "Secret Levels" section below.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Part 7: Walkthrough
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

This walkthrough shows you how to get through some of the levels with more
detailed strategies. For most levels, you won't need a big strategy table, but
I found some of them to be a little difficult.

Restaurant #1: Cruise Ship
##################################

Well, the game starts out where Flo and Darla are taking a cruise vacation.
They have to close down their restaurants for a whole week. As they're
climbing the stairs, though, some guys knock Flo's luggage into the water,
which contains all of her clothes. The thundering men are the previous chefs
on the ship's restaurant, but it wasn't doing so well, apparently. Flo asks if
they can stop the boat, but it's already underway. As the two of them go to
eat in the restaurant, Flo sees a man about to drop his tray, so Flo grabs it
in the nick of time! The owner of the restaurants claims that she looks like
she knows how to handle a tray... the man will refund their tickets and pay
the two of them if they work in the restaurant. Flo tells Darla that it'll
only be until she gets her clothes back.

Anyway, this restaurant starts out pretty lightly. There are only 2 customer
colors, as always, and when a group leaves angry, they'll cost you 500 points.
Are you ready? The music is tropical, and speaking of tropical, everyone
dresses that way throughout the game... :) Below is each of the upgrades that
you can put on your cruise ship. You only get to use four of them throughout
the restaurant, though.

1. Tables & Chairs
2. Counter
3. Flowerpots & Plants
4. Swimming Pool
5. Chairs
6. Umbrellas
7. Palm Trees

Level 1
************
Goal: $500
Expert Goal: $1000
Upgrades: N/A
Difficulty: 0/10
Tables: 2
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: Young Lady
New Objects: N/A

You're beginning with one customer type, the young lady. She's a pretty
average customer- there isn't a lot of trouble from her. Also, if you want,
check out your closet at the start and change into some different clothes.
You'll get more as you go along- a lot more, for that matter, but if you'd
like, change into something different. Also, if you're not a new player to
Diner Dash, then just click "Skip Tutorial."

Level 2
************
Goal: $2000
Expert Goal: $3500
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 2/10
Tables: 3
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: N/A

You'll need to clear all of the dishes at the start of the shift today, but
this is barely anything compared to some of the challenges that you'll face
later on. With three tables, expect more customers to come through. Oh, and
although nobody got mad in the first level (the tutorial), they'll get angry
if they wait too long in this level... and every other one from now on!

Level 3
************
Goal: $2500
Expert Goal: $5000
Upgrades: Decorations
Difficulty: 3/10
Tables: 4
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: Tourists
New Objects: Camera

Tourists are not a pain until you seat them. They usually ask for a picture
sometime during their meal and they're impatient. Chaining is harder with them
now, because the picture taking always breaks chains. Atleast you can keep
them waiting longer in line than other customers.

Level 4
************
Goal: $5000
Expert Goal: $7000
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 5/10
Tables: 4
Challenges: Blackout
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: N/A

There's always a level like this in every restaurant, but lucky for you, you
only have to put up with 4 tables this time. The problem here is that you can
barely see anything except for where your cursor points. This means that you
can't see picture requests, or how mad the customers in line are getting,
either. Well, be thankful that you don't have a huge rush to work with this
shift.

Level 5
************
Goal: $7000
Expert Goal: $9000
Upgrades: Decorations
Difficulty: 4/10
Tables: 4
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: Fruit Drink Blender

That drink station sure will help out a bunch. Sure, it's easier to keep
customers happy, but in case you haven't noticed, the goal and expert goal are
quite high for being level 5 in the game, compared to Diner Dash 2. Well, the
drink station will solve that problem. Be careful, though, because serving
drinks will disrupt chains.

Level 6
************
Goal: $7000
Expert Goal: $9000
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 5/10
Tables: 5
Challenges: Turbulence
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: Mop

Great. Now you've got to deal with turbulence, but only for this level. This
means that whenever the ship shakes, drinks may spill. Be swift with the mop.
Although mopping is chainable (and worth some big points if you CAN chain it),
it's another thing that can break chains, too.

Level 7
************
Goal: $6000
Expert Goal: $8000
Upgrades: Decorations
Difficulty: 5/10
Tables: 5
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: Family
New Objects: Highchairs

Your third customer type is the family. Families tip & have the patience of
young ladies, but the baby cries when the group gets angry, or when they don't
have a highchair. AND the family can make spills of their own. Fun, I know.
And if the baby starts crying, then nearby customers hear the noise, and they
get angry. Well, if you can give the families quick service and provide them
with highchairs, then everything is peaceful, right?

Level 8
************
Goal: $6200
Expert Goal: $9000
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 6/10
Tables: 6
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: N/A

This level's expert goal is a bit difficult, but not too hard. You'll have to
do longer chaining to get it, though. 6 tables means more business, but also
more places to seat customers. It shouldn't be that difficult.

Level 9
************
Goal: $7000
Expert Goal: $9500
Upgrades: Decorations
Difficulty: 5/10
Tables: 6
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: 2 Moms & Babies
New Objects: N/A

You'll need to grab double highchairs for the double moms & babies, or else
even if one baby has a highchair, the other will still cry. Oh, and DO NOT
seat moms & babies at 2-top tables, or else there won't be any room for
highchairs PERIOD! By now your restaurant should also be looking better. When
I chose my decorations, I chose the tables & chairs, the counter, the pool,
and the umbrellas.

Level 10
************
Goal: $7500
Expert Goal: $10000
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 4/10
Tables: 8
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: N/A

This shift is a piece of cake. You have 8 tables, which would usually mean
that the level's going to be harder, but in this case, it makes it easier. You
don't have to worry quite as much about chaining this time, but do it anyway
if you'd like.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Restaurant #2: Train
###########################

After Flo & Darla finish their journey through the cruise ship, they take a
taxi to Grand Central Station so that they can hop on for a ride, but Flo
leaves her luggage in the taxi. They don't realize it until they get on board,
inside of the train's restaurant. The restaurant doesn't have the best service
though... Flo needs to get her luggage back, so Darla suggests that they help
out by working in the diner. Darla doesn't mind, but she still is looking
forward to a real vacation... oh, and if you thought that Flo's closet would
be wiped out, all of her clothes from the cruise ship are still here, quite
oddly. As in all Diner Dash games, the customer color has increased. Expect
some new challenges aboard the train, but this isn't too difficult. In this
restaurant, there are 6 different upgrades, and you still only use 4 of them.
I chose all of them but the tables and the chandelier, but you can choose any
that you want:

1. Tables & Chairs
2. Counter
3. Grandfather Clock
4. Shelves
5. Chandelier
6. Wall Lights

Level 11
*************
Goal: $4500
Expert Goal: $6200
Upgrades: N/A
Difficulty: 4/10
Tables: 4
Challenges: Turbulence
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: N/A

This level isn't that bad. Just watch out whenever the train shakes- expect
some drink spills. Don't be too long on chaining; you can still achieve the
expert goal if you make short chains- 2 or 3 groups.

Level 12
*************
Goal: $5000
Expert Goal: $8000
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 6/10
Tables: 4
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: Lovebirds
New Objects: N/A

We're meeting a new pair of customers today, the lovebirds: your fourth
customer type. They're very patient at the table, but they smooch randomly
throughout their meal. Watch out, because it annoys all customers but families
at this point. And lovebirds only sit at tables for 2, which isn't that bad
now, but it can cause problems in later levels. Also, the expert goal is kind
of steep. This level will require some bigger chains of 4 to make it through.
I don't think that it'll take a strategic table, though.

Level 13
*************
Goal: $7800
Expert Goal: $9700
Upgrades: Decorations
Difficulty: 5/10
Tables: 5
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: Lemonade Pitcher

Now that you have lemonade to serve (or atleast that's what I think it is...
maybe it's punch, I don't know), it's a bit easier. And you've got an extra
table.

Level 14
*************
Goal: $8800
Expert Goal: $11000
Upgrades: Clothes
Difficulty: 5/10
Tables: 5
Challenges: Turbulence?
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: N/A

Maybe it's just some of our discs, but for some odd reason, the train doesn't
shake at all, so don't get hyped up about it. The difficulty hasn't really
dropped any, or increased at all, thankfully. It'll get even easier once you
have the podium at your aid... that will be very soon!

Level 15
*************
Goal: $8000
Expert Goal: $10500
Upgrades: Decorations
Difficulty: 4/10
Tables: 5
Challenges: N/A
New Customers: N/A
New Objects: Podium

Not only have the goal and expert goal dropped, but you have the podium now,
which makes life a lot easier- easier for chaining, too. And we've got another
glitch... or maybe it was meant to be... some businesswomen groups come in
later on, and as veterans know, they're impatient. Well, this is the only time
that you'll see them until the fourth restaurant, luckily. Use the podium to
keep them happy.

One more customer type has come: the bookworm. Atleast they're patient. But

Are you ready for another blackout level? This time you have 6 tables... yes,

troublesome besides the power cut is that more families are coming through; if
the babies get to cry, then the bookworms will get angry.

I'm not sure if it's cake or not, but that's sure what it looks like. This
level is only difficult because the goal and the expert goal have rocketed. If
you haven't been making long chains so far, this is the level to do so, but
only for this level. Also, in case you don't know, you can't pick up any more
dessert trays than there is demand for. This is what makes dessert chaining a
bit harder than Diner Dash 2. Oh, and always serve dessert unless your
customers are really getting angry in line and you don't have time to stand at
the podium. That shouldn't happen in this level, though.

A couple of new things this shift: first of all, the staff phone can be used
once during the shift to call in a staff helper for a short amount of time.
You have 4 choices: the busser (I never use him) that gives checks and clear
dishes for you, the drink server, who serves continuous drinks (he's pretty
helpful), the hostess, who stands at the podium for you (she's pretty good,
but only use her when customers in line are getting angry and you have too
much work to do at the tables), and the entertainer (in this restaurant, the
pianist), who plays tunes throughout the shift. And you'll see a father & son
group shift. They're like other families, except they don't need a highchair
and they don't make noise. They do spill drinks, though. You'll also see a
senior with a mom & dad; this group behaves much like the regular family.

I hate these levels. This one isn't so bad, though, because no cellphone

their colors. This isn't too bad, but in this level, they don't give you many
starting colors to work with. My only advice is to not seat anybody at the 6-
top table that doesn't go there. You could very well make it so that no group
of six can sit there anymore. Other than that, it isn't too difficult. You can
really earn a lot of your points from just color-matching.

Restaurant #3- Submarine
################################

While Flo & Darla wave to the people on the train after getting off, some guys
steal Flo's luggage (why, I don't know). Then, as Darla spots a cool submarine
place, Flo realizes that she lost her luggage. They get on the submarine, and
once again, the restaurant employees are doing a bad job. Flo wants to work
one more time to get her stuff back... this restaurant calls for some harder
levels and new challenges (veterans of Diner Dash 2 will be seeing their
favorite customer of all time... WRONG!!!). You have a new customer color,
two, which makes four of them, and now any group that leaves your restaurant
angry will cut your points by 750. These are all of the upgrades ready for the
submarine. I used the first four, but once again, you can use any that you'd
like:

1. Tables & Chairs

What makes it hard is that you don't have a podium or a drink station. I've

you'll need to get some pretty long chains here. The turbulence doesn't really
help, either. Watch the customers in line: you may see some angry faces this

Restaurant #4: Blimp
###########################

Are you ready to take on the blimp? Flo & Darla are pretty tired after working
in the submarine, and are ready for their vacation. They could really use a
lift in a blimp nearby, but as they are being pulled up through the chute,
Flo's luggage lock breaks and all of her clothes go flying through the air.
She claims that she has no idea how the lock broke, and you see the same
scenario as with every location; they're sitting in a restaurant, and behind
them is chaos and angry customers. Darla says that this is the LAST time,
though. No surprise here; now you have to work in the blimp. Some of these
levels are more challenging, and you also get your final customer color
addition, and now any group that leaves unhappy will cost you 1000 points- try
not to let ANYBODY leave! Oh, and enjoy the music, it's my favorite theme in
the game (and this is my favorite restaurant, too). Once again, there are 6
upgrades that you can choose from in the blimp. I chose the first four when I
went through it:

Not to mention those heavenly milkshakes? Milkshakes are what keep you alive

terribly wrong. 4 tables... all smashed together... and a total of 4 cell
addict groups. Fun, I know. The expert goal is very hard. That's why I've put
in a table. This table is hard to follow, but I think it's the best way to get
through this level. Chain 3 and 5 are very difficult; you must serve
milkshakes continuously to the groups annoyed by cellphone addicts, and you
must seat the addicts quickly that are in chain 4, because they get angry
quickly. There just isn't any other way to make it work, so in this level,
you'll be forced to put some people where they don't want to be. Also, in the
transition from chain 4 to 5, clear the cellphone addict group's dishes, and
then seat chain 5. The seniors will have to wait for the family to leave. Let
the family finish and then clear their dishes. Also, in chain 5 to chain 6
clear the cell addicts and the ladies' dishes so that you can immediately seat
chain 6. Here's a simple table diagram to go along with the strategy.

I hate these levels. The nice thing is that they provided you with starting

I thought this level's goal & expert goal weren't terribly high considering
all of the color bonuses that you get throughout it, but I do believe that
some of the seating & chaining can be a bit difficult, so a more detailed
layout is shown below. For those of you who don't want the detailed version,
then I will give you a few hints. Whenever you get a group that has three
different colors in it, they will always fit at either the center of the bar
or at the top-left table. The bar is divided into two halves; the top 4 spots
are a mix of red & blue, while the bottom four spots are a mix of yellow &
green. This means that the four central spots can seat groups of 3 or 4
different colors no matter what.

Restaurant #5- Rocket
#############################

So, after our hard-working team gets out of the blimp, they're really in need
of a vacation now. Then, out of nowhere, comes a limousine with a man the
steps out. He owns all of the restaurants, and he congratulates the two, but
now wants them to work in his new restaurant- it's out of this world...
anyway, now any group that leaves will cut your points by 2000. This
restaurant is very hard: especially some of the expert goals. There are 2 in
here that I still haven't managed to get, but once I do find a perfect
solution for them, I'll post their strategy tables. Atleast the customer color
doesn't increase...! These are the upgrades ready for the spaceship, I chose
all but the fifth one:

It isn't a surprise; the first level of this restaurant is difficult. No
podium, no drink station... well, I have to admit that it is easier than the
first level of the previous restaurant, especially the table arrangement, and
also because now you have the extra hands from your robot assistant! Place
joggers, lovebirds, or fathers & sons at the central table and it doesn't
matter who you place around them, because they'll block off everyone's noises.
It's a little risky when placing lovebirds at that table, however, because if
they to smooching, then it can go the exact opposite way, where everyone sees
the kissing. Here's a more strategic table, though, since I think that this
level is a little bit heavy on the expert goal.

I didn't make an expert goal table for this level because I think that you can
probably figure it out. Make really long chains; seating is once again a bit
easier this time. Don't be afraid to seat any pairs of cellphone addicts at
the top-right 4-top table, either. And watch your color bonuses. They can be
really handy when achieving the expert goal.

The expert goal is very tough for this level, that's why the difficulty is so
high. I did finally get the expert goal for this level, but I will tell you
one very important thing; color matching is key to getting through this level.
Still, I only made it over by 2000 points... it's really steep. You NEED to be
good at color matching in order to make it. The top left table is for large
groups that have yellow in them. If you build up one colored seat to where the
flag says "x4," then try very hard to always seat customers in this seat, or
if you don't have any x4s, try x3 flags. They'll earn you some major points.
Also, plan how you're going to seat customers at a table. If you want, stand
at the podium continuously while you're dragging customers over to the tables
and simply maneuvering them around their table (which is shown in the strategy
diagram below) so that you can plan their color seating. It's very, VERY
important to make it through. Part of it is also luck, because now you're
serving onion ring appetizers, and there was one time that I tried it where I
got barely any requests; another time I tried it and I chained together tons
of snacks for some big points. It really is about luck on that part. And watch
out when you seat a chain of customers. With all scientists, you'll be seeing
mostly groups of seniors, bookworms, and businesswomen, with a few groups of
cell addicts thrown in for good measure. This means that you have an uneven
balance of speed; bookworms & seniors are very slow, while businesswomen and
cell addicts zip through. Try to seat them according to how fast they are.
Here's the table diagram and the strategy for this level.

Dessert already? Now customers can request that after they finish eating, so

pain for two reasons: the amount of tables (and the arrangement itself) and

There'll be a couple of points where you're forced to place customers next to

The expert goal is a lot of pressure. It took me very long to get the expert
score, but now that I have gotten it, the strategy is shown below. It's very
tough. Snack requests should NEVER be ignored, and try to chain as many snacks
as possible. I only beat it by a little over 500 points when I used this
method, though... once again, color matching is very critical. That's why I've
shown all of the customers for specific seating. I'm serious. All of the
tables but table #3 should be closely watched when color-matching. Table #2 is
always the same; tables 1, 4, and 5 can be broken, but only for a few seats.
If you see flags that say x3 or x4, then try not to break that color match.
Here is the table diagram and the strategy that should hopefully get you
through.

The difficulty has dropped quite a bit, but you do have to match colors in

The bar is now in your rocket restaurant. Be careful with the bar in this

and noise from the tables travels over to the bar. This doesn't mean that if
one noisy group is at the bar that it travels over to all of the tables. If

Ha-ha, the black hole is gone, but it sucked away all of the colors. Funny.
This level isn't too bad, either, atleast compared to some of them in this
spaceship. Atleast now you don't have to spend 5 hours finding the right way
to earn color bonuses. Careful, because now there are 3 tables closer to the
bar, and if things get noisy over at the bar, it'll very well annoy customers
at the tables.

This level is very tough. It takes a lot of skill to get through. The most
critical part of the level, and this is probably the only level that follows
this rule, is the beginning. You HAVE to know where customers need to go in
the beginning in order for anything to work out. In most color matching
challenges, they give you starting colors, but in this one, they don't. And
there are many combinations of colors. My original idea was OK for getting the
expert score, but I found it to be a little too steep. My newest idea (this is
actually the third one that I've posted) got me over the expert score by about
7000 points, so that should be a wide enough range to get through it with
anybody. Watch very carefully when using the strategy this shift, because
sometimes it's confusing with everyone in only three different customer
colors, purple, green, and yellow. And remember; if you screw anything up
until all of the chairs have the right colors on them, then there's a good
chance that you'll loose a couple of groups of so of customers.

NOTE: The fourth group of customers needs to be seated carefully at their
table. There are 2 purple seniors and 2 green seniors within the group;
arrange them so that the 2 purple ones are at the upper seats on the table and
the two green ones are at the bottom 2 seats. This is critical so that you can
seat a family later on and be able to give them a highchair without messing
the colors up.

Wow... if you can complete that level without using any help, and you can get
the expert goal, too, then you're definitely a Diner Dash master. But now
what? The man congratulates Flo & Darla for their hard work, but what now?
What do they want? How about that Zero-G lounge... that's right, instead of
kicking back, they're floating back! What a perfect ending! Then the credits
roll, and your journey is over... wait a minute- have you gotten all the
expert goals? Go back through and try to get each expert goal that you can.
You can tell which levels you have the expert goal on, because instead of a
floating buoy thingy, there'll be a star floating in the water.

Part 8: Bonus Levels
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

So, you've gotten all of the expert goals on a restaurant, eh? The game will
inform you that you have unlocked a brand new secret level! To go to the
secret levels menu, click on the button at the top right of the locations
screen. There will be 5 different levels; if one says, "Ready," then you can
click on it to enter a brand new level! These ones are just for fun... you'll
notice a lot of groups contain mixes of the customers! Lots of them behave
like business types, though, so you'll have to be quick. Noise does not apply
in the bonus levels; so don't be afraid about the cell addicts.

Date Night
***************
Goal: $12000
Expert Goal: $15000
Location: Cruise Ship
Tables: 3 + Bar
Objects: Fruit Drink Blender, Flan Station, Mop
Customer Groups & Pairs:
  - Business Woman & Cellphone Addict (fits well, huh?)
  - Father & Young Lady (wait a minute...!)
  - Jogger, 2 Fathers, and Young Lady (4 must not be a crowd...)
  - Bookworm, 2 Young Ladies, and Cellphone Addict (how does that bookworm
stand the noise?)

Ooh, you'll see some interesting couples and groups. The young lady and the
father are quite impatient... atleast you don't have to worry about cell
addict noises. And speaking of noises, how the heck does that bookworm in the
foursome stand all of that noise? Beats me, but for those of you who played
Diner Dash 2, you'll notice that the dessert served is the same as the flan
from Margarita's Cantina.

Girl's Night Out
*********************
Goal: $10000
Expert Goal: $13750
Location: Train
Tables: 5
Objects: Lemonade Pitcher, Podium, Staff Phone
Customer Groups & Pairs:
- Business Woman & Young Lady
- Business Woman & Jogger
- Pair of Joggers
- Pair of Businesswomen
- Pair of Young Ladies
- Tourist, Jogger, Business Woman, & Young Lady
- Tourist, 2 Businesswomen, and Jogger
- Foursome of Joggers

This level is weird once again. Now you've got all girls on the train...
you'll notice that what's funny is when you seat either of the two groups
with the tourist, she's much taller than everybody else!

Business Lunch
********************
Goal: $12000
Expert Goal: $14250
Location: Submarine
Tables: 4
Objects: Beer Tap, Podium, Staff Phone
Customer Groups & Pairs:
  - 3 Business Women & 3 Cellphone Addicts
  - Cellphone Addict & Business Woman
  - Cellphone Addict & Father
  - 2 Fathers & 2 Cellphone Addicts
  - Pair of Business Women & Pair of Cellphone Addicts
  - Foursome of Cellphone Addicts
  - Pair of Cellphone Addicts
  - 6 Cellphone Addicts
  - 3 Cellphone Addicts, Young Lady, & 2 Fathers

This level also has many fathers in it as well as business types. They come
in with the cellphone addicts... weird, I know. This level is just another
mixer, nothing special about it. The cell addicts don't even cause problems
because all of the tables are spread out!

Summer Camp
*****************
Goal: $20000
Expert Goal: $25000
Location: Blimp
Tables: 9
Objects: Milkshake Machine, Podium, Banana Split Station, Staff Phone

I didn't include a list of customer groups & pairs because it's mostly just
kids coming in with counselors- fathers & young ladies. It's a cool but tough
level. The groups order at a very fast speed, just so you know. And don't
forget to serve banana split, too.

Everybody to the Limit
****************************
Goal: $25000
Expert Goal: $30000
Location: Rocket
Tables: 9
Objects: Galactic Punch Dispenser, Podium, Staff Phone

Wow, it really is going to the limit. There are many different groups of
mixed customers, so I didn't include them. But now you'll be seeing mixes of
almost every customer in the game; young ladies, tourist women, fathers,
kids, bookworms, cellphone addicts, joggers, and businesswomen. Most of them
are mixed according to the previous 4 levels (dates, girl groups, business
groups, and camping groups). It's a fun level, though... seeing all of the
customers mixed together!

Part 9: Endless Shift
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Endless shift is unlocked for each restaurant once you unlock it in the
regular Story Mode. In Endless Shift, the shift never ends, and all of the
different customer types come in to eat at your restaurant. It starts out
with either ladies or businesswomen, and then the customer types come in as
you go along. Whenever you reach a goal, the "Upgrades" button flashes and
you can pick something to help you work faster. Then a higher goal is set,
and you can keep using the "Upgrades" button to help you work. These are all
of the object upgrades that you can get:

New Table
  - Add a new table (or 2)

Drink Station (Fruit Drinks, Lemonade, Beer, Milkshakes, or Punch)
  - Standard Drink Station
  - Drinkmaster Ultra (drinks appear faster)
  - Ultra Drinkmaster Max Pro (bigger mood burst)

Podium
  - Standard Podium
  - Podium Deluxe (able to use more)
  - Podium Cruiser 2000 (charges up faster)
  - Podium Elite Cruiser (gives bigger mood burst)

Bench
  - Bench
  - Luxury Bench (gives bigger mood burst)

Oven
  - Oven Pro (food appears fast)
  - Oven Pro Silver (food appears faster)
  - Oven Pro Gold (food appears fastest)

Energy Bars
  - Standard Energy Bars (Flo moves fast)
  - Super Energy Bars (Flo moves faster)
  - Super Max Energy Bars (Flo moves fastest)

Entertainment
  - Radio (1/2 heart mood burst for all seated customers when clicked)
  - Stereo (able to use more)
  - Entertainer (Pianist, Harpist, Singer, or Musician- bigger mood burst)

There are 3 different difficulties, "Easy", "Medium", and "Hard". The
customers will have different patience per difficulty level. Also, whenever a
group leaves angry, you loose a star. Once you loose all of your stars, the
shift is over. There are 5 stars in the Easy level, 4 in the Medium level,
and only 3 in the Hard level. Also, the table amounts change. There are 4
tables in all restaurants of the Easy level except for the Cruise Ship, where
there are 5. There are 5 tables in every restaurant of the Medium level
except for the Cruise Ship, where there are only 4. In the Hard level, each
restaurant starts out with 4 except for the Cruise Ship, which starts with
only 3.

Special Thanks:
  - GameFAQs, for posting this walkthrough
  - You, for reading it
  - Playfirst, for making a spectacular series
  - My parents, for buying it

Well... that's pretty much it. Thanks so much for reading this. This is
actually my first "full" walkthrough- one of my others I started, but never
finished, and my other two were only in-depth walkthroughs. As for Diner Dash
2, I'm also planning on making a walkthrough for it, and maybe even the
original, if I can find some time... also, if I ever get Hometown Hero, it's
on my list, too.
